Two spins and lots of movement in the standings!

Turn 26 Summary

Schultz shoots out to a lengthy lead at 140.

McConchie saves his last wear for later and rounds Surtees at 80. Harley also saves the last wear and is able to clear Surtees on the line at 80.

Moratto goes for broke by diving into the Surtees 60 at 100. He burns his last wear and tosses in the red chip on the chance (modified 9). He needed every bit of that skill to avoid the tire barrier but does spin out.

MacDonald is out of Graham Hill and onto the Surtees line at 80.

Hoyt has the initiative at 100. He clips a tire on the line and has the inside in front of Surtees. Marshall eases his way around Graham Hill at 60.

Bernhardt drops a wear on the line at 100 before finding a hole along the Cooper Straight, moving up two spots. Moore is through Graham Hill at 80 on the line.

Blanchett tops a wear at 80 on the Druids line. Schipper hits Druids at 100 for his last two wear but just can't find the right dice for the chance attempt (natural 9). Round and round he goes.

Turn 27 Summary

Schultz is around Hawthorns at 120 with only three more corners to victory. McConchie pulls up on the Hawthorns line at 120.

Harley, with initiative, gives his engine a nudge with 2s (modified 8) and hits 140. Moratto comes out of his spin at 60.

Hoyt is through Surtees at 60, squats on the line, and just happens to pick up a bumper.

Bernhardt sheds two wear on the inside rail at 100 to pull even with the #42. MacDonald finds his line blocked at 100 and runs outside with his big chip (modified 3).

Marshall saves his last wear for later and runs the Surtees line at 80. Moore dives to the inside at 80 for a wear and position.

Blanchett is through the Hill Bend at 80 on the line. Schipper gets distracted for his 3rd NPR. The RM plot is 40 but without the means to pay the 2w penalty, he both spins and takes brake damage. FYI - a 4th NPR (or 3rd within a single lap) results in a DQ.

McConchie and Harley take turns through Stirlings at 100 apiece. Both are now on bald tires.

Moratto and Hoyt trade paint through several corners at 140 each.

Bernhardt, at 140 and the bonus, makes it a three-wide going into Stirlings. Marshall does not use the slip at 140, although he technically could have. However, he explicitly states not to use that ‘stupid 2 space lane’ .

MacDonald pulls in behind the black machine at 140 and the bonus. Moore, at 140, tucks in on the yellow car. David could have also been in that stupid 2 space lane but for explicitly asking to end in the middle.

Blanchett burns a wear at 140 on the Hawthorns line. Schipper tallies his 4th NPR of the race and is called in under a black flag His day is finished on the track but the race marshals may not be done with him  .

Marshall plots 80 and rolls for the over-brake (natural 3). He then uses 2s on the forced pass of the blue machine (modified 4) and, with the bonus, moves up several positions. MacDonald goes outer rail at 80.

Moore gets hung in Stirlings at 80. Blanchett plays catch-up at 140.

Marshall pushes to 180 w/ 2s (modified 5) and has the initiative. He crosses for 4th place. Bernhardt brings his compromised engine home at 140 and 5th place.

That was a good race, lots of action from the get go on one of those tracks that always seems to be tempting you to spend another wear...
