Drivers,

We are going with eleven. Matthias has not responded to any communications and is removed from the race.

As for builds, there is only one duplicate (Moratto & MacDonald). All others are unique. The six cars with 100 start speed might make pole bidding interesting!

Start bid deadline: Wednesday, June 15th @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. UTC)

Pole bids can be in a combination of wear (1 point) and skill (1/2 point). Ties are broken with a d100 die for highest roll. If no bid is received, it is assumed to be a bid of zero.

The grid is set...

There were quite a few ties to break on the grid, the most meaningful one at the front. Harley runs away with the pole while Schultz edges out Hoyt for the 2nd spot on the front row.

The remaining ties also determined row placement. MacDonald beats out Schipper for row 3, McConchie edges Moratto for row 4, and Marshall gets row 5 over Moore, left in the rear by himself.

For those newer to the game, you can push your start by 20 mph. It's one of the tougher rolls so skill is recommended.

Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing boys!

The lights go out and the cars are off...

Turn 1 Summary
The front row pushes: Harley drops a big chip on the roll (modified 6) and careens around the Paddock Hill Bend at 120 for two wear. Schultz puts in 2s (modified 3) for 120 and tosses in a wear for the line.

Row two: Hoyt runs the racing line for free at 100. Bernhardt clips a tire at 100 in the 80 spot for third.

Row three: MacDonald gets the initiative at 80 with 2s on the push (modified 3) and grabs the line. Blanchett tucks in behind the M&M's car at 60.

Row four: McConchie has the initiative at 100 and dives to the inside lane. Schipper pushes to 80 (natural 7) and grabs a bumper.

Row five: Marshall has the initiative at 100. He slots in between two cars to make it three-wide going into the Bend. Moratto tosses in a skill chip for the push to 80 (modified 5) and eschews the line for the inside.

Row six: Moore eases on out at 20 and is looking forward to some clean air.

Lots of jockeying for position...

Turn 2 Summary

Harley dumps two wear on the Druids line at 100. Schultz gets behind him, also for two wear at 100.

Bernhardt clips two tires at 100 as he gets in line behind the #15. Hoyt finishes out Paddock at 100 and readies for Druids on the line.

MacDonald has the initiative at 140. He runs the Paddock line for two wear. McConchie burns two wear on the inside and sets up another three-wide going into Druids.

Blanchett shaves a wear on the Paddock line at 120. Schipper takes the Paddock 80 at 100 for a wear to maintain position. Marshall keeps the cars at three-wide, going 100 in the 80 spot.

Moratto clears Paddock via the 80 spot at 80. Moore pushes his engine to 120 with 1s (modified 6) and grabs the Paddock line.

Dropping from three lanes to two in traffic is, as our fellow driver Brad B. likes to say, like 'stuffing ten pounds of shit into a five pound bag.'

Turn 3 Summary

Harley slows his roll to 80 and takes the Graham Hill Bend line for free. Schultz continues at 100 and gets pushed to the outer rail for a wear. Bernhardt keeps the pace at 100 and has the line for the next bend.

Hoyt gets the initiative and loses two tires on the Druids line at 100. MacDonald, at 80, scrubs two wear in the middle 40's. McConchie, also at 80, burns two tires on the inner rail to move up the leader board.

Schipper posts 100 before late braking to 80 for a wear. He clears the inner rail for two more tires. Marshall also clears Druids. He takes the line for two wear at 100. Blanchett ducks to the inside at 60 as he tosses a wear on the inner rail.

Moratto dives into Druids on the line at 100 at a cost of two wear. Moore cranks the engine to 140 to drop two wear on the Paddock line.

The field has stayed relatively compact so far...

Turn 4 Summary

Harley clears Surtees on the line at 120 at a cost of two wear.

Schultz chooses the inside position in front of Surtees. Bernhardt runs the Graham Hill Bend at 80 for free and tucks in on the bumper of the #15.

Hoyt gets the initiative at 100. He clips a tire on the Hill line and sets up the next line. At 80, McConchie burns a tire on the inner rail of the Bend.

MacDonald rounds the Hill Bend at 80 on the line for free.

Schipper plots 100 and, not liking what he sees, late brakes down to 80 (natural 6) then takes the line for free. Marshall goes outer rail at 100 and sheds a tire.

Blanchett finishes Druids at 60 and chugs up Graham Hill onto the next racing line. Moratto is out of Druids at 100 and moves up a position.

Moore scrubs a wear at 100 to clear Druids on the racing line.

A conga line forms on Cooper Straight...

Turn 5 Summary

Harley gets way out in front at 140 and picks up the line for Hawthorns. Schultz drops two wear in Surtees at 100.

Hoyt gets the initiative at 120 to burn two tires on the Surtees line. He has the bumper on the #15 Chevy. Bernhardt rubs out two wear on the inner rail at 100.

McConchie clips a tire at 80 via the Surtees inside 60. MacDonald tosses in a wear at 100 on the racing line to clear.

