Fifth Circuit Hears Texas' Same Sex Marriage Lawsuit

The Texas defence of a ban on gay marriage is that marriage is a "subsidy" designed to support procreation.

Cue incredulous judge...

Awesome.

Does anybody remember Lawrence v. Texas? My [former] congressman, a "rather" conservative Republican, Roscoe Bartlett, wrote in a letter to me (i wrote him about the subject of same-sex marriage at the time when he was still in ofifce) and he called the ruling of Lawrence v. Texas in favor of Lawrence "the greatest case of judicial overreach since Roe v. Wade." (Though PLEASE let's not get into THAT one!)

I wish I had written back "I dunno Congressman, I think Texas had it coming."
