That would be a crime. However, arresting him for it would take what we like to call "evidence." Now, if it actually happened, one might have expected his estranged wife and father-in-law to have told the police and insisted he be arrested. Instead, they declined to press charges.

And had his father in law swung at him, I'm sure he'd claim he felt his life was threatened... which makes the father in laws retreat in the face of the threat from Zimmerman judicious.

The only reason to fear Zimmerman would be if you ambushed him and proceeded to give him some "ground and pound."

Oh and an allegation by the current victim that he had choked her in an unreported incident (as well as threatening her with a gun). And just about always--guns. Just think what he would do with a gun if he ran into someone who decided to fight back...?
