Builds are in...

Will, Mike, and Larry check in with identical builds.

Engines are all the rage with an average of 1 point dedicated to Acceleration and almost 1/2 point into Top Speed. Will Tim successfully manage his race with the smaller engine?

Brakes are much less popular with only Andrew and Donald putting a point into slowing down.

Tim will look to get out front with the only 100 Start Speed. The remainder are a mix of 60's and 20's.

Five of our nine drivers maxed out on tires. Andrew and Stephen will have to manage those corners with limited tread.

Stephen must be planning on rolling many dice; he loaded up on the green and red chips. My dice roller is salivating!

Start Bids are due on Wednesday, May 17th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon UTC)

You may bid wear and/or skill. Wear = 1 point, Skill = 0.5 points. Ties are broken with a d100. If not bid is submitted, it defaults to zero. There are no penalties for an NPR on the bidding turn.

The grid is set!

It's not every day you find a 20 SS on pole and the only 100 SS at the rear. This will be an interesting start...

As always, you may push your start by 20 mph with an 8 or less on the dice (skill recommended).

Row 1: Roach; Marshall
Row 2: Dygert; Hoyt
Row 3: Blanchett; McConchie
Row 4: MacDonald
Row 5: Koerber
Row 6: Kay

Turn 1 Deadline: Friday, May 19th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon UTC)

The green flag drops and Waltrip is on the mic: "Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing, boys!"

Turn 1 Summary

Row 1: Marshall gets the initiative at 80 with 1s on the push (modified 3) and picks up the green line. Roach pushes to 40 with a red chip (modified 0) and slides over to the middle lane.

Row 2: Dygert tosses 2s onto the push roll (modified 2) and hits 80. He opts for the inside and 2nd place. Hoyt also pushes, albeit with 1s (modified 2), and his 80 puts him on the green line.

Row 3: McConchie uses his start speed of 60 for initiative and picks up the bumper on the #55. Blanchett eases out of his grid position at 20.

Row 4: MacDonald barely makes a naked push roll to 40... cough, cough... to come alongside the #39 (natural 8).

Row 5: Koerber is in no hurry at 20.

Row 6: Kay, at 100, finds a hole before slotting in between two cars.

Turn 2 Deadline: Monday, May 22nd @ 8 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)

Kay is on the inside red line at 120 and the slip.

MacDonald gets the initiative at 100 and sets up green for Eau Rouge. Blanchett follows at 80, also riding the green line.

Koerber brings up the rear at 100 to pick up the tailpipe on the #39.

Brakes? We don't need no stinkin' brakes. Well... at least not today.

Turn 3 Summary

Marshall drops the hammer to 180 along the Kemmel Straight.

Hoyt gets the initiative by pushing the engine to 180 with 1s (modified 6). He gets the coveted double slip and pulls in front for the lead! Dygert cruises down the straight at a responsible 160.

McConchie, at 160, is half way down the Kemmel.

Kay tucks in on the #77 at 160. Roach is also at 160 (no slip requested).

MacDonald burns a wear on the green line at 160. Blanchett pushes with 1s (modified 4) to 160 and dumps a wear on the green line. Koerber (who sure made a lot of assumptions in his plot) runs Eau Rouge for free at 140 and stays on the black machine with the bonus.

Turn 4 Deadline: Monday, May 29th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon UTC)
Trigger option in effect if all plots in by Friday afternoon, otherwise it will be Monday.

Turn 4 Summary

Hoyt over-brakes to 120 with a wear before knocking down two more in the Les Combes 80's. He sets up the Malmedy line. Marshall plots 140 then late brakes prior to Les Combes with a wear. He burns two more in the 80's.

Dygert addresses Les Combes on the line at 120. McConchie grabs the line at 140.

Roach has the initiative at 160. He dives to the inside and picks up two spots on the leader board. Kay, at 140 and the bonus, slots into the middle lane.

Blanchett cruises down the Kemmel Straight at 140. Koerber drops the hammer to 180 to move out of last place.

The rookie goes to the dice cup early and puts another driver in a bind.

Turn 5 Summary

Hoyt burns a wear on the Malmedy line at 120. Marshall conserves at 100 to fall a car length behind the leader.

Dygert spends wear like a drunken sailor at 120. He takes the Les Combes line for two wear and the Malmedy inside for another two. He pulls even with the yellow machine.

Roach, at 120, hits the outer rail in Les Combes for one wear and 1s on the chance table (modified 8). He spins!

Kay is next at 100. He dives inside on Les Combes for two wear, then the Malmedy line. The bonus puts him on the bumper of the #22. McConchie, at 100, burns a wear on Les Combes (line) and another in Malmedy (inside).

MacDonald slows to 120 and is not thrilled at his options. He late brakes to 100 with a wear before taking Les Combes on the line for another.

Koerber dives into Les Combes on the line at 120 and tosses two wear into the hopper for the privilege. Blanchett, at 120, specifically asks for the outer lane. This will cause problems as Stephen can only recover from his spin at 20. A forced pass attempt is a 'comin.

Note: Bob would never end outside in a live race when faced with that situation. However, in PBEM, Redscape RM's must follow the plots as provided by drivers. Not that anyone would have predicted that spin but conditional orders are encouraged.

Trigger option in effect.

Dygert takes the initiative at 140. He burns two wear on the inner rail but misses Hoyt's bumper. Marshall conserves at 120 on the outer rail and it will cost him several positions.

Kay coughs up a wear in Rivage at 120 and, with the bonus, tucks in between two cars. McConchie clears Rivage at 120 and the bonus. He sheds a wear in the process.

MacDonald runs Malmedy for free at 100. Koerber pulls even after depositing a wear at 100 via the 80.

Roach takes an RM plot with a recovery speed of 20, the lower of start speed and accel (NPR #1: Warning). Blanchett pulls off the forced pass with 2s (modified 4). At 80, he clears both Les Combes and Malmedy. Bravo, Bob, bravo!
