Turn 42. David turns toward the finish line and the checkered flag. Stephen uses the slip to pull up next to Chris for 2nd. The congested corner 9a takes its toll as Jack's brakes fail and he pulls off the track.

Turn 43. David takes the checkered flag for his first Summer Lighting victory. Stephen grabs the initiative and chooses the line after his late brake. Chris pulls up inside. The rest of the field is one car length back. That's a lot of metal aiming for the last hairpin.

Turn 44. With both at 60, Chris Brandt moves first and blocks the line. Stephen moves one space and late brakes to 40 to stay on the line behind Chris. Josh at 80 late brakes and takes the line. Heinz at 80 is forced outside. Will at 100 finds no room and late brakes only to damage his brakes and spin on the line. Chris takes the only path remaining inside.

Turn 45. Chris accelerates to 120 to cross the line for 2nd. Stephen pushes his acceleration and gets to 100 plus the slip to stay on his bumper but not cross the line. Josh pushes his acceleration but fails. He pulls up to Stephen's bumper. Heinz maneuvers out of the hairpin for one last shot at opening up that big engine.

Turns 46-47. The battle for 3rd is decided as Stephen's top speed gives out. Josh's successfully tested acceleration and top speed take him past Stephen for 3rd. Heinz easily takes 5th also testing his top speed. Chris Brown also makes it across the line and Will follows on the next turn.
Note the turn counter on lap 46 incorrectly shows 45. The picture is labelled correctly.
