I know New York has been more heavily hit than other areas of the country. Perhaps this is part of your reaction. Walla Walla County has 45K population and 3 deaths. That is .00006 of the population. What should be done in New York is fine. If it is so needed there, then the people will do the right thing for NY, I am sure. To close the entire nation is an overreach of my freedoms to placate the fears of others. NYC has 22,825 deaths, and 8.399 million population. That is .0027 of the population.

NYC is 452 times more likely to have a COVID death (per capita) than Walla Walla. I would hope that the difference would warrant a different response in combating the economic impact and viral impact.

You wearing a mask yet Brad? The Walla Walla infection rate is close to three times higher than NYC over the past 7 days. Hope you take care and keep you and your loved ones safe.

I hear 'em. Hope you stay healthy Brad.

Did you move to Texas, or was it just a visit?

I retired 2 months ago, left Walla Walla and my business with Cody in his capable hands. I am taking my wife and 4 children on a full time RV living. Currently we are in Texas/Oklahoma border area. Beautiful country!

Are you going to get a vaccine when you are able?

Same reason I don't get an influenza shot each year. The body needs to develop an immunity. I am not in a risk group, and I am healthy. I WANT my body to become stronger by fighting viral infections.

As Danivon showed, he did not have an immunization and was able to successfully fight the COVID-19 infection. I am truly thankful for his recovery. My family and I prayed specifically for him and his family.

I wish all my Redscape friends health and freedom.

Vaccines trigger an immune response. They dont do the fighting for you. It's just you got antibodies up and running for when the invaders come so your body can nip it in the bud before it gets a foothold. There is no evidence that natural immunity from infection is better than vaccine caused immunity. In fact, because you get two doses--causing two immune responses--vaccine immunity might be stronger.

I am not here to argue with anyone. It is a personal choice. I wish all the best with their decisions, and hope they can do the same for my choices as well.

I understand how a vaccine works, btw.

In a time of scarcity, it's best that vaccines go to people who want 'em, rather than people who don't.

But as they become more available, I hope you talk to a medical professional you trust about your beliefs about medicine. The thing about public health, is that it's not all about you, because your choices can impact others.

Just don't be that guy who refused to shut off his lights to protect merchant ships from German U-boats.

I appreciate the "Heads up". I also would rather ensure that a Cutter Labs incident not occur. Better safe than sorry considering the rush to vaccine that Trump orchestrated.

Cutter Labs?

You don't think we've learned anything since 1955.?

a) As of today over 82,000,000 does of vaccine have been administered in the US. If a Cutter Labs fiasco were occurring, it would have been identified by now.
.
b ) On the other hand about 65,000 people are still infected every day. And a total of almost 30 million have been infected with more than 500,000 dying.

Seems to me the relative risks are a) almost zero
b) in the single digits of percentile.

I don't know what a two week stay in intensive care would cost you either emotionally, physically or economically but I buy life insurance being concerned with even lower probabilities...
