Nope.
Bottom line: at least some in the press were determined to control the messaging of the trip. Romney didn't want that.
Shocking.

A slightly different take on the trip to Poland than you might receive from the Obama-worshiping media:
It's striking that in these remarks, Romney chooses to speak not as a "citizen of the world" but as a citizen of the free world. He suggests that American exceptionalism isn't a basis for some sort of arrogant disdain for the rest of the world, but rather provides the grounds for a duty to stand with others around the world fighting for freedom. And he explains that, in the case of Poland but also beyond the case of Poland, the spirit of liberty can be allied with the spirit of faith, and the courage of rebellion with the power of truth.
It would be an irony if, on a foreign trip which most of his campaign regarded as a diversion from the allegedly all-important and all-consuming topic of jobs, jobs, jobs, Mitt Romney found his voice to speak about the deeper issue at stake in the 2012 election and beyond, the question of what America stands for and what America means.

Why won't the President answer questions?President Obama has not taken a serious question from the White House press corps in nearly seven weeks, a remarkable string that points to a campaign-style White House operation that is seeking to insulate the candidate from tough cross examination.
The last substantive question Obama took from a White House reporter was during a June 20 press conference following the G20 Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico. Obama allowed only six questions during the event, which was nearly guaranteed to keep him out of political hot water as the focus was on foreign policy.
Since then, Obama has held no press conferences, given no interviews to White House reporters, and taken no questions at the White House events he has held where reporters have been present.
After a July 26 Cabinet meeting, Obama actually laughed off the prospect of taking a serious question about gun laws.
Can we expect to see the press corps shouting, "Are you afraid of making gaffes?" as the President gets into a limo?

Is he on a campaign tour to show how great he is at wooing your strongest allies?
If not, your post is, sadly, off-topic.

Nope, it's spot-on. Romney's dodging?
It's your man.

Could it be that they both are?
Obama ain't 'my' man. My man in the 2012 election is Stewart Alexander
