Turn 14 Summary

Miller dives into the Jacky Ickx chicane at 120 and bumps two wear.

Welage and Rund cross paths down the straight at 140 each.

Long stays on pace at 140.

Swaine pulls out of the hairpin at 120. Beckman also posts 120 and gains space with the bonus.

Baker clears the hairpin at 80 with wear deposited last turn.

Peeples hits the hairpin on the outer rail at 80 for 2 wear before squatting on the racing line. Fritz, with line blocked, follows the red machine at 80, costing 2 wear.

Rae burns 2 wear at 80, outer rail. Schultz can't use his plotted 80 so he late brakes with 1s (modified 8) and glides into the Bolderberg hairpin on the line for a wear.

Puddifoot pulls up to the hairpin at 80 on the line.

Turn 15 Summary

Miller is nose across the S/F line at 120.

Welage and Rund match speeds again at 100. They bottle up the exit row of the Jacky Ickx for one wear apiece.

Long is into the chicane for a wear at 100. Beckman burns 2 wear to enter the corner at 120.

Swaine pulls up at 120. Baker cruises towards the Ickx chicane at 140.

Fritz hops on Tim's bumper at 160. Peeples pushes the engine (natural 4) to match the speed of the blue machine.

Both Schultz and Rae keep the pace at 140 and the bonus.

Puddifoot is content to save wear at 40 through the Bolderburg hairpin on the the line.

As the field goes by the starting line, here's a photo from the start of the 1984 Belgian GP at Zolder, a front row lock-out from Ferrari. Was safety not an issue then? I don't think I would stand there...

Turn 16 Summary

With a comfortable lead, Miller keeps his engine in check at the 140 top.

Welage flies down the main straight at 160. Rund tucks in at 140 as they both cross into lap 2.

Long finishes out the Jacky Ickx at 100. Beckman follows at 120 and slides back towards the rail.

Swaine clears the chicane at 100 for a wear. Baker knocks down 2 wear at 120 to continue the conga line.

Peeples plots 140 then late brakes to 120 (natural 9). A little smoke but no fire from the pads, he drops 2 wear in the chicane. Fritz burns a wear at 100 and cedes the inside to extend the line of cars to six.

Rae gladly takes the inside lane after taking advantage of the bonus and spending one wear in the corner. Schultz conservatively pulls up at 80.

Puddifoot uses the big engine at 120 but still has some catching up to do.

Turn 17 Summary

Miller clears Earste at 100 on the line.

Welage sets up the line in front of Earste at 160. Rund, at 140 and the bonus, takes inside position.

Beckman will have some company at 140. Long pulls alongside the Superbird at 160.

Swaine makes it three-wide at 160 and the bonus. Baker keeps the pace, also at 160 and the slip. Peeples joins the club at 160 and the bonus.

Fritz gets the initiative and keeps the conga line intact at 180. Rae pulls into line at 160.

Schultz saves wear at 80. Puddifoot dumps 2 wear in the Jacky Ickx at 120.

Turn 18 Summary

Miller keeps the car tight on the rail at 120 through Observatory. That's two wear for the race leader

Welage gets the initiative at 120. He drops a wear on the line and escapes from his racing partner. Rund loses pace at 80 and goes inside for free.

Long has the initiative at 140. He burns two tires on the line to pull even with the blue Fred's Toyota. Swaine is next at 140. He brakes down to 120 before the corner (natural 8) and rides the line for a wear. Beckman is last at 120. He goes outer rail for a wear and ducks inside after the curve.

Baker clips a tire at 120 on the line. Peeples clears Earste on the line for free at 100 and the bonus.

Fritz grabs the Earste line at 120. Rae dives inside at 140.

Schultz rumbles across the S/F line and into lap 2 at 160. Puddifoot puts the nose of his Ford across the line at 120, wear already paid.

The dice finally bite...

