Rando wrote:Brad, I am astonished that you went through at 60. My plot reflects my astonishment.

OH -- Cody -- good on ya, I think we are about to see you flex that 80 braking power!

I am envious of that 80/80 set-up on Cody's car. Is it bad that I have performance envy?

As for Brad, his plots are like a box of chocolates. You know the rest...

I tinkered with the thought of going 180 but chose not to give Cody the double bonus. I might give Will the double... or not.

Things are getting interesting up front...

Turn 20 Summary
Fabio maintains 160 on the Kemmel and is hanging onto a tenuous lead. Kal pulls up alongside Fabio at 160 and the bonus. Chris keeps up with the pack and tucks in behind Fabio, also at 160. Brad plots 160 as well but refuses the slip to stay behind Chris. Rando completes the conga line in Kemmel at 160. Cody has the initiative through Eau Rouge at 160 and takes the outer red line for a wear and an inside position. Mike conservers his wear at 140 on the green line and ends adjacent to Cody. At 140 and the slip on the green line, Will pulls up to make it three-wide going into the Kemmel straight. John drops the hammer and hits 180 as he brandishes his high performance engine. John grabs the green line. Tim pushes his acceleration with 1 SP (modified 6) and starts the green line at 160.*

*Note: This was a correction for Tim. He mis-plotted 180 but can only go 160. The track has also been corrected.

Summary & track corrected to account for Tim's mis-plot and my error in missing it.

The secondary peloton is gaining ground on the chase pack. Fabio maintains his grip on a very tenuous lead going into the narrow part of the track.

Turn 21 Summary
Fabio burns off 2 wear through the first Les Combes line at 120. Kal starts out at 120 then taps the brakes down to 100 before entering Les Combes. He applies 2 sp to the brake table (modified 7) and stays on the line behind Fabio. Chris approaches the S-curves at 100 and opts to grab the line instead of taking the bonus. Brad pulls up to Les Combes at 120 on the inside lane. Rando makes it three-wide at 120 plus the slip bonus. Mike tops out his car at 180, selecting the outside lane. Will maintains his car at 180, taking the inside lane. Cody tucks in behind Will at 160. John drops 2 wear at 180 through the Eau Rouge green line. Tim takes the same line for free at 140.

Those nice, neat car groupings are disintegrating through the S-curves. The race is tightening up while Kal challenges Fabio for the lead.

Turn 22 Summary
Fabio conserves his wear at 100 through the 100's. Kal completes his first line followed by 1 wear in the 100's at 120. He pulls alongside Fabio to fight for the lead. Rando gets the initiative at 100, burning a wear in the first 80's and takes the 2nd line for free. Brad goes next at 80, dropping 1 wear in the 60 and travels for free through the 2nd 80 to end next to Rando. Also at 80, Chris takes the first Les Combes line for free, enters the 80, and has to slam the brakes for a wear with the exit row blocked. Mike takes the initiative at 140 then taps the brakes prior to Les Combes, applying 1 sp to the brake table (modified 5). He burns 2 wear in the Les Combes 80's and grabs the 2nd line. At 120, Will loses 2 wear in Les Combes 80's and slots in beside Mike. Cody enters the first Les Combes racing line for free at 80 and the slip on Will. John is starting to catch up to the pack at 180 while he grabs the Les Combes line. Tim is enjoying the clean air at 180 on the Kemmel Straight.

That worked better than I expected. Passed two cars and only spent one wear. Chris, didn't mean to jam you up. On the third lap I would do that mercilessly but these first two laps I'm just trying for a smooth ride.

Mike is burning wear like it's going out of style...

Turn 23 Summary
Kal gets the initiative at 120 and takes the Rivage 120's for free. At 100 Fabio uses the 100's for free. Rando hits the Rivage 120's for a wear at 140 and tucks in behind Kal. Brad takes the 120's for free at 120. Chris follows Brad's lead at 120 and stays on his tailpipe into the Rivage corner. Mike drops 2 wear on the second Les Combes line at 140 then nicks 2 more as he enters the Rivage 100's. Will takes the 100's in Les Combes for free at 100. Cody completes the first Les Combes line followed by the 80 for free at 80. With the slip he pulls up next to Will. At 100, John burns a wear in the first Les Combes line then uses the 100's in the second for free. Tim uses 2 wear at 120 in the first Les Combes line.

Turn 24 Deadline: Wednesday, March 4th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

Edit: I forgot John's roll on the brake table with 2 sp applied (modified 8). He's good.

Better watch out if I get in front of you. My tires are almost bald and since it's the final race in the Grand Prix I'll be making liberal use of the chance table.

We're at about the halfway point in the race and there is a new leader at the front!

Brad is stuck at 120 as he completes the Rivage corner. Mike shoots out of Rivage at 140 and grabs Rando's exhaust. Chris completes Rivage at 120 and hunkers down behind Brad. Will burns a wear in the Rivage 100's at 120, taking the inside lane on exit. Cody also drops a wear in the 100's at 120 to stay alongside Will. John enters the Rivage 120's for free at 120. Tim completes the first Les Combes corner on the line then grabs the 100's for a wear at 120.

Turn 25 Deadline: Friday, March 6th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

Note: A delay is possible on T25 due to weather issues. I'll keep you advised.

Oh my, it looks like the spreadsheet needs fixing on the font size. I had to start a new one as the old one had a glitch in it that was disabling Excel. It's been driving me bonkers for weeks (Kal, I wish I had your skills). It'll be back up to snuff next turn.