Marshall gets the initiative at 120. He late brakes to 100 (1w) and spends a couple more wear to clear Surtees on the inside. Schipper, at 100, doesn't like his choices. He grabs the dice cup for a late brake (natural 5) and sets up the line at 80.

Moratto runs the outer rail on the Graham Hill Bend at 100 for a wear before tucking in on the red machine.

Blanchett clears the Bend for free at 80 on the line. Moore follows the #39, also at 80, to represent the end of the conga line.

Traffic congestion picks up in Hawthorns...

Turn 6 Summary

Harley extends his lead at 140, knocking down one wear on the Hawthorns line. Schultz, at the head of the chase pack, runs the line for free at 120.

Hoyt gets pushed outside at 140 and dumps a wear. Bernhardt, with no place to use his 140, late brakes for a wear and takes the Hawthorns line for free.

McConchie pulls up to Hawthorns on the line at 140.

At 160, Marshall takes the inside lane. MacDonald chugs up Hawthorn Hill at 120.

Schipper gets distracted and takes an RM plot of 80 to clear Surtees for free (NPR #1: Warning). Moratto follows, also at 80.

Blanchett also plots 80 and clears Surtees on the line. Moore, at 100 and with a blocked line, opts for the outer rail for one wear.

Several things to note...

1. Sheene's Curve switches inside/outside halfway through. Russ is on the innermost lane that he could get to.

2. David could have increased speed from 100 to 120 this turn. You may only increase speed in a corner if, in the first space entered, you do not incur additional wear cost. He had already paid one wear by virtue of traveling through the 80 at 100 on the previous turn. He would have been free to plot 120 this turn given the speed limit of 100 in the remainder of the corner.

3. I think the 80 may have been a mis-plot from David but Redscape RM's are prohibited from making suggestions or asking for clarifications. We go with what you send.

I'm not trying to pick on David here but there are some novices in the field and it seems appropriate to make rules comments, ex-post to the adjudication, of course.

Turn 7 Summary

Harley is through Westfield at 140 and is in Sheene's Curve.

Schultz clears Westfield at 140. Hoyt, also at 140, catches the bumper on the #15.

Bernhardt finishes out Hawthorns at 120.

McConchie gets the initiative at 140. He burns a wear in Hawthorns before pulling alongside the #43. Marshall runs the Hawthorns 120's for free on the outer rail.

MacDonald runs the racing line at 140 for a wear and comes alongside the Pennzoil in the Derek Minter Straight.

Schipper clips a tire at 140 on the Hawthorns line. Moratto sets up Hawthorns on the line at 120, refusing the slip.

Blanchett takes the inside position on the green and black machine. Moore slows to 80 as he exits Surtees and down Pilgrims Drop.

Turn 8 Summary

Harley clips a tire in Stirlings at 100.

Schultz cozies up to Stirlings on the inside at 120. Hoyt pulls alongside at 140.

McConchie gets the initiative at 160, burns a wear in Westfield, and takes the outer rail for a three-wide entering Stirlings. Bernhardt tucks in on the #15 at 140.

Marshall and MacDonald trade paint through Westfield and Dingle Dell at 140 apiece.

Schipper clears Westfield at 140.

Moratto has the initiative at 140 and scrubs a wear on the Hawthorns line. Blanchett knocks down a wear at 120 via the Hawthorns 100's.

Moore pulls up to Hawthorns at 100 on the inside lane.

Stirlings takes its toll on the tires...

Turn 9 Summary

Harley clears the Clark Curve at 100 for a wear.

Hoyt has initiative at 120 and knocks down two wear in Stirlings. McConchie, also at 120, is next and burns two of his wear.

Schultz moves last out of the row at 100. He sheds a wear in Stirlings and sets up behind the pair of Chevies. Bernhardt stays on the bumper of the #15 at 100 and a wear.

Marshall and MacDonald continue to run side-by-side at 100. They take turns through the Stirlings 80, each clipping one tire.

Schipper pulls up to Stirlings at 140.

Moratto gives up a tire in Westfield at 160. Blanchett keep the pace at 140 and the bonus.

Moore drops two wear in Hawthorns at 140.

Turn 10 Summary

Harley crosses the line into lap 2 at 140.

Hoyt stays on the inside rail at 100 for a wear. McConchie goes middle lane at 100 for free and tucks in behind the blue machine.

Schultz follows the #77 through the middle at 100 and gets in line. Bernhardt hits the gas pedal and careens around Clark at 140 with two wear coming off.

Marshall also smashes his foot on the gas to 140. He knocks down two wear and clears Clark. MacDonald gets in behind the #22 at 120, costing a wear.

Against the advice of his handlers, Schipper decides not to slow down for Stirlings. At 140, he rubs off two wear and 1s on the chance (modified 6). He then plows into Clark on the inside for another two wear and 1s on the dice (modified 7). The tires don't stick and 'round goes the red machine!

Moratto drops a wear in Stirlings at 100. Blanchett is through the corner at 80 for free.

Moore burns a wear in Westfield at 160 to play catch up.