Turn 19 Summary

Miller is through the Channel at 120. Welage loses some pace as he goes 100 on the outer rail of Observatory.

Long gets the initiative at 100. He sheds a wear on the inside of Observatory and looky there... the bumper on the M&M's Toyota. Rund slows to 80 and clogs the exit row on the inside.

Swaine pulls up next to the #64 at 120 and a wear on the outside.

Baker gets the initiative at 120 and runs Observatory on the outside for a wear. Beckman pulls up at 80. Peeples comes alongside at 100.

Rae goes outer rail in Earste at 120 for a wear. Fritz runs the line for free at 100.

Schultz burns a tire to clear Earste on the line at 120. Puddifoot makes up some ground at 180.

Turn 20 Summary

Miller tosses in a tire to clear Bianchi at 120.

Welage keeps it steady at 120 through the Channel. Long matches the speed and gets yet another slip from the yellow Toyota.

Rund, at 120, also gets the bonus and pulls into Chris' exhaust. Swaine cruises through the Channel turn at 120. Baker gets in line at 120.

Beckman burns two wear at 120 on the inner lane in Observatory. Peeples conserves at 100 and goes outer wall. A gap in the line?

Not for long. Rae takes his 120 outside for a wear and, with the bonus, tucks in between two cars to re-form the chain. Fritz goes outside at 100 and represents the anchor for the conga line.

Schultz pulls up to Observatory at 100. Puddifoot eases through Earste on the line at 100.

The dice gods are in a foul mood (Bengals fans?).

Turn 21 Summary

Miller stretches his lead at 140 down the back-straight.

Welage runs the Bianchi line for free at 100. Long, also at 100, goes outer rail and tucks into his favorite position.

Rund finds an open racing line at 100. Swaine plots 120 and, not finding things to his liking, late brakes to 100 (natural 10). A loud pop and some smoke from the pads cost a wear and compromise the brake system going forward.

Baker finds room on the outside to use up all of his 120 speed and the bonus at a cost of one wear. Beckman burns a wear on the line at 120.

Rae sets up the Bianchi line at 120. Peeples dives inside at 120 and the bonus. Fritz keeps up, also at 120 and the slip.

Schultz rounds Observatory on the inside at 80. Puddifoot clears the corner on the outer rail at 100.

Turn 22 Summary

Miller slows to 100 before the chicane and may have some company soon.

Welage hits the gas pedal to 160. Rund pushes the engine (natural 2) and keeps up at 160. Long, at 160, receives yet another bonus from the yellow racer to pull even.

Baker finishes out Bianchi at 120. Swaine, at 100, pulls into his exhaust. Beckman is on the side panel of the #19 at 120.

Rae gets the initiative at 120 and clips a tire on the line. Peeples goes outer rail at 100 and leaves the door open for the #24. Fritz, at 100, takes the line for free and gives a nod to the #7.

Schultz and Puddifoot cruise through the Channel at 120 apiece.

Turn 23 Summary

Feeling some pressure, Miller drops two wear in the chicane at 100.

Welage and Long clear the chicane at 100 each. Rund follows for two wear but gets hung in the corner at 100.

Baker pulls up to the Kliene chicane at 140. Beckman gets the initiative and gains a position at 140. Swaine trades places with the Pontiac at 120 and the bonus.

Rae drops the hammer to 180 with 2s (modified 2). He passes two cars and into the top half of the field with a boatload of fresh tires.

Fritz has initiative as he takes advantage of his big engine. No dice for 180 required here. Peeples tucks in at 160.

Schultz clears Bianchi at 100 for free. Puddifoot joins his fellow back marker by dropping a wear at 120.

Turn 24 Summary

Miller is over the rise at 140.

Welage and Long make the long climb up Sacrament hill at 160. The orange racer is only one car length away.

Rund continues at 100 with already paid wear.

Baker burns two at 100 in the chicane. Rae over-brakes to 100 for a wear and drops two more in the chicane.

