Dang, Mike, you're so deep in last place it's hard to even see you. What happened? Did you sponsor you kid's picks who picked teams based upon their mascot?

I know I should be quiet, but copied from ESPN for those who aren't playing:

SLOTerp2
Terpinob
PCT5.8%
RANK10,900,178
POINTS490

Almost 11,000,000th place!

For the record, I'm not much better than 7,000,000th place, but still have a chance to win, amazingly enough.

I actually participated in my first March Madness event ever. It was an Auction. Basically, you bid on a team. Highest bidder gets the team. Payouts begin at the Sweet Sixteen and is as follows;

Team makes it to the Sweet Sixteen - 2.5% of the pool
Team makes it the Elite Eight - 5%
Team makes it to Final Four - 10%
Final 2 - 15%
National Champion gets 25% of the pool

This is not cumulative. You get a pay out based on the level your team is eliminated.

I came out of the auction in a pretty good place. I have a 3rd seed, a 5th seed and a 12th seed and it only cost me $70. (Kentucky went for $207 and Villanova went for $150). The pool total was $2,000 so I only needed 2 teams to make it to the Sweet Sixteen to cover. I thought I had a good chance.

Unfortunately, my 3rd seed (Baylor) was eliminated by a lowly 12th seed. My 5th seed (Arkansas) lost in the round of 32 and my 12th seed was forgettable. Crap.

However, I had a lot of fun. I plan on doing it again next year but I will bring more money to bid with.

Unfort
