Turn 16 Summary

Playing follow the race leader.
Massaenet might be messy for the brothers…..

Rob
Race leader Rob ain’t lettn up… Rob tests Acel (0 Skill) and rolls a 6=Pass! Rund runs the tunnel straight at 140mph and has the Chicane next in his sights. He still our race leader.

Brad
BA follows in the race leaders treads with an 80mph, but with 1 wear (no Chances for Brad – yet…) move to clear Portier. BA in the Mercedes is ready for the tunnel straight run. As he watches the Ferrari fade he takes solace in 2nd.

Ed
Next following in the race leaders treads (and BAs) is Ed. He pilots the McClaren with a 40mph, saving Wear for later, slide through the Fairmont Hairpin. He ends on the same space that 1st Rob and then Brad did. He’s now ready to push on to Portier and has some Wear to do it with. Ed’s in 3rd.

Chris
The Burn plots 100mph, grabs the RL (again before his brother can…) and moves up to the Massanet corner entrance on the inside. He’s calling the lane shots and is in 4th.

Steve
So much for that car length seperation… Steve ramps the Renault back up to 140mph, skips the RL his bro grabbed and ends at the Massanet corner entrance too – but outside.

The brothers continue to race hard with each other.
With 5W–Chris and 4W-Steve – Massanet/Mirabeau might get messy…

Turn 17 Summary

Everybody behaves and plays nice……

Rob
Race leader Rob finishes off the tunnel straight at 120mph to set up his run through the chicane. He’s still our race leader.

Brad
BA follows the race leaders down the straight at 140mph (Tested Acel w/2Sk and Mod 5=Pass). He’s in 2nd.

Ed
Next following in the race leaders treads (and Bas too) again is Ed. He pilots the McClaren at 80mph through the Portier 60s for a Wear and is ready for the tunnel straight as speed. Ed’s in 3rd.

Chris
The Burn plots an 80mph (yep 80) and 2 Wear – enough of hanging out with the Steve….. He finishes the RL and dives into the Mirabeau 40 clearing the corner! He’s in 4th.

Steve
Steve attempted to get a jump on Chris with an 80mph plot…. Arghh - Steve takes the Massanet 60s and ends at the Mirabeau entrance inside. Oh look what I found – a green bumper!

Turn 18 Summary

Wow – a no Wear spent by anyone turn.
Only a few turns left....the end game is on!

Rob
Race leader Rob Runds through the chicane at 80. He’s still our race leader.

Brad
BA follows the race leaders down the straight at 160mph - again. He’s in 2nd.

Ed
Next following in the race leaders treads (and BAs too) - again - is Ed. He pilots the McClaren at 140 mph down the tunnel straight. Ed’s in 3rd.

Chris
The Burn plots a 40mph - He finishes on the Hairpin RL. He’s in 4th.

Steve
Steve – since I could not execute your move as provided – I interpreted what you wanted (Hairpin RL). I moved you at 60mph (free through Mirabeau 60s) and stopped you on the Hairpin RL entrance space.

Turn 19 Summary

BA – pulls off a Chance roll!
Do these dice ever roll under a 6?
PS – Chris & Steve say “yes”… ☹

A tense final La Rascasse corner coming up for Rob and Brad!

Rob
Race leader Rob is gonna Rund that car right till the end! He doesn’t let up and races the Ferrari to the La Rascasse corner entrance at 120mph. He’s got a roll coming – a Chance? A Decel Test? Can the Ferrari hold together and avoid a spin 1 more time? He’s still our race leader and is 2 turns away from the win!!!

Brad
BA however is gonna live up to his nickname… Doesn’t appear he’s ready to settle for second as he screams through the Chicane in the black Mercedes bomber at 120mph – using 1 Wear and passing a Chance role (Modified 5=Pass). He then races toward La Rascasse and is 2 rows back from Rob. He’s in 2nd.

