What is it with Obama's communistic insistence upon down-playing individual effort and instead lauding the essential role of the larger community? Now he says to our Olympians:
“You Olympians, however, know you didn’t get here solely on your own power....communities built venues in order to organize competitions. All Olympians stand on the shoulders of those who lifted them. We’ve already cheered the Olympians, let’s also cheer the ...communities. All right! [pumps fist].”

Weird, huh?

Except it was Romney (in 2002), not Obama. For the full quote in full context without deletions to make it sound more extreme: CLICK.

Sorry... I must have my fun.

Purple, I agree with you that the entire "Community" comment is becoming more than it should be. A President should be judged upon his actions, and the validity of his word.

In both of those areas, he is severely lacking in my opinion.

We have covered the validity of his word in other forums. Some think it does not matter what Obama says. I say if he gives his word, and he does not follow through, then there is a broken promise. I blamed GHW Bush, and I do the same here. (Non-Partisan).

As to his actions:
Where do I begin...

Apples and coconuts, but thanks. I guess MSNBC running with this for a full day was not enough.

I don't have cable and don't get to see MSNBC. My source was the link I gave: "The Moderate Voice". BTW apples and coconuts are both fruit.

And, they both taste about the same . . .

"The Moderate Voice": they certainly have an editorial appearance of moderation. However, when you look at the actual posts, it's pretty tough to find one that is critical of the President. On the other hand, there is Romney-bashing aplenty and some serious stretching of the truth, like the headline that reads "Romney Adviser Who Hit Obama on Leaks Was Involved in Scooter Libby Scandal."

This is absolute trash.

Edelman served under former Vice President Dick Cheney in the 1990s. From February 2001 to June 2003, he worked as Principal Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs, where he served directly under former Cheney aide Scooter Libby. According to the Justice Department, Edelman, identified as “Principal Deputy” in Scooter Libby’s indictment, originally suggested the idea to Libby to start leaking information about Joe Wilson’s trip to Niger.

She was not covert. Libby was not the source. Edelman was mentioned in an indictment. Was Libby convicted of leaking? No. Was Edelman indicted? No. Was he put on trial? No. Was the allegation in the indictment proven anywhere in the article? No.

Pure smear.

That story, which ignores the true source and reframes the scandal being about Libby is ridiculous. I could take apart most of the posts there. It is lefty propaganda, for the most part.

Yes, "The Moderate Voice" has indeed become very disenchanted with Republicans generally. When it started out it was much less so; it's shifted over time. I just don't know how to explain it.
