You loved him in The IT Crowd, but since then it's pretty much been hit and miss run of the mill acting.
However all of the sudden in 2014 he's in the Tony nominated stage performance Of Mice and Men playing Lenny. And he 's got a major role in the Bill Murray/Jenny McCarthy flick St. Vincent.
Has anyone seen that by the way, care to provide a review?

I saw of Mice and Men a few months ago: my kid and I went to see it after he read of Mice and Men for school. Lenny did a great job. The theater experience was marred by all the Teenyboppers (can I still say that?) who fawned over James Franco, before, during, and after the show. It didn't register who Lenny was until you wrote this, but yeah, I recognize him now.
The play and the story has its issues of course, but the performance was really first rate.

Thanks for the review! Stoopid James Franco fans! At least they were getting in a serious play.

He's pretty good in Moone Boy, and in Sapphires. I'm looking forward to seeing Calvary too.

I was going to say he stunk in Moone Boy, but I watched only one episode and didn't care for the show. Maybe he was good but in a bad show? And maybe the show gets better over time???

It's a great show, but perhaps a little niche.

I may give it another chance then. I could have been in the wrong mood or maybe the first show was a bit "off"? It was several months ago that I watched it (Because of him being in it mind you). I fully admit it was a small sampling but he was just so good in The IT crowd, pretty darned funny in I think it was FM? (where he was a radio DJ) so I gave Moone Boy a shot and may give it one more chance???

It is a different thing to those, and he wrote it based on his own childhood so is a bit idiosyncratic. It may just not be your thing - as a kid of the 80s myself, from the next island over, there are direct references that appeal, I guess.

well your "next island over" to the east is a bit closer to my "next island over" to the west (North America) probably means a bit more similarity!? And I was a kid of the 70's