Ed
Next Ed motivates the orange machine at 140mph down the tunnel straight and sets up the Chicane. Depending on what happens at La Rascasse corner Ed could spy a 2nd place. Ed’s in 3rd.

Chris
Chris pilots the Lotus at 60mph and 1 tire out of the Fairmont Hairpin on the RL and clears Portier diving to the inside. This defensive blocking move essentially sealed brother Steve’s fate…. The Burn can run the Tunnel straight at speed next turn now. He is in 4th.

Steve
Steve and the yellow Renault come flying out of the Fairmont Hairpin at 80mph and want to dive inside to clear Portier too. Not again – yes again - oh no, a green Lotus is in the way! Steve is forced wide to the outside Portier 60s and is stuck in the corner. He must go 80mph next turn. Slipstream is in 5th. An expensive turn as 3 tires get scraped off the pile.

Turn 20 Summary

The RM whines: “I can’t pass a late brake roll with 2 Skill and these jamokes make it look easy….”
Rob Tests Dcel, passes and clears LaRascasse (Mod4=Pass)!
Chris Tests Acel, passes and flies down the Tunnel Straight (also Mod4=Pass)!
Brad – pulls off another frikken Chance roll, this time w/1skill (Mod5=Pass)!

It’s now a sprint to the Finish Line!

Rob
1st Mike Lind and then Rob Rund have raced the Ferrari to it’s limits, left nothing in the Wear/Skill bag and have led the entire race. Rob weaves the red machine through the 60s lane ending Inside. After nearly 2 full laps and the Finish Line in striking distance, Race leader Rund notes the black Mercedes has pulled along side at the LaRascasse corner exit – WOW!!! Rob’s is still in 1st.

Brad
Brad, in addition to being a BA is the come back kid…. passing back to back Chances and joining the bald tire club! He’s another racer bringing no Wear or Skill resources back to the paddock. Brad careens through LaRascasse wide through the 60/80 lane, clears the corner and ends Outside. He’s in 2nd.

Ed
Rob and Brad’s great luck is Ed’s bad luck however… Ed spies no bumpa ☹. Hoping somebody up front might spin, he saved that last tire and Skill for LaRascasse. Ed moves the McClaren at a sensible 80mph and no Wear through the Chicane. Ed’s in 3rd and looks to finish that way – still on the Podium!

Chris
Chris mashes the go pedal – he revs (passed Acel test) up the green machine, pushing the Lotus at 140mph down the Tunnel Straight ending Inside. He is in 4th. And with both a Wear and Skill advantage over Steve – he's lookin to stay there.

Steve
A tough race day (and some tough luck…) for Steve and the yellow Renault – reminds the RM of many of his own races….. Slipstream had the most powerful engine on the track but that smaller Wear and Skill pile (and the fickle dice gods…) came back to haunt. Stuck at 80mph - Steve exits Portier and eases big yeller onto the Tunnel straight. Slipstream is in 5th.

Turn 21 Summary

Brad wins by a single car length!!!

Brad
Yes that’s oily black smoke coming from BA’s engine… on the final push to the Finish Line Brad tested his Acel trying for 160mph but failed (12=Fail), damaging his engine Acel. Brad still got to move before Rob as his re-plotted 140mph speed was higher (they were in the same row, but Brad had the higher speed).

New Racers - This was the 1st damage to BA’s engine Acel – so his Acel for the remainder of race is now 20. The point is moot of course as Brad crosses the finish line and wins the race!!! A gutsy, “go for it”/take some Chances, 1 car length win!!!

Rob
Rob Rund-U-Over puts on a spectacular racing clinic for the new racers but comes up just shy…. he’s on the podium with Brad in 2nd.

Ed
“Where have all the bumpas gone? Long time passing.” (apologies to Peter Seeger…) Ed sees Brad and Rob fly by headed in the opposite direction on the straight – and also sees nobody in the rear view. Ed pilots the orange machine at a sensible 100mph up to LaRascasse corner on the inside. Ed’s in 3rd and looks to finish that way – still on the Podium!

