Terrible news - two bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, another at the JFK library. Two people dead and lots injured.
Hope the MA scapers are all safe and well.

I have read the JFK Library was an unrelated fire in a utility room.

The first bomb went off less than a block from where I was working. Emergency teams responded very quickly and our building was evacuated shortly thereafter. It's certainly nasty business though. Last tally I saw was 3 deaths and more than 130 injured.

not to make light of a tragic event, but what is "funny" is how small our world can be. I live a long ways from Boston and while I do not know anyone who was there personally, the degree of separation is so small! My daughters roommate from college was nearby, my brothers co-worker was nearby (and funny thing is it sounds like these two who do not know one another were probably standing next to one another at the time). Here we also find Alpha was nearby. It's a small world, when terrorists strike anywhere, it is felt around the world, my heart goes out to all those affected by this, I hope we catch these people and make examples out of them.

Absolutely horrifying.
Many lost limbs.
I want to know who it was.
I'm going to Fenway this Saturday. That should be interesting.
Heard from Sedric. Seems all Redscapers are okay.
Intellectually and theologically, I can explain what happened. Emotionally, viscerally? I can't. I can neither understand what motivates someone to murder the innocent or to think this is an effective tool for protesting whatever it is they are protesting.

I got goosebumps watching the national anthem at last nights Bruins/Sabres hockey game. It was the first large gathering in Boston since the tragedy and the singer started the anthem but was quickly drowned out by the entire stadium singing with him. I have been to MANY sporting events and have never witnessed anything even close to that!

alleged?
when can we stop calling them alleged?
They killed several people, tossed bombs out a car window, the faces match those who carried the backpacks to the scene, they have been know to support terrorism in different ways, and they told the man they carjacked that they were indeed the bombers....alleged?

Do we know their motivation? Is it related to Islam and/or Chechnya or it something else?

Indeed. They've already been tried and convicted in the court of media and public assumption. No need to any of that trial business...

Trial? We're unlikely to end up with anyone alive to try.

As time goes on, it becomes more evident they had become radicalized.
