No furnace problems here (sorry, Kal ).

Turn 25 Summary
Kal drops speed to 140 as he finishes the Pouhon line and pulls up to the Fagnes line. Fabio takes the Pouhon line at 140 for free. Rando does the same and with the slip bonus pulls up to the outside of Fabio. Mike keeps up at 140 on the line and, with the slip, tucks in behind Fabio. Brad also grabs the Pouhon line for free at 140. Yet another 140 from the field as Chris keeps up with Brad, also on the line. More 140's from Will and Cody. Will moves first from the inside and takes the Pouhon line while Cody is pushed to the outside 140's. John finishes the Rivage corner at 120. Tim takes the Rivage 120's for free at 120.

Did Chris mention he hates this track?

Turn 26 Summary
Kal saves his wear through the Fagnes line at 80. Fabio drop a wear at 100 on the line and pulls alongside Kal. Rando drops to 80 on the Fagnes line for free and is sitting on Kal's butt. Mike burns one of his last wear at 100 through the Fagnes 80's and tucks in behind Rando. At 120, Brad takes the Fagnes line for 2 wear (nice of me to keep it open). Chris plots 140 then brakes to 120 prior to Fagnes, applying 1 sp to the roll (modified 11). He loses some brake pads and pays 2 wear for the Fagnes line plus 1 more for the failed test. Will finishes the Pouhon line at 140 and grabs the Fagnes line. At 140, Cody completes the Pouhon 140's and grabs Will's tail. John takes the Pouhon line for free at 140. Tim pulls up to Pouhon on the line at 140.

I made a correction to Chris's wear - he loses one more with the failed brake test. The above chart and summary is now correct.

Three in the front row ready for the long straight...

Turn 27 Summary
Both Kal and Fabio use the Paul Frere 140's for free at 140. Rando follows suit and pulls even with the slip on Kal, making it 3-wide. Mike keeps pace, also in the 140's for free plus the slip from Rando. Brad rockets to 160, taking the outside Paul Frere lane for free. Chris ups his speed to 140 (by virtue of the increased speed in Fagnes), finishes the line and ends in the middle of the Paul Frere 140's for free. Will drops a wear on the Fagnes line at 100 and is poised for the Paul Frere. Cody conserves his wear at 80 on the Fagnes line. John pulls up to the Fagnes line at 100. Tim takes the Pouhon line for free at 140 and tucks in behind John.

Turn 28 Deadline: Friday, March 13th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

*Expected delay on Friday but I ought to be able to get to it by evening. Early adjudication not an option.

There is a new race leader?! Bwa ha ha ha ha....ha.

Turn 28 Summary
Kal, Fabio, and Rando all plot 160 and maintain the three wide on the straight. Mike will have none of it, rolling some dice for top speed (naked 7*) to reach 200 mph. He then rolls again to pass Kal with 2sp (modified 8*) and slips by to take the lead. Brad is hanging back at 160. Chris completes the Paul Frere at 140. Will takes the Paul Frere 140's for free. Cody drops a wear at 160 in the P.F. 140's and tucks in behind Will. John and Tim both use the Fagnes line for free at 80.

*Dice rolls sent to Kal.

Mike,

With that successful forced pass at 200 mph heading into a speed 40 chicane, I nominate you for the "balls of chrome plated depleted uranium" award. I have not completed a thorough search of redscape.com but speculate that you are the first nominee.

If only my crystal ball could answer the question : "what happens when 4 cars scream at 160 into a 3-wide corner approach to a 60-mph corner?"

The Bus Stop chicane just got very interesting....

Turn 29 Summary
Mike slams the brakes with 1 sp (modified 7*) to drop to 140 and grab the Bus Stop line. Kal pulls up to the outside of Mike at 160. Fabio is stuck on the inside, also at 160. Rando plays it safe at 140 and tucks in behind Fabio. Brad plays it uber-safe at 120 to steer clear of any possible carnage next turn. At 140, Chris nabs Brad's tailpipe. Will lets it all hang out at 180 and sits on Chris's tail. At 160, Cody gets the double slip off Will to pull alongside the pink car. John saves his wear at 140 in the Paul Frere. Tim follows John at 140 and stays on his bumper.

*Dice roll sent to Kal.

Sorry for the delay. Looks like the Bus Stop was a non-event.

Turn 30 Summary
Mike uses his last wear and 1 sp on the chance table (modified 6*) to barely make it through the Bus Stop line at 100. Kal burns 2 wear in the 1st set of 60's and the second line at 100, tucking in behind Mike. Fabio jams on the brakes to go 80, costing a wear and a roll on the brake table with his last 2 sp (modified 5). He then takes the 40's for 2 more wear and pulls up next to Kal. Rando uses the Bus Stop line for a wear at 80. Brad pulls up to the chicane at 80, grabbing the line. Chris takes the outside lane at 100. Will makes it three wide at 120 and settles on the inside. At 100, Cody pulls up behind Brad. John runs the straight at 160. Tim takes his ride up to 180 to pull even with John.

