DipCon to be held at the Washington Athletic Club.

One round Friday night.
2 Rounds Saturday.
Final round Sunday.

I anticipate 60-70 players. It's going to be a great time, if I make it. (weather permitting)

I know there will be guys from Europe, Australia, and all over the US.

Wonderful time. Wonderful venue. Had a blast, even though I only finished third.

Dan Lester of GB won. Chris Martin was second.

I think the fact that there was a final board might have hurt me. I could have soloed in the third round, but decided not to as there was no need. I think in a "regular" tournament I might have had a shot.

The final board is a whole other story. I'm still kicking myself. I don't have time to explain it all just now.

American Chris Martin, I assume? (there is a Brit of the same name I've met across a board).

An impressive finish even so. I'll look out for a write-up on DipPouch.

Steve, While you may be kicking yourself and not too happy about your third place, let me congratulate you on doing very well. No shame in a third place finish out of how many players? (several boards at least?)

I think the total was between 60 and 70. I don't think we ever had 10 boards for a round, but I think we may have had nine for one or more.

I'm not displeased. I just think I could have done better.

And, I've finished second, third, fourth, etc. in previous DipCons. I'm the perennial bridesmaid.
