A challenge for the lead. But like the saying goes, "Catching them is one thing, passing is another."

Turn 29 summary:
Brandt slows to 60 on the inside of corner 15 for free.
Kennard sheds two wear in the 60s and now sits one car length behind the leader.
Blizzard approaches the corner in the middle to keep his options open for next turn.
Schulz gains two spaces on Blizzard with a 140 move.

Kennington uses his big acceleration to reach 140 and stay two lengths behind Schulz.
Brown trades a wear for 80 through the corner 12 racing line.
Peeples also drops one wear on the line and gets on the tail pipe of the yellow race car.
Baker saves wear by slowing to 60 but clears the corner.

Haskell scrubs off another wear in the 60s at 80 but he also clears corner 12.
Burnett is into corner 8 at 60 for free.
Bauska gets his machine straightened out and stays right behind Burnett.

A tell-tale puff of smoke from the light green car.

Turn 30 summary:

Brandt clears corner 16 on the inside at 100 for one wear.
Kennard clears the short chute at 100 and starts the line.
Blizzard drops one wear in the 60s at 80.
Schulz pulls in behind Blizzard after leaving two wear in the 60s at 100.

Kennington goes to the outside of corner 15 at 120 shedding one wear.
Brown gets all his acceleration to 140 and holds the inside.
Peeples also gets 140 and uses the bonus to pull even with Brown.
Haskell's big acceleration gets him to 160 off the corner.

Baker jumps hard on the accelerator and his engine builder winces at the telemetry telling him all is not well.
Burnett plows through corner 12 at 100 on the line scrubbing off two wear and leaving Bauska behind.
Bauska maintains 60 and starts the line.

Brandt stretches out the lead. Two positions change hands.

Turn 31 summary:
Brandt clears the penultimate corner and is set to attack the main straight.
Kennard saves wear thorugh corner 16 on the line at speed.
Blizzard also runs the line at 100 and clears the corner.
Schulz hits the inner 80s hard at 120 shedding two wear and taking P3.

Kennington has paid to finish corner 15 at 80.
Peeples blasts through corner 15 at 100 on the inside then moves to the outside.
Brown uses all his brakes to get to 80 and drops one wear through the 60s.
Haskell goes wide at 100 for free.

Baker makes up a length into the 100s right behind the red machine at 120 for one wear.
Burnett maxes his acceleration to 160 through 13 & 14.
Bauska holds a steady 60 around the corner 12 line for free.

Things heat up in the back of the field

Turn 32 summary:
Brandt grabs high gear down the main straight at 160.
Kennard takes the inside of corner 19 at 160 and has the leader in sight.
Schulz successfully convinces his engine it can to 180 on the corner 19 racing line.
Blizzard follows on the line at 160.

Kennington rounds corner 16 on the line at speed.
Peeples keeps outsine through the corner at 120 dropping one wear to grab the blue car's wing.
Brown starts through the corner at 100 for free.
Haskell brakes to 60 and moves to the inside after finishing corner 15.

Baker finishes the outside of the corner at 80, wear paid.
Burnett flies around the inside of corner 15 at 100 punting 2 wear and making it three wide.
Bauska pushes his acceleration for a 140 move to try to get back into the race.

Kennnington and Peeples gain some ground

Turn 33 summary:
Brandt starts lap 3 at 140 on the inside.
Kennard maxes at 160 to make up a car length.
Schulz chooses to do 160 and tuck in behind the green machine.
Blizzard pushes to 180 and joins the chase pack.

Kennington opens up his big engine through corner 19 at 180 on the line.
Peeples also gets to high gear and uses the double bonus to pick up a position.
Brown finishes corner 16 and starts the green line.
Burnett burns two wear on the corner 16 line at 140.

Haskell follows Burnett on the line at 120 shedding one wear.
Baker rounds the outside of the corner at 120 also for one wear.
Bauska tries to save a wear by late braking before the corner but the brakes break.

Things tighten up in front

Turn 34 summary:
Brandt shuffles into corner 1 at 100 for one wear.
Kennard follows on the line at 160.
Schulz does 140 and uses the bonus to keep behind the green race car.
Blizzard tops out at 160 and starts the line.

Peeples keeps at 180 down the straightaway.
Kennington at 180 gets the return double slip and chooses to stay in the middle lane.
Brown takes the green line at 160 and moves to the inside.
Burnett also runs the green line at 180 and tucks in behind Brown.

Haskell puts the pedal to the metal in spite of a fly in his helmet (NPR)
Baker keeps within his engine's specs at 160 and gets the double bonus to keep behind Haskell.
Bauska finishes corner 15 at 60.