Will Ed maintain his sensible speed sensibilities and just burn a Wear through LaRascasse?
Or will he Wear and Chance through LaRascasse to show off and annoy the brothers?

Chris
Chris knows Steve and his big motor flying banana is right behind him and he wants to keep it that way. He’s got the go pedal floored lunging that Lotus at 160mph down the Tunnel Straight ending Inside right at the Chicane. He is in 4th.

Steve
Steve ain’t giving up either and just about breaks the sound barrier ramping the Renault back up to 160mph. That speed shortens up the Tunnel Straight! Slipstream is in 5th.

Turn 22 Summary

Brad-1
Rob-2

Brad & Rob are hanging out on the podium drinking champagne and chattin up the race officials. Meanwhile on the track…..

Ed
“Save some champagne for me!” It’s Ed’s turn to join the bald tire club as he plots an 80mph and burn a Wear turn through LaRascasse (he’s gonna bring that 3 Skill back to the paddock). The orange machine is lined up and ready to launch down the Finish Line straight. Ed will finish a very respectable 3rd in his rookie race and will join the Rrrr boys on the Podium!

Chris
Chris runs the green machine through the Chicane at 100mph and scrapes off a tire for the privilage. He then runs Tabac and ends inside at Piscine. He still has 1 Wear and 2 Skill left for LaRascasse – he’s got some choices and some resources left in the tank. He is in 4th.

Steve
Steve in the big motor Renault is still pushing and clears the Chicane inside at 100mph and drops his last Wear. LaRascasse is next in his crosshairs. Slipstream is in 5th.

Turn 23 Summary

Brad-1
Rob-2
ED-3

Ed
Ed takes a lesson from BA by apparently rubbing it in… He coasts across the finish line at a sedate 100mph ahead of Chris and Steve, and takes the shortcut into the paddock for some of that champagne! He finishes a very respectable 3rd and rounds out the Podium!!

Chris
Chris races the green machine into the LaRascasse 60s at 80mph and spends his last Wear – that should just about do it... He is working on a 4th place finish in his Redscape CFR Rookie race.

Steve
Ahh it’s about respect now and Steve in the big motor Renault is still racing hard. He clears the Chicane inside at 140mph and races right up to the LaRascasse corner entrance – making short work of the Tabac back straight! Slipstream is in 5th.

Turn 24 Summary

Brad-1
Rob-2
ED-3

Last game turn coming!!!

Chris
Burnout Bernie is limited to 80mph (based on last turn – prior Wear spent). He clears LaRascasse through the 60s and then dives back inside. He’s on the straight and ready to sprint across the Finish Line!

Steve
Slipstream is two spaces back and has also cleared LaRascasse corner running a sensible 60mph through the 60s. Just no reason for a Chance roll… as Steve would still have been 1 row back from Chris. He’s on the straight too and is ready to release the Renault hounds!

Remember rookie drivers:
Who finishes furthest down the track of those crossing the Finish Line in the same game turn wins.
Any Wear/speed limits for corners entered MUST be met - on the turn you cross the Finish Line.
Inside wins for cars in the same row (side by side) – on the turn you cross the Finish Line.

Turn 25 Summary

Brad-1
Rob-2
ED-3
Chris-4
Steve-5

Race finishes!

Chris
Burnout Bernie doesn’t hold back – he sprints the green machine across the Finish Line and down the entire length of the straight finishing inside – nice final move!

Steve
Slipstream wants to show off the big motor Renault 1 final time…. He tests Acceleration to 100mph - but hears a bang from the engine and then sees smoke, damn… (die roll 10=Fail). Steve’s Acel is now damaged down to 60mph, but the race is over. His speed after failing is 140mph - he crosses the Finish line, runs the straight and ends on Chris’ bumpa (as Ed would say).