Beckman clips two tires in the Kliene chicane at 100. Swaine eases up to 80 and sheds a wear.

Even Fritz's robust brake system is not enough to get to 80. He passes a brake test (natural 5) before clearing the chicane for a wear. Peeples deposits two wear at 100 to clear.

Schultz runs down the back straight at 160. Puddifoot drops the hammer to 180 and pulls alongside the #15.

Turn 25 Summary

Miller conserves wear at 120 and is hung up in Terlamen (b).

Welage runs the line for free at 120. Long, at 120 and once again, finds himself right on John's bumper.

Rund pushes the engine to 160 and opts for the inside (natural 5).

Rae drops the hammer 180 and tosses in a green chip to aid the effort (modified 5). He finds an open line. Baker, at 160, grabs the Terlamen line.

Beckman, at 140 and the slip, takes the inside lane. Swaine keeps the pace, also at 140 and the bonus.

Fritz pushes his big engine to hit its top speed of 180 (natural 5). Peeples is over the Butte rise at 160.

Puddifoot clears the chicane at 100 for two wear. Schultz spends a wear at 80 only to get hung in the chicane.

Turn 26 Summary

Miller finishes out Terlamen at 120 and should be expecting company next turn.

Welage clears the corner at 120. Long, at 120 and the bonus, pulls up on the numbers of the #18.

At 120, Rund goes outside to inside in Terlamen and finds the exit row. Rae, also at 120, runs the line
then to the outside in 7b to block the exit.

Baker plots 140. He burns a wear on the racing line then goes inside in 7b for another wear. He puts 2sk in the forced pass of the blue Toyota (modified 2). He's through and moves up two spots on the leaderboard.

Beckman runs the line to the inside of 7b at 120.

Fritz gets the initiative at 140. He burns one wear on the racing line then shoots outside in 7b. Swaine, at 120, take the line for free.

Peeples pulls even with the green Toyota at 120 and the bonus.

Puddifoot drops the hammer to 180 then zooms up Sacrament Hill and over the rise at Butte. Schultz finds himself all alone at 80.

A Redscape rookie learns the vagaries of the plotting rules.

Turn 27 Summary

Miller goes all in at 100. He burns two wear and tosses 2s on a chance roll (modified 7). The dice gods spit on the track and round goes the orange car. Max 40 next turn.

Long gets the initiative at 140. He late brakes with 2s (modified 2) and grabs the racing line. Welage goes inside at 120.

Baker pulls up on the wing of the red machine at 140.

Rund glides in behind the double zero at 140. Rae has inside position at 120 and the bonus.

Beckman finishes out Terlamen at 120. Fritz pulls alongside at 140.

Swaine and Peeples take turns through the Terlamen 120's at speed.

Puddifoot runs the racing line at 120 for free. Schultz plots 160 and takes the inside with no instructions otherwise.

A new race leader and the race's first DNF.

Turn 28 Summary

Miller recovers from his spin at 40 and opts to leave the line open for others.

Long has the initiative at 100. He drops two wear and his big chip on the chance roll (modified 1). He's through and is the new race leader! Welage burns a wear on the outer rail at 60 and settles in to block the line.

Baker plots 100 before late braking to 80 prior to the corner. He goes outside for two wear.

Rae goes outer rail at 80 and bumps two wear. Rund has no place to put his car at 80. He late brakes to 60 (natural 8) and clears the hairpin on the line for a wear.

Beckman grabs the racing line at 80. Fritz, also at 80, dives inside.

Swaine plots 100 but has no place to put the machine. He goes to the dice for a brake check (natural 11) but the brakes are now completely gone. He goes into the kitty litter, ending his day at Zolder. Peeples, at 80, pulls on the line for the hairpin.

Puddifoot clears Terlamen at 120. Schultz knocks down a wear at 120 on the inside of Terlamen.

Turn 29 Deadline: Monday, February 28th @ 7 a.m. EST
