In truth I'd prefer this not to overlap with the new NWO in January, but nevertheless I'll play of course. It would be rude not to having won the last round...

With NWO now over, is it time to kick this back into gear?

How do these tournaments work? Do you have to play simultaneous games?

No, what happens is, several (depending on how many players join) games are played simultaneously, with each player only playing once. If we get 49 players, 7 go on at once, and so on.
The games are usually set to end around 1912 or so, unless a solo or draw happens earlier. All players are then ranked at the end of the tourney, according to some scoring system that rewards first solos, then board tops, you get points for SCs, etc. etc.
There's also some element of promotion and relegation that was implemented, where depending on how you did in the last tourney, the board you play on will be surrounded with other players who performed somewhat similarly to you in their games.

A good question. There was a committee, but Randy (no longer of this parish) seemed to be the main organiser.
Do we have anyone left on the RGC who is active?

The RG Committee also consisted of Dave (SuperAnt) and Steve (Doctor Fate).

Exiled to Elba. You know you might have gone too far when you're banned from Redscape.

It would be nice if we could "tag" people. I was randomly scrolling through when I saw this.

Tbh, I was more a sounding board than anything else. I think we will need to get his data to sort out who belongs where. We will also need a third committee member (to break ties).
I'm not slighting Dave, at all, but Randy was the driving force of the RG.

That is true; he is certainly a die-hard promoter of the tournament and of the hobby. It is a damn shame that things worked out this way.
