Yeah, we might have had such a discussion...instead we let Hacker and Ricky duke it out for 4 pages and stood along the sidelines avoiding the carnage...such is Redscape.

Yes I'm partly to blame. But I was trying to get off the subject of Washington/genocide; I really wanted an intellectual discussion on how leaders are good and bad, why, what criteria. It was never meant to be a verbal boxing match. For my part, I must share at least some blame for that. I' not the world's superior thinker myself, but I was at least hoping we could come up with something involving individual thought...not just yet another thread of throwing "sources" in each others' faces ad infinitum. Though again, I share the blame: whether I started the thread or not I should have disappeared somewhere around page two, myself.
Didn't mean to ignore you at all, Freeman!
Frankly both of you are boring the hell out of me.
I feel like a stiff drink at this point, actually...

Don't worry about it. There are two types of regulars on this board. Those who love to butt heads repeatedly, never giving an inch on any subject till the thread runs to 27 pages and reason left the building sometime in September and those who dip in and out, pick and choose when to engage and when to let it lie and mostly retain their sanity. I leave it to you to decide who fits in what category. All I'd say is that there's a little bit of the former in all of us, but it's far better to be one of the latter...
