O, holy night! How is it possible that England lost to a country that can't play outdoors much of the year?
To Iceland's credit, their throw-in play was brilliant and their defending was very good.
But, wow, what an upset!

and on the other half of the world Brazil never made the knockout round of the Copa America tourney followed by Argentina losing, it's a year of upsets!?
and being only a casual fan of the game, That's both part of what is great and what is infuriating at the same time. The best team often loses and if you are a fan of that "best team" it really sucks losing that game you would win nine times out of ten. But overall, it's pretty cool how just about anyone can win.

. . . except the US. We just don't have the requisite skill level yet. Argentina destroyed us.

no, Argentina would beat the US maybe 95 or 96 times out of 100
and in a series (like basketball, baseball or hockey) they would always win but the US could (very very rarely) beat even Argentina. I would like to see those odds get to say a 25% chance of winning vs a 2% chance and it may be a looooong while for us to get there, with so many other sports so vastly more popular here.
[edit] ...like my math? 95 times out of 100 = 2% ???
