Two RM plots this turn!

Turn 20 Summary
Mike burns a wear to take the Abbey at +20. Fabio and Brad max their acceleration into the straight. Chris (80 mph) gets the jump on Todd and burns a wear on the 60 to block the Vale racing line. Todd is texting while driving and takes the RM plot through the outside lanes in Vale. Scott is blocked on the Vale line by Chris and takes the 80's at +20 for a wear. Dave must be texting with Todd - he takes the RM plot through the 80's at 100 for a wear. Kal grabs the line at +20, fortunate to get through with all the illegal texting going on around him. DC plots 100 to grab the Vale line.

Note: Per house rules, RM plots always take fastest part of the corner, never use the RL, and never burn wear or use SP. It is most definitely not advantageous to use the RM plot!

Sorry for the delay. Terribly busy & sick to boot.

Turn 21 Summary
Mike crosses the Bridge & pulls up the Priory. Fabio sits on the Abbey line for free. Brad is following and is set up on the line for next turn. Chris cranks it to 140 but brings lots of traffic with him. Scott pulls in behind Chris, also at 140. Todd takes his car to 140 as well and pulls up beside Chris with the bonus. Kal zooms to 160 to fill in the herd. Dave keeps up at 140 with no place to use the bonus. DC completes the Vale corner and is straggling behind.

For those in the peleton, you've got an interesting set of turns coming up!

Looks like bumper cars in there...

Turn 22 Summary
Mike conserves wear at 80 through the Priory & Brooklands. Fabio crosses the Bridge and pulls up to the Priory at 120. Brad saves his wear and takes the Abbey line at 80. Todd grabs the Abbey line at 100 for 1 wear, catching Brad on the Bridge. Chris follows on the line for free at 80. Scott is forced to the outside Abbey lane at 120, spending 2 wear. Kal slams on the brakes before the Abbey and rolls a modified 6 on the deceleration chart (2 sp applied) before hitting the 80 mph lane at 100 (120 plotted) for a wear. Dave spends a wear on the Abbey line at 100. DC sets his car up for the Abbey line at 120.

Sorry about the lateness...

Turn 23 Summary
Mike burns a wear in Luffield at 100. Fabio uses a wear in Brooklands at 100. Brad takes the long way through Priory at 120 while Todd takes the short route, also at 120. Scott grabs the outside Priory lane at 140. Chris plots 140 but hits the brakes before the Priory, taking the inside lane for free. He rolls the die and applies an SP on the decel table (modified 5). Kal steps on the gas at 160 and has to burn 2 wear, one for taking the Priory at +20 and then one for the emergency brake. Dave pulls in behind the crowd at 120. DC burns a wear through the Abbey at 100.

Adjusted Ka'ls speed to reflect the emergency braking. I seem to have a brain-block on doing this!

The race leader is now on lap 3...

Note: Thursday/Saturday deadline rest of this week. In fact, the remainder of the race will be subject to some volatility in adjudication times as my lengthy vacation starts next week. My apologies in advance for expected delays. Race 2 in the Redscape Grand Prix will be organized shortly with a target of late August for the start.

Turn 24 Summary
Mike takes it to 140 as he takes his car past Woodcote. Fabio burns 2 wear through Luffield and is in the straight at 120. Brad goes first through Brooklands on the outside for a wear at 100 then takes the inside Luffield corner for 2 wear. Todd uses a wear in Brooklands at 80 and takes the outside Luffield for free. Chris plots 100 for one wear in Brooklands on the 80's and 2 wear on the inside lane in Luffield. Scott exceeds his deceleration at 80 and rolls a modified 2 (-2 SP) on the table. He rolls through Brooklands for free on the 80's. Kal plots 80 through Brooklands for free on the outside. Dave burns a wear on the inside of Brooklands at 80. DC stays the course at 100 and takes the outside Priory lane (?).

Two more cars on lap 3...

Turn 25 Summary
Mike takes the Cops green line for free at 140. Fabio hits his max speed at 160, ready for the Cops line. Brad ramps his speed to 140 and is now on lap 3. Todd takes his speed up to 100 to finish Luffield.* Chris accelerates to 120 in Luffield and pulls in front of Todd.* Scott burns a wear in Luffield at 100 on the outside lane. Dave takes an RM plot at 80 to get through Luffield. Kal uses a wear at 100 on the outside of Luffield to pull even with Dave. DC burns one wear in Brooklands and starts on the outside Luffield lane for free.**

* Acceleration in the corner is only possible when the corner speed increases.
** No lane indicator was provided for the 2nd corner. Default is no wear.

Turn 26 Deadline: Saturday, July 5th @ 12 noon EDT (4 p.m. GMT)

Happy 4th of July to all!

Why is the chart grey? Hell if I know - when I'm doing this from home, quality will vary!

Deadlines will get a little smushy for awhile. Please bear with me on the delays. Adjudications may come at odd times but I will always give 48 hours between turns.

