"To summarize: The economy didn’t boom, investment didn’t increase, employment didn’t go up, household earnings didn’t surge, and the middle-class tax cuts started out small and then disappeared completely".

And of course--as the Fed warned at the time!--they were highly inflationary...

I would much rather see government debt reduced to nothing than tax cuts. After the debt is GONE, then give tax breaks to all.

Would you agree to tax rises to help pay the debt down for a living

If coupled with SERIOUS 20% cuts of budget across the board.... Yes, I would consider it as long as the tax increase was across the board as well as a flat percentage.

Not across the board

Some departments are bloated. Others are less so. It should be based on needs and policy, not just a simplistic "cut x%".

For example, the military budget is out of control. But environmental protections have been neglected.

Brad is very consistent: tax rates should be THE SAME, budget cuts THE SAME, etc., the amount of hours his coast guard ship had to be on the ocean THE SAME as other coast guard ships (just kidding about the last one  )...

The sea times of various cutters were kept to as close as possible. There are always minor variations.

And yet when one cutter said they should be exempt from their share in their underway time, it was (logically) considered farcical.

The same with the budgets being held sacrosanct. EVERY budget has waste. It is up to the Directors to show the good leadership and find it.
