Walling drops a tire at 100 on the Acque Minerali and makes contact with the primary chasers.

Puddifoot runs the Piratella line for free at 100.

The leader is at the second time trap and should have some company soon.

Turn 38 Summary

Kubala, at 100, takes the long route through Variante Alta for free.

Kay pushes his engine w/ 1s (modified 8) to 140. He gets the initiative and takes back 2nd place. Dygert tucks in behind the black machine at 120.

Walling is able to increase speed to 120. With the slip, he pulls even with the #3.

Puddifoot clears Acqui Minerali at 80, on the line. Harrington follows the Miller Lite car into the corner, also at 80.

Schippers sets up the Minerali corner at 80 on the line. Bernhardt runs the Piratella line at 100.

Ricaud pulls up to Tosa, on the line, at 100.

Only two cars are even near one another. Yawn...

Turn 39 Summary

Kubala nurses his bald tires towards Rivazza at a sedate 120. Kay burns a wear at 100, the only car to use any this turn. He also finds himself in the same paragraph as the race leader.

Dygert and Walling take turns through the Alta chicane. Phil has both a tire and engine advantage. Will Larry let him go?

Puddifoot is a turn behind the chasers. Can he parlay that 5 wear into some Grand Prix points?

Harrington has to go 100 as breaking the line would incur a chance. Can he hold his position with two cars soon to be up his tailpipe?

Schipper and Bernhardt roll through Acque Minerali at 80 each. Skip is going to have a tough time holding off Paul with that compromised engine.

Ricaud is just easing his way around the course. No sense in jeopardizing 2 GP points.

I'm at a campground through Monday, the Labor Day holiday in the states, so the next formal deadline is Wednesday. However, if I get all the plots in, I could probably find time to adjudicate sometime over the long weekend.

Turn 40 Summary

Kubala taps the brakes to 80, setting up Rivazza on the line. At 140, Kay sits on the tailpipe of the yellow machine.

Dygert pushes his engine to 140 (natural 6). Walling runs alongside, also at 140.

Puddifoot burns a wear in Variante Alta at 100. Harrington gets halfway through the chicane at 80.

Schipper pulls up to Alta at 100. Bernhardt comes alongside the red racer at 140.

Ricaud grabs the Piratella line at 120.

The dice cup comes out and all is well...

Turn 41 Summary

Kubala slows to 60 to clear Rivazza. Kay plots 100 then late brakes before the corner to 80 (natural 4). He drops a wear on the first line followed by the outer rail, also clearing the corner.

Walling gets initiative at 100. He late brakes w/ 2s to 80 (modified 3) and snags the Rivazza line for his last wear & moves up a position. Dygert over brakes to 80 w/ 1s (modified 7) and careens into Rivazza on the outside w/ his big chip on the chance table (modified 4).

Puddifoot gains some ground on the chasers at 140.

The clump of cars (Harrington, Schipper, & Bernhardt) at Variante Alta all post 80 and are clear of the chicane. Ricaud continues to enjoy his drive around the track at 100.

Kay's team ices the champaign...

Turn 42 Summary

Kubala plays it safe at 100. Kay pulls alongside at 120 and, barring an unforced error, should take the checkers in a few turns.

Walling and Dygert take turns on the 2nd Rivazza line at 80.

Puddifoot clears Rivazza for a wear at 80 and is poised to challenge for a podium spot.

Harrington eases his way towards Rivazza at 100. Bernhardt has initiative at 140, passing the #32. Schipper stays on Kevin's bumper at 100.

Ricaud slows to 80 on the Acque Minerali line.

A new race leader emerges...

Turn 43 Summary

Kay gets initiative at 100, drops 2 wear in the chicane, and jumps out to first. Kubala eases his car through Bassa at 60.

Walling pulls up at 80. Dygert comes alongside at 100.

Puddifoot has no place to go 120. He uses a wear to late brake to 100.

Bernhardt burns his last wear at 80 in Rivazza.

Harrington tempts fate at 80 on the Rivazza line (natural 7). He can't quite hold the corner on his spent tires and spins! Schipper pulls up at 80, opting for the inside lane.

Ricaud continues his way through Minerali at 80.

The checkered flag is out!

Turn 44 Summary

Kay crosses the line for the win in his inaugural Redscape league race! Kubala puts his nose across the line for 2nd.

Walling tosses in a red chip on the chance at 80 (modified 4) hoping to maintain his position. Dygert slows to 60 and tucks in behind the black machine.

Puddifoot puts his foot on the gas at 120 and grabs the dice cup with a big chip (modified 5). After careening through the chicane, he passes a few cars into 3rd position.

Bernhardt finishes out Rivazza at 80. Harrington recovers from his spin at 60. Schipper slows to 40 to tackle the first corner in Rivazza.

Ricaud gets bored and tosses 2 skill at a chance roll (modified 6).

Turn 45 Deadline: Friday, September 18th @ 7 a.m. EDT (11 a.m. UTC)

If you're planning ahead, the next track is posted at Redscape. We will start in about 2 weeks.

A few more dice rolls to wrap up the race. I cannot find any way in which the order can now change so the race has been called. I'll list the auto--pilot plots below.

Turn 45 Summary

Puddifoot rolls across in 3rd at 140. Walling pulls alongside for 4th at 160, using his last 2 skill on the engine tests (modified 5 & 9). Dygert plods across at 100 for 5th.

Bernhardt locks down 6th by using 2s on a chance roll into the chicane at 100 (modified 3). Harrington pulls up at 100. Schipper clears Rivazza at 60. Ricaud moves along at 100.

Turn 46+ Auto-pilot
Bernhardt: 100 / 140 (6th)
Harrington: 60 / 120 (7th)
Schipper: 80 / 80 / 100 (8th)
Ricaud: 100 / 60 / 80 / 80 / 60 / 120 (9th)

You have a two week hiatus before builds are due for Hockenheim. Perhaps use that time to reflect upon your race - comments are very much appreciated and can be posted HERE. See you in Germany!

Lastly, kudos to all of you consistently getting your plots in. Very few NPR's!

Your ever grateful Race Marshal,
Mike