*Dice sent to Kal.

The 2nd chase pack makes it through the Bus Stop unharmed. Lap three has begun!

Turn 31 Summary
Mike pulls up to La Source in the middle lane at 120. Kal pulls even on the outside lane at 120 plus the slip. Fabio hangs back at 120. Rando comes abreast of Fabio at 140. Brad has the initiative in the Bus Stop and takes the line for a wear. Will is next at 60 and burns a wear in the 40's. At 60, Chris takes the 60's and the second line for free. Cody takes the first Bus Stop line for a wear and is pushed out to the 60's in the second part. John ramps up his speed to 180 followed by a brake down to 160 and a naked roll on the brake table (6 = pass). John ends on the Bus Stop racing line. Tim takes it easy at 140 and tucks in behind John.

Turn 32 Deadline: Monday, March 23rd @ 12 noon EDT (4 p.m. GMT)

Sorry about the poor quality of the chart. I'll spiff it up on Monday.

Time for Rando to pull away. I must be living right to get this kind of karma...

Turn 32 Summary
Mike hits La Source 60's at 80 for another roll on the chance table, 1 sp applied (modified 5*), to stay in the lead. Kal conserves wear at 60 in the 60's. Rando knocks off 2 wear to take the La Source 60's at 100, passing Kal and pulling alongside Mike. Fabio burns a wear in the 60's at 80, pulling abreast of Kal. Brad enters his third lap at 120. Will pushes his acceleration to go 140 (naked 8) and comes up next to Brad. At 160, Cody tears out of the Bus Stop to make it three wide in front of La Source. Chris tucks in behind Brad at 120 plus the slip on Will. John slams the brakes down to 80 with a dice roll (naked 4) and takes the Bus Stop line for a wear. Tim also drops a wear on the Bus Stop line at 80.

*Dice roll sent to Kal.

Rando is the new race leader and is unlikely to cede the position. Fabio makes the rare error.

Turn 33 Summary
Rando kicks it to 160 to take the lead on the Eau Rouge green line. At 140, Mike also grabs the green racing line. Kal pushes his acceleration with 2 sp to go 140 (modified 9) and with the slip tucks in behind Rando, albeit off the green. Fabio plots 120 and without a designated lane preference ends on the inside, missing the green line opportunity. Cody romps through La Source at 100 for 2 wear on the 60's. Brad drops a wear on the 60's at 80. Will keeps up with Brad, also at 80 in the 60's for a wear. Chris burns a wear in the La Source 60's at 80 and has a choice of who to slip next turn. John pulls up to La Source at 140 in the middle lane. Tim tucks in behind John at 140.

The dice continue to be kind. At this point the fight is for 2nd place as this is now Rando's race to lose.

Turn 34 Summary
Rando takes the Eau Rouge green for 1 wear at 160 to get some separation from the chase pack. Kal uses the outside red line for free at 140 and the slip. At 140, Mike takes the Eau Rouge green for free. Fabio uses the inside red line for free at 120. Cody pushes his top speed with 2 sp (modified 0) to go 180, pulling up to the Eau Rouge corner on the green line. Brad pushes his acceleration with his last sp (modified 1) and hits 160 to grab the green line. Will also pushes his engine to go 160 with 2 sp (modified 6) to stay in the same row as Brad. Without a lane preference, he takes the inside. Chris comes out of La Source at 140 and stays on Brads tailpipe with the slip. John burns 2 wear in the La Source 60's at 100. Tim stays on John's bumper, also burning 2 wear in the 60's at 100.

Some more dice rolls have Rando pulling away in the front and Cody making some noise in the middle.

Turn 35 Summary
Rando pushes his top speed to hit 180 with his last 2 sp on the Kemmel (modified 2). Brad and Mike both plot 160 to remain side by side. Fabio comes out the Raidillon at 160. Cody rolls the dice with 1 sp (modified 7) to extend his 180 cruising speed. He takes the Eau Rouge green line for 2 wear and tucks in behind Fabio. Brad has the initiative over Will at 160 and rides the green line for a wear. Will grabs the inside Eau Rouge red line for free at 120. Chris stays on Brad's tail at 140 plus the slip on the green line for free. John puts the hammer down at 180 and enters the Eau Rouge green line for 2 wear. Tim keeps up at 160 and the slip, also on the green line. He opts out of the double bonus.
