The front runners enter lap 2 as Schipper shakes things up in the back.

Turn 12 Summary

Walling grabs the green line at 160. Harley, also at 160, takes the bonus and the race lead. Caldwell keeps the pace at 160 and the bonus.

Harrington bumps his speed to 120 with the increasing corner speed. Costa finishes out Sudkurve at 100.

Hoyt conserves his wear at 100 on the outer rail. Kay has initiative at 120. He burns a wear on the outside. Bernhardt runs Sudkurve at 100 for free and nestles in behind the #96, hoping for a ride.

Schipper scrapes a tire in Sachs at 80 then slams the brakes w/ 2s (modified 7) to block the line for those coming after. Dygert coughs up a wear and rolls past the #1 at 80.

With no line available, Kubala contributes a wear at 80. Puddifoot plots 80 but finds himself with no place to go. He burns off some rubber before the corner (1 wear) and runs Sachs for free at 60.

Turn 13 Summary

Harley burns 2 wear at 160 on the inner red line. Walling stays alongside at 160 using one less wear on the green.

Caldwell loses pace at 120 on the inside red line for free.

Harrington pulls up to Nordkurve at 140 on the green. Costa grabs the green at 160.

Kay drops the hammer and gets initiative at 180. He tucks in behind the #7. At 160, Hoyt readies the green line (note: he did not call for a lane but has personal defaults in place for racing lines).

Bernhardt stays on the bumper of the #96 at 160 and one of the two slips he's allowed. He said 'no thanks' to the 2nd.

Dygert flies around Sudkurve on the inside at 120 for 2 wear.

Kubala dumps 2 wear in Sudkurve at 140 on the outside. Schipper burns 2 on the inside at 120 then pulls even with the #3 on the bonus.

Puddifoot re-joins the pack at 120 and the bonus. He shakes off 2 wear in Sudkurve.

Some positioning in the two chase packs and one fat zero...

Turn 14 Summary

Harley and Walling take turns through the Einfahrt 80's at 120. That's 2 wear each leaving both in single digits.

Caldwell flies through Einfahrt at 140 for 2 wear and his big chip on the chance (modified 0). He skillfully navigates the corner to make up for a previous plotting error.

Harrington takes the Nordkurve green for free at 140. Costa does the same and lines up behind the purple machine.

Kay also follows at 140 and with the bonus runs inside of the #7 for a position gain.

Hoyt keeps the foot on the gas at 160 and burns a wear on the green line. Bernhardt stays with the traffic at 140 and the bonus.

Dygert drops the hammer to 180 to grab the green line. Schipper, at 160, also takes the green.

Kubala rockets down the straight at 180 and pulls to the inside of the #3 with the bonus. Puddifoot takes the inside red line at 160 and the bonus.

The field stays separated into three distinct groups.

Turn 15 Summary

Harley and Walling trade paint as they fly down the track and into the Parabolika at 160. Caldwell keeps the pace, also at 160.

Harrington burns a wear in Einfahrt at 100.

Kay drops 2 wear in the 80's at 120 to pull even with the #32. Costa peels off a wear at 80 and stays attached to #32's bumper.

Hoyt clips a tire at 100 as he stays on the #7's bumper. Bernhardt, at 100, dives to the inside of Einfahrt for 2 wear and stumbles onto the bumper of the other big engine in the group.

Kubala pays 2 wear at 160 via the 120's in Nordkurve. He grabs the middle lane. Dygert, at 140, runs the green line and parks it outside of the yellow machine.

Schipper gets the initiative at 160. He dumps a wear on the green line and gets the last front row seat at Einfahrt (along with three positions on the leader board). Puddifoot scrapes off a wear at 140 on the inside red line but has no place to use the bonus.

Turn 16 Summary

Harley & Walling trade paint down the back stretch at 160. Caldwell maintains the one space gap, also at 160.

Kay gets the initiative at 180. Harrington is next at 160.

Costa, at 160 and the bonus, sets up for another possible slip. Bernhardt pulls even with his benefactor at 160 and the double bonus.

At 160 and the bonus, Hoyt grabs another bumper.

Kubala has the initiative at 120 and burns 2 wear in Einfahrt. Dygert goes next at 120 and does the same. Schipper moves last out of the row at 80, using 1s on the dice roll for the over brake (modified 10). The smoke tells the story - he pays 1 wear for brake damage and another for the corner.

Puddifoot takes an RM plot of 80, rounding Einfahrt for free (NPR #1: Warning).

Walling back in the lead...

Turn 17 Summary

Harley runs the Hairpin in the 80's at 120 for 2 wear. Walling drops to 100, giving him the shorter, inside route for 2 wear and the lead.

Caldwell burns 2 wear as he rolls into the Hairpin at 120.

Kay and Bernhardt trade paint at 180 each - Kay gets the line and Bernhardt stays outside.

Costa pushes his engine w/ 1s (modified 8) and hits 180. Harrington , at 160, tucks in behind his bumper.

