Grid positions are set.

Rando grabbed the pole with a massive bid of 6. Kal wins the tiebreaker between he and Mike. Tim takes the three-way tiebreaker between he, Will, and Todd. Will beats Todd in that same roll-off. All bids and dice rolls are shown in the stats area.

Turn 1 Deadline: Friday, January 9th @ 12 noon EST (5 p.m. GMT)

Note: R = row, L = lane

Yay! John has checked in. Unfortunately his plot was lost in the mails but we're good to go.

I don't have time for a summary today but I will mention the only out of ordinary event - the three wide just past the start line caused Todd to use a wear :frown: . Everything else is ducky, even all those dice rolls on pushing start speeds!

1) La Source is a tight hairpin causing some problems.
2) I will get you for that, Brad (I have lasers... and sharks).

T2 Summary
Fabio takes the lead at 100 through the La Source 60's and two wear. Chris keeps up, burning two wear on the 40's. Rando knocks down a wear at 80 on the 60's. Kal drops two wear at 80 on the 40's and punches Rando as he drives by (hey, it's in the plot!). Brad has the initiative from the three wide with a plot of 100. He hits the brakes before La Source (1 wear) and tucks into the 40's for 2 more wear at 80. Mike enters the 60's at 80 for 1 wear. Will plots 80 but has to brake down to 60 (1 wear), and ends on the inside. At 80, Todd grabs the middle lane before the corner. Cody uses all of his massive engine to hit 120 and takes the outside lane before the hairpin. Tim goes 80 and pulls in behind Will. John maxes out his acceleration to play catch up at 100.

Turn 3 Deadline: Wednesday, January 14th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

Reminder #1: The green racing line allows for +40 on the upcoming Eau Rouge corner.
Reminder #2: If you do not get a confirmation of your plot, assume I have not received it.

Didn't you know that Kal is also Mr. Fantastic? I don't know what his measured reach is but I imagine it's at least 50 feet.

My 1st-choice plot was the same as yours, and I expected it might be, so I jokingly added that in the conditions for if you were in the space you are now.

SHHH!! That's supposed to be a secret! (Of course, with 3 young kids, I wouldn't mind having that sort of stretch-reach...)

I have more work to do on the tire barriers...

Turn 3 Summary
Chris pushes his acceleration with 1 SP (modified 5) to get the initiative at 160 and takes lead on the green racing line into Eau Rouge. Fabio is on his tail at 140. Kal hits the straight at 140 and grabs the green line. Brad follows at 140 and grabs Kal's tail. Rando slots in beside Brad and still has access to the green RL, noting that he is happy not be behind Kal as he is "afraid something will fall off Kal's car either accidentally or on purpose..." Mike finishes La Source at 80, taking an inside position. Cody has the initiative going into La Source at 100. He burns 2 wear in the 60's and grabs the outside lane. At 80, Todd moves next, also burning 2 wear in the La Source 40 and tucks in between Mike and Cody. Will bumps a wear at 60 on the 40, pulling in behind Mike. Tim takes the La Source 60's for free. John hits the La Source 60's for 2 wear but then has to brake down to 80 for another wear with Tim blocking.

Reminder: Unless otherwise instructed, emergency braking always occurs at the latest possible point.

I've never seen a spread like this so early in a race (compare to Catalunya & Silverstone). Wow!

Tire wall repair is underway - in the meantime, drive carefully.

Turn 4 Summary
Chris take the Eau Rouge green line for free at 140. Fabio also uses the green for free at 140 and gets a slip to pull outside of Chris. Kal does the same - a free green line at 140. Brad hits his max speed of 180, taking the outer red line for 2 wear, and ends outside of Kal. Rando follows the green at 140 for free and tucks in behind Kal (watch for tacks and/or oil slicks!). Cody has the initiative in the three wide at 160 - he grabs the green line on Eau Rouge. Mike ramps his speed to 140, taking the green line on Cody's tail. Todd also plots 140, choosing an inside lane (what are you up to, Todd?). Will grabs the start of the green line at 120. Tim comes racing out of La Source at 120. John brings up the rear at 80.

The big spread is why I bid heavily for pole -- I didn't want to be on the ugly side of that spread only a few moves into the race.

Mike, Nice work taking the starkly plain track and adding trees, tire walls, etc. But please don't get too carried away and turn this track into the same distracting mess that are the Formula De' tracks.

I fixed your post.

Yeah, there is a danger in getting overly ambitious with track decoration. Considering that my time will become very constrained very soon, don't expect many more 'enhancements'!

Another advantage of racing here is that these races will be archived for perpetuity (or as long as Brad pays the bills). If we ever re-visit a track, it will be useful to be able to go back and learn from previous races.

I have no idea where I am going. Obviously, I kept the ending lane from the previous turn, and didn't pay attention to where I was going. :uhoh:

There's a 6-to-5 split on top speed, 160 as compared to 180. It will be interesting at the end of the race to see how the top speed design affects the standings.

A quick turn-around for the upcoming turn - get those plots in!

Turn 5 Summary
Chris hits the Kemmel Straight at 160. At the same pace, Fabio keeps up. Kal maintains the distance at 160 as well. Brad does the same, keeping abreast of Kal. At 160, Rando gets the slip on Kal and makes it three wide on the Kemmel. Cody drops a wear at 160 on the Eau Rouge green line. Todd burns a wear on the Eau Rouge 140's at 160 and moves to the inside. Mike takes Eau Rouge green for free at 140 and keeps up with Cody via the slip. With Cody's lane 2 selection, Mike tucks in for another next turn. Will knocks down a wear at 160 on the green line. Tim takes the green for free at 140. John maxes his accel at 160 and pulls up to Eau Rouge on the green line.

By the way...

Thanks to Cody for the upcoming slip and thanks to Todd for not blocking that green line!