The crowd forgets the fight for the lead and watches the show on the main straight

Turn 35 summary:
Brandt maintains 100 to finish corner 1 and starts the corner 2 racing line.
Kennard kills two wear on the line and sticks his nose to the inside for P1 for now.
Schulz benefits from Kennard's move running the inside at 80 for one wear and taking the bonus space.
Blizzard sheds one wear on the corner 1 line at 100.

Kennington leans hard on his already damaged brakes but they hold as he starts the line at 120.
Peeples challenges the inside of the corner at 140 taking P5.
Brown lets the dogs out as he blasts down the main straight at 200.
Haskell's rocket keeps up with the yellow race car also at 200.

Burnett gets high gear and tucks in behind Haskell at 180.
Baker maxes both acceleration and top speed at 160 but the double slip keeps him in touch.
Bauska preserves his precious one remaining wear at 100 through the corner 16 line.

Things start to heat up all around the track

Turn 36 summary:

Kennard goes wide in the corner at 100 for one wear then sits on the exit of the line.
Brandt brakes to 60 and with the line blocked takes the 60s for free.
Schulz also taps the brakes to 60 but he has the line available bringing P2 with it.
Blizzard is into the 100 at speed.

Peeples is hard on the brakes, too hard. He takes the inside of corner 1 at 80 scrubbing off one wear.
Kennington runs the line at 100 dropping one wear.
Brown sheds a wear in the 120s at 140.
Haskell also asks his brakes for a little extra on approach to the corner.

Baker starts into corner 1 on the line at 140.
Burnett uses all his brakes to get to 120 and follows the light green race car.
Bauska begs his already damaged engine for 160 but it gives him smoke.

Turn 37 summary:
Kennard anticipates the upcoming chicane, doing 140 down the straight.
Schulz pushes his engine to keep up with the leader at 140. It barely holds.
Brandt comes off corner 2 at 120 and uses the bonus to challenge Schulz.
Blizzard slows to 80 and finishes the corner for free.

Peeples is next into corner 2 on the line at 80 knocking off one wear.
Kennington decides to brake hard into the corner and follow the purple machine.
Brown slows to 80 and finishes through the 60 having paid for +20.

Haskell slows to 60 and negotiates the inside through corner 1.

The dice start coming out in force, and so far for the good

Turn 38 summary:
Kennard is hard on the brakes taking both lines through the corners.
Schulz starts at 100 then brakes to 80 and follows the leader.
Brandt finds the line occupied so he goes wide at 100.
Blizzard pushes his acceleration for 160 and starts the line behind Schulz.

Peeples does 120 knowing he has to nurse his brakes through the chicane.
Kennington shoots out of corner 2 at 140 and pulls even with the purple machine.
Baker drops one wear on the corner 2 line at 80 to move into P7.

Brown slows slightly to 60 on the line for free.
Haskell conserves his final wear by slowing to 60 and starting the line behind Brown.
Burnett swings around the red race car and into the 80 space at 100 for one wear and P9.

Turn 39 summary:
Kennard starts the corner 5 line at 80.
Schulz runs the corner 4 line at 80 for free.
Brandt slows to 80 and follows Schulz through corner 4.
Blizzard finds the second line blocked so he takes the first line then the 80s at 100 shedding one wear.

Kennington tests his already damaged brakes to get to 100 before the corner and runs the lines for one wear.
Peeples is also one wear lighter after taking the first line then shifting to the 80s at 100.
Baker maxes his damaged acceleration to 120 down the straight.

Brown also gets all the acceleration he can to keep on Baker's wing.
Burnett finishes the 60 at 80 wear already paid.
Haskell maintains 60 around the corner 2 racing line.

Kennard slows to 40 and takes the 40s for free.
Schulz runs into the 40 then 60s at 80 shedding two wear and pulling even with the leader.
Blizzard hits the corner 5 line at 60 for free.
Brandt is also into the corner at 60 on the outside.

Kennington exits corner 4 at 80 to start the racing line into corner 5.
Peeples completes the corner 4 80s having paid for +20 and ducks inside the blue machine.
Baker starts the corner 3/4 complex on the line at 80.

Brown at 100 has to move to the middle lane, dropping his final wear.
Burnett catches the pair ahead of him at 140.
Haskell stays on the tailpipe of the orange race car at 140.

Kennington drags the brakes down to 40 and follows the purple machine.
Baker finishes the corner 4 line and starts the line into 5.

Brown is able to pick up the corner 4 line and picks up a position on the inside.
Burnett drops one wear at 100 through corner 3 on the line then shifts to the corner 4 80s.
Haskell runs the double lines at 80.
