Brad, I'm surprised you didn't go 180.
Kal, I thought you might try that as well.
I prepared a plot with specific instructions as to which of you I would try to gain a slip from next turn -- never imagined that we would be three-wide.

Yeah, I was surprised Brad didn't go 180 too - I specified to line up for a slip from him if it was available. I did think about it, but wasn't sure I wanted to push the top speed this early...

Well, at least you won't be dropping cinder blocks into my path ... this move, anyway.

I didn't want to come into the curve too hot. I would have had to slam on the brakes if I went 180.

Here is fine. Hmmm.... I wonder why the well-dressed Randy posted that link? You'll also find pics of Chris and John (2004 champion)!

Congrats fellas!

And here's MY blog from the same race. I took pics of the track just about every move.

Pretty sure I'd have to take an acceleration penalty for that. Cinder blocks would weigh the car down too much.

True, but banana peels don't weigh as much.

I think Kal's car may undergo an official inspection at race's end. Found this in his garage:

Thanks for all the timely orders. Back on schedule...

Turn 7 Summary
Chris grabs the first red line in Les Combes at 120 for two wear. Fabio drops two wear at 120 on the 80's. Kal pulls up on the Les Combes line at 140. Brad takes the outside lane, also at 140. Rando keeps it three wide going into the narrow part of the track. This could get messy, folks! Cody runs the Kemmel at 160, opting for an outside position. Mike pulls even with Cody on the inside at 160 and the slip. Todd pushes his top speed with 2 sp (modified 4) at 180 and maintains inside position. Will maxes his top speed at 180 to stay even. Tim comes out of the Raidillon at his top speed of 180. John is conserving his wear at the back, navigating the Eau Rouge green line at 140.

Yeah! I fought my way into 3rd! The crowd starts chanting, "We're number 3! We're number 3!"

Last race I didn't get into third place until move 32 of 33, so this is clearly an improvement.

Hey, these blinking emoticons are fun.

Cars are getting through Les Combes without incident...

Turn 7 Results
Chris drops a wear at 120 in the Les Combes 100's. Fabio takes the second Les Combes line at 120 for a wear and pulls abreast of Chris. Randy knocks off 2 wear in the Les Combes 60 then grabs the line for free at 100. Kal completes the Les Combes line for a wear and drops another on the 80 at 100. He grabs the lane next to Rando. Brad burns a wear at 100 in the Les Combes 80's then grabs the 2nd line for free. Mike hits the first Les Combes line for 2 wear at 120 and drops another 2 in the 80. Cody notches a wear on the line at 100. At 120, Will burns 2 wear in the Les Combes line. Todd slams the brakes down to 100, drops a wear, and rolls on the brake table with 1 sp (modified 10). Todd's brakes turn to mush costing him one more wear and some of his brake pads. Tim pulls up to Les Combes at 160 and tucks inside of Todd who is occupying the line. John takes his car up to 180 and closes the gap on the peleton.
