Kevin may have been anxious. He seems to have run up on Stephen's rear end.

T1.png
T1: All the pushes are successful. With the front row having no access to the first racing line, Stephen spends a wear to jump out in front.

T2.png
T2: Mike's already mis-plotting. He dropped a 120 but the highest legal speed is 100, which he then has to roll for. Sigh...

T3.png
T3: Stephen stuffs the chasers but otherwise everything stays orderly.

T4.png
T4: Stephen has space... for now.

T5.png
T5: Both Rob and Doug drop the hammer to 180! Three wide going into a very slow corner with two cars coming in hot.

T6.png
T6: Rob goes first at 160?! He late brakes to 100 with 2w and dice before dropping two more on the line. Doug plots 140 and burns a wear plus dice to get to 100. He sheds two more wear for the corner. Stephen plots 120 and also late brakes with a wear plus dice. He spends one more in the corner. That's nine wear and three dice rolls amongst three drivers. The back-markers are not unhappy.

T7.png
T7: Rob burns two more wear to earn some space. Kevin drops four tires and finds himself in 3rd place. Tim and Rando spend two each. Oh yeah, Mike mis-plots again. Sigh...

T8.png
T8: Brent spends four to clear some slow corners. Rob has a healthy lead.

T9.png
T9: Three-wide going into Corner 7. Only Doug has cleared to challenge the leader.

T10.png
T10: Brent mis-reads the corner and has to late brake. He's getting into the thick of it but his burn rate is high.

Backyardigans are awesome

T11.png
T11: As Kevin likes to say, they are stacked & packed going into Corner 8.

T12.png
T12: Doug smashes the gas pedal to hit 180 and challenges Rob! Tim & Kevin burn wear for position. Stephen hears a bad noise from his brakes as he gets caught up in traffic.

T16.png
T16: Kevin & Stephen are tussling for 3rd. Rando continues to drive responsibly.

T17.png
T17: Stephen spends some wear to nab 3rd, outright.

T18.png
T18: Doug drops the hammer again. The dice have been good to him.

T19.png
T19: The cars approach Corner 4, mostly in pairs.

T20.png
T20: Three cars are clear of Corner 4. Stephen survives a brake check while Rando runs out of room and must double late brake.

T21.png
T21: Corner 4 takes it's toll once again. Tim overbrakes to survive.

T22.png
T22: The dance continues at the front, Stephen has some clean air and Rando late brakes to save some wear (eschewing the potential 3-wide).

T23.png
T24: The chase pack catches up to Stephen and adds him to the peleton.

T24.png
T24: There goes Doug again. Brent squats on the racing line, disrupting quite a few plans.

T25.png
T25: A rare, clean board.

T26.png
T26: More late braking for Rando.

T27.png
T27: Once again, Doug & Rob clear the hairpin while the chase pack gets stacked & packed.

Wear counts at start of lap 3
Kevin 2
Stephen 6
Rando 7
Rob 4
Tim 4
Brent 4
Doug 4
Mike 13

T28.png
T28: Stephen spins in the hairpin! Technically, he should have spun two spaces further as he breaks the line but this was not considered until after we started the next turn. He would have to stay there.

T29.png
T29: Three wide into Corner 1. Stephen lets Mike pass unhindered.

T30.png
T30. Doug & Rob have been here before. Stephen red lines the engine and the black smoke is enough to convince him to park the car.

T31.png
T31: Mike makes contact with the chase pack.

T32.png
T32: Rando slow speeds the corner to stuff some traffic. Kevin goes outside to clear, Tim gets stuffed, while Mike uses the slip to conduct a forced pass (2s) on a blocking Rando.

T33.png
T33: Rando pushes the engine but Kevin gets past him with the bonus.

T34.png
T34: Doug & Rob move from the waltz to the tango.

T35.png
T35: Kevin over-brakes to save wear.

T36.png
T36: Rando's attempt to force pass a blocking Brent comes to naught, even with the big chip (I believe there was an 11 on the dice). He then has to burn wear & skill on late braking.

T37.png
T37: Kevin mis-plots, forgetting about the little 120 corner. He late brakes from 160 and burns his last wear on the corner.

T38.png
T38: Rob's turn to drop the hammer! Rando grabs the dice cup and dives into Corner 7. Oh no.... spin!

T39.png
T39: Mike lays down some skill to hit 180. Rando honorably clears off the line for Tim.

T40.png
T40: Rob's coming into the hairpin at 140 with no wear. Doug flies in at 160 with one wear. Next turn will be interesting.

T41.png
T41: The leaders successfully brake down to clear the hairpin. It's going to be a dice-off to the finish line.

T42.png
T42: Rob fails his engine test while Doug makes his. A great finish! Mike is a lock for 3rd and Brent clears the hairpin with a chance roll for fourth.