Turn 26 Summary
Mike pulls up to Becketts at 160. Fabio takes the green Cops line for free at 140. Brad plots 160 and burns a wear on the green line. Chris also burns a wear in Cops, keeping up with Brad. Todd plots 140 and get the slipstream from Chris. He's poised to enter Cops on the green line. Scott rolls on the accel table with 2 SP's (modified 4) to take his speed up to 160. Kal pushes his car to top speed at 160 and pulls in behind Scott. Dave rolls on the accel table with 2 SP's (modified 8), ramping his car up to 140 and pulls into the car line behind Kal. DC has to maintain his 80 speed through Luffield.

Turn 27 Deadline: Wednesday, July 9th at 4 p.m. EDT (8 p.m. GMT). That's probably optimistic but I'll do my best.

We've made it to Chicago. Next deadline is set for Friday night but no guarantees.

Turn 27 Summary
Mike passed through Becketts and the Chapel at 120 for free. Fabio used a wear in Becketts at 140 and can accelerate out the other side next turn. Brad plots 160 and pulls up to Becketts. Chris takes his car into Maggots at 160. Todd burns a wear in Cops at 160 to keep up with Chris. Scott uses a wear in Cops at 160 as well. Kal continues the trend, burring a wear at 160, but also takes the slipstream bonus to pull even with Scott. Dave follows suit at 160 and a wear, also grabbing the bonus to pull in behind Scott. DC takes the RM plot at 100, falling further behind the pack.

Deadline below is best case scenario...

Turn 28 Summary
Mike maxes his speed at 160 on the straight. Fabio does the same to keep up. Brad burns a wear in Becketts at 140 on the line. Chris takes Becketts for free at 120. Todd burns a wear in Becketts at 140 and pulls to the outside of Chris. Kal has the initiative at 160 and uses 2 wear on the Becketts line. Scott burns 1 wear on Becketts at 140 and is ready to accelerate out. Dave plots 160 and is forced to the outside lane on Becketts, still having to drop 2 wear in the process. DC takes the Cops line for free at 140.

A wee bit of excitement in the race - an attempted pass!

Sorry for the lateness... the vacation continues (swimming, biking, and a game of Flash Point - absolutely spot on recommendation, Todd).

Turn 29 Summary
Mike burns a wear in Stowe on the line at 140. Fabio also takes a wear in Stowe at 140. Brad maxes his speed at 160. Chris tests his top speed and plots 180. He uses his 3 SP token to avoid the dice roll. Todd hits 180 as well, his top speed. Kal tests his top speed at 180 and comes out fine after applying 2 SP to the roll (modified 5). He gets the +2 bonus and attempts a pass on Todd (to get the slip on Brad next turn). Todd blocks, adding 2 to the dice roll, while Kal applies 2 SP to the pass attempt. The roll is a 6 and 3: The pass is unsuccessful but Todd takes a wear of damage in the transaction. Scott hits his top speed of 180 and pulls in behind Kal. DC takes his car to top speed as well, pulling into the Becketts line.

As the race nears it's end, remember that place matters (Grand Prix points) so don't go too crazy! I'm trying to get a turn in on Saturday as I may have spotty access for several days after that.

Turn 30 Summary
Mike burns 2 wear through the Vale line at 120. Fabio completes Stowe at 140 and readies for Vale on the line. Brad uses a wear in Stowe at 140 on the line. Chris uses 2 wear through Stowe at 160 and is one space behind Brad. Todd burns his last wear in Stowe at 140 and pulls in behind Chris. Kal uses 2 wear on the Stowe line to pull even with Todd. Scott saves his wear at 120 through the Stowe line with a dice roll on the deceleration table (modified 7 with 2 SP applied). Scott also gets the slipstream from Kal for the bonus. Dave pulls up right in front of Stowe at 140. DC drops 2 wear in Becketts at 160 as he tries to catch up.

Two important notes:

1) Tighten up your order writing. If end lane preferences are not stated, default is inside even if it's disadvantageous.
2) The race will continue until all places are determined.

Turn 31 Summary
Mike maxes his speed at 160 on the backstretch. Fabio burns a wear on the Vale line at 100. Brad uses his last wear on Vale at 100. Chris takes off 2 wear in Vale at 120 and is forced to the 80's with the line occupied. Todd moves before Kal at 100 but does not select the line (mis-order?). Kal also plots 100 and grabs the vacant racing line for Vale. Scott hits 120 and takes the line for Vale. Dave burns a wear in Stowe at 140 and pulls in behind Scott. DC takes his car to 160 and is ready for the Stowe line.

Thanks again for your patience - the vacation continues!

Turn 32 Summary
Mike knocks down two more wear through the Abbey. Fabio takes his car to 140 on the stretch. Brad comes out of Vale at 140. Chris finishes Vale at 120 and is two spaces behind Brad. Can he catch Brad with a three wear advantage? Kal burns a wear through the Vale line at 100. Todd takes Vale at speed (60) and kindly moves off the Vale line for those behind him. Scott uses two more precious wear on the Vale line and pulls alongside Kal. Dave burns a wear in Vale at 100 and keeps up with the slip bonus. DC bumps a wear in Stowe and is ready for the Vale line. He's got plenty of wear left but is it enough to pass anyone?

Scott & Dave - you owe a nod to Todd for not blocking that line!
