Considering the Montana Special election with a Republican candidate allegedly assaulting a reporter after a third of available votes were cast before election day; does this sway anyone's opinion of the effect of the electorate voting early?

Nope. Ok, so an early voter (or absentee voter) has less information than a voter who waits until Election Day. But what about differential levels of information not between a voter who votes early and Election Day but between different voters? Some voters are going to be more than informed than others but we are not going to get into assessing the adequacy of how each voter is informed with regard to a candidate or ballot measure. You have the vote...YOU make the decision as to whether to vote 30-60 days before the election or on the day of the election; YOU decide how informed you want to be. Early voting is only an issue because Repiblicans feel if they curb it then less Democrats will vote. But there is no reason to treat early voting differently from absentee voting, which Republicans have no problem with. I am all for more people voting...even if some of them voted for Trump. Heck, I am sure a lot of Trump voters waited until Election Day...did not seem to help their decision-making any!

I think it is ridiculous that the Senator-elect was only charged with a misdemeanour. If it had been a felony, wouldn't he have been likely to lose his seat and create a new special election?