Hoyt pulls alongside the #32 at 160 and the bonus.

Kubala & Dygert rumble through Parabolika at 180 each.

Schipper, at 160, opts to use only one slip so he can get one again next turn. Puddifoot gets out on the straight at 140.

Turn 18 Summary

Walling approaches Mercedes on the line at 140. Harley runs outside at 140 and the bonus.

Caldwell finishes out the Hairpin at 120.

Bernhardt has the initiative at 120. He drops 2 wear on the outer rail. Kay plots 100 with 2 skill on a brake test (modified 8). He goes outside to the secondary line for a wear.

Costa over brakes to 120 with 2s (modified 6). He clips 2 tires on the outer rail.

Harrington burns 2 wear at 120 on the outside / secondary line combo. At 100, Hoyt gets detoured to the outer lane via the middle at 2 wear.

Kubala & Dygert continue their side-by-side racing at 160 with the former grabbing the line & the latter opting to stay outside.

Schipper tags along at 140 and the bonus. He stays on the bumper of the yellow machine. Puddifoot brings up the rear at 160.

They are stacked and packed in front of Mercedes while the leaders play cat & mouse.

Turn 19 Summary

Harley gets the initiative at 100 and sloughs off a wear at 100. Walling runs the Mercedes line for free.

Caldwell tosses a wear on the Mercedes line at 100. Bernhardt pulls up to the corner on the line.

Kay, at 140, slots to the outside of the #43. Costa, also at 140, takes the only space left - inside.

Harrington & Hoyt stay with the pack at 140 with some side-by-side racing.

Kubala knocks down 2 wear on the Hairpin line at 100. Dygert conserves wear at 80.

Schipper follows the yellow machine through the Hairpin for 2 wear and a position gain. Puddifoot sets up the Hairpin on the line at 100.

Turn 20 Summary

Harley & Walling take turns on the Mobil1 line at 120. Harley cedes first place to take the line.

Caldwell is through the Mobil1 line at 120.

Bernhardt has the initiative at 120. He clips 2 tires on the Mercedes line and ends on the Mobil1 line. Costa is next at 100 and drops 2 tires in the Mercedes 60. Kay lollygags around the outer rail at 80 for free.

Hoyt gets the initiative at 120. He burns 2 wear on the Mercedes line and weaves around the traffic. With the bonus, he finds himself in 4th place (from 8th)! Harrington rides the Mercedes line for free at 80.

Kubala pulls up to the Mercedes line at 100. Schipper, at 120, grabs the inside. Dygert closes the gap at 140.

Puddifoot clears the Hairpin at 80 on the line for a wear.

While the leaders play cat & mouse, the chase pack closes the gap.

Turn 21 Summary

Harley has the initiative at 80 on the line and takes back the lead. Walling slows to 60 to tuck in behind the mouse (or is Harley the cat... I don't know).

Caldwell finishes Sachs on the line at 100 for a wear.

Hoyt burns a wear as he enters Sachs on the line at 100. Bernhardt, also at 100, burns off some speed in Mobil 1 before setting up the Sachs line. Costa grabs the inside lane at 100.

Kay and Harrington take turns through the Mobil 1 curve on the line at 120.

Schipper clips 2 tires in the Mercedes 60 at 100. Kubala runs the line for free at 80 and grabs the bumper on the red machine. Dygert also goes 80 for free via the Mercedes line.

Puddifoot brings up the rear at 120.

The race leaders have eyes on the final lap.

Turn 22 Summary

Harley strips off 2 wear in Sudkurve at 120. At 100, Walling stays right up in his tailpipe, tossing a wear in Sudkurve plus the bonus.

Costa clears Sudkurve at 120 on the outer rail for a wear. Hoyt finishes out Sachs at 100 and drops a wear in the Sudkurve 80.

Costa burns 2 tires in Sachs at 100. Bernhardt runs the Sachs line for free at 80 before ducking behind the #7.

Kay rounds Sachs at 80 on the line. Harrington, with the line denied, spends a wear in Sachs and grabs the inside.

Schipper sheds 2 tires as he dives into Sachs on the line at 120. Kubala, also at 120, sets up the Sachs line.

Dygert keeps the pace at 120. Puddifoot clips 2 tires in Mercedes at 120 in his effort to catch the trailing group.

Turn 23 Summary

Harley rolls into the final lap at 160. Walling stays on his bumper at 140 and the bonus.

Caldwell keeps the pace at 160. Hoyt picks up speed to 120 but falls off a few lengths.

Costa and Bernhardt each clip a tire in Sudkurve at 100 and maintain relative position.

Kay gets the initiative at 120 and goes outer rail for a wear. Harrington also goes outside but conserves his wear at 100.

Schipper finishes out Sachs at 120 and clears Sudkurve on the inside for 2 wear.

Kubala and Dygert round Sachs on the line for free at 80. Puddifoot drops 2 wear on the Sachs line to finally join the other back markers.
