Introducing the RROC IX starting line-up:

Starting 6th in the blue race car, looking to avenge his 6th place finish in RROC I, Tim Baker
Starting 5th in the yellow machine, he finished P2 in RROC VI, James Benham
Starting 4th in the red race car, the first of 2 RROC rookies, Rob Rund
Starting 3rd driving the pink car, our second rookie, Paul Bernhardt
Starting 2nd in the green machine, his 4th RROC with a best finish of P2 in RROC V, Steven Peeples
Starting on the pole in the teal racer, last year's 3rd place finisher, Jason Schultz

And there you have the starting lineup for this year's Redscape Race of Champions!

Turn 1 notes:

As expected several drivers push and all pass, details in the chart

Peeples uses his 100 start speed to grab the green line and the early lead
Schultz pushes to 80 and grabs the wing of the green race car
Bernhardt gets to 80 and tucks in behind Schultz

Rund pushes to 80 and starts the green racing line
Benham stays with Rund on the green line at 80
Baker pushes to 40 moving to the inside

Turn 2 notes:

Eau Rouge breaks up the pack leaving no slip opportunities next turn

Peeples sheds one wear on the green racing line at 160
Schultz gets a slip at 140 taking the green line for free
Rund uses dice and one wear to follow through on the green line at 160

Bernhardt at 120 gets a slip using the inner red racing line
Benham conserves wear early by taking the green line at 140
Baker taxes his engine and hears that dreadful sound

Turn 3 notes:

The top 5 line up neatly after 2 successful pushes

Peeples leads the group pushing to 180
Schultz is next in line with no push needed
Rund attaches to the group with a push to 180 as well

Bernhardt can reach 180 without taxing his engine, falling in line behind Rund
Benham stays with the group at his top speed of 180
Baker snakes through the Eau Rouge green line at 140

Turn 4 notes:

A lot of hot brakes after all the 180 plots last turn

Peeples brakes hard to 100 shedding two wear through the 60 and onto the next racing line
Schultz slows safely to 120 spending two wear in the 80s and starting the line behind the leader
Rund stands on the brakes for 100 and is one wear lighter on the Les Combes line

Bernhardt also tests the binders and follows onto the line behind Rund
Benham at 120 moves to the outside of the pink machine
Baker closes on the pack at 180

Turn 5 notes:

The field snakes through the technical section of the course

Peeples sheds two wear in the Rivage 120s at 160
Rund is two wear lighter after the Malmedy 100s at 140
Schultz takes the Malmedy racing line at 80 for free

Bernhardt throws in one wear around the Les Combes line and Malmedy 100s at 100
Benham slows to 80 for the 80s and racing line through the combination
Baker at 120 takes the outside of Les Combes for two wear and grabs the Malmedy line

No position changes but the lead is slightly larger

Peeples finishes Rivage at 160 wear paid
Rund swings around the inside of the corner at 100
Schultz follows Rund staying tucked in behind him

Bernhardt drops one wear to take the 100s at 120
Benham is also one wear lighter at 140 in the 120s
Baker runs the Malmedy racing line at 100 for free

No wear spent this turn; it's a long lap

Peeples is around the Pouhon line at 140
Rund moves into the corner at 140
Schultz follows the red machine into the corner also at 140

Bernhardt finishes the Rivage 100s at 120 wear paid
Schultz likewise is paid to finish the 120s at 140
Baker swings around the inside of Rivage at 100

Two side-by-side battles continue

Peeples slows to 80 for the Fegnes racing line
Rund starts the line into Fegnes at 120
Schultz finishes Poulon on the line at 140 and takes the inside approach

Bernhardt rounds the Poulon line at 140 for free
Benham does the same to stay side-by-side
Baker gets into the corner at 140

Rund drops two wear on the Fegnes line and starts the 140s in the next corner
Schultz follows the red machine at 100 shedding one wear on the line

Benham attacks the chicane at 120 leaving two wear behind
Bernhardt tosses in one wear to follow the line at 100
Baker finishes Poulon at 140 and starts the Fegnes line

Rund hits his top speed of 160
Schultz makes up a car length at 180

Benham at 180 gets the double slip from Schultz
Bernhardt can't catch the group at 180
Baker takes the 140s at speed

An intersting lap finish looms

Peeples takes the Bus Stop line at 100 for one wear
Benham uses two wear to run the 80s and finish inside at 120
Schultz at 120 sheds two wear also through the 80s

Rund is into the corner on the line at 100 dropping one wear
Bernhardt approaches the corner in the middle lane at 140
Baker grabs high gear and puts most of the straight behind him

Benham does 160 and keeps to the inside
Schultz gets a slip at 160 to challenge for P2

Rund can accelerate to 120 to finish the Bus Stop line

Baker tosses in two wear for the Bus Stop line

The lap win is secured but two tight battles may come down to dice

Peeples rounds LaSource on the line at 100 dropping his final wear and bearing down on the finish
Benham plots 120 then late brakes to 100 taking the line for his last wear
Schultz starts at 100 but the line is blocked so he brakes to the inside lane and P2

Rund swings wide for the racing line at 140
Bernhardt at 160 sets up in the middle lane for the final corner
Baker exits the Bus Stop at 160 maxing his reduced acceleration
