Looks like the traffic jam will continue into the Paddock. Will everyone clear it next turn?

Turn 29 Summary

Peeples and Miller take turns through the Paddock 80's at 80.

Fritz and Kennard (?) both plot 80.

Brandt and Swaine plot 120 to create a 3-wide going into Paddock.

Beckman and Tatum release from Amphitheater at 100 and set up side-by-side.

Kay, Marvin, and Rando exit Amphitheater at 100 and create another 3-wide.

Bauska clears the Amphitheater at 100 for his next to last wear.

The white flag comes out as the leaders enter the final lap. Some position shuffling through Paddock.

Turn 30 Summary

Peeples crosses the S/F line at 120. Miller challenges at 140.

Brandt has initiative at 100 and drops a wear in the 80's. Swaine goes next at 100 and follows suit. Fritz moves last from the row at 80, saving his tires but falling behind by a car length.

Kennard rolls through at 80 for free and picks up the bumper on the #23.

Beckman fires first at 80, clearing Paddock for free. Tatum slows to 60 and finds the exit row on the inside.

Rando grabs the initiative at 140. He late brakes to 120 with a skill (modified 7) before rounding the outer rail for 2 wear. He's the last one to clear the corner.

Marvin moves next at 100 and bumps a wear on the outside. Kay, at 80, picks up the middle lane for free.

Bauska makes up some ground at 120.

The clean up crew may have missed some oil on the track...

Turn 32 Summary

Peeples finishes The Wall at 100. Brandt burns 2 wear on the line and is one car length behind the leader.

Swaine slows to 80 and scrapes off a wear on the line. Fritz, at 100, can't use the line and gets hung outside for 2 wear.

Tatum thought Miller had the right idea last turn and 2 skill save him from the same fate. At 100, he tosses 2 wear and rolls the dice in the 40 (modified 9). The car goes round and round. On the bright side, he's in 3rd place... for a turn. Kennard pulls up to The Wall on the line at 80.

Beckman, at 100, grabs the inside lane. Also at 100, Rando finds only the middle lane open.

Marvin punches it to 140 and stays inner rail. Kay pulls even at 140 and the bonus. Bauska keeps the pace at 140 (naked 8) and the slip.

The black #3 is removed from the track by Mater, always happy to make an appearance at a Redscape event.

The leaders enter the narrow portion of the track. It might get a little crowded in there next turn.

Turn 33 Summary

Peeples runs the Bridge for free at 140. Brandt follows the leader and keeps the pace, remaining one car length behind.

Swaine has initiative and releases from The Wall at 140 to hang with the lead group. Tatum recovers from his spin at 20. Fritz finishes the corner at 100.

Beckman knocks down 2 wear at 80 and slides in on the spoiler of the #23. Rando runs the outer rail of The Wall at 60 for free. Kennard takes the line at 60 for free.

Marvin and Kay take turns in the 40 spot at 80. They continue side-by-side racing after depositing 2 wear into the discard box.

Bauska burns his last wear at 80 on the line and pushes the open-wheel race car into last place. For now.

A few more wear come off and a spin amongst the back markers.

Turn 35 Summary

Peeples extends his lead at 140 out of the Esses. Brandt gets out the Esses for free at 100 on the line. Swaine catches the bumper of the #46 by burning a precious wear on the S2 line at 120.

Beckman gets the initiative at 120. S1 is free while S2 cost a wear. Fritz runs both the Ess curve lines for free at 100.

Marvin takes S1 for free at 120 and has the S2 line. Kay follows the same path at 120 and gains position on the inside.

Tatum keeps the pace at 100 and the bonus. Kennard runs S1 for free at 120 on the line.

Bauska plots 140 but has no place to put his car other than a chance roll. The RM chooses the better dice on the late brake (naked 12) and with no wear to pay the damage, the black machine spins around. Rando ducks inside the rotating car at 120.

Beckman eases down the straight at 140 with the Triangle on his mind. Fritz pulls into his exhaust at 140.

Kay goes outer rail at 100 for free. Marvin runs the S2 line for free and ducks inside.

Tatum pulls even with the #43 at 100 through the line. Kennard also clears the Esses at 100.

Rando runs the Esses at 100 for free and picks up a bumper. Bauska recovers from his spin at 60, requesting the inside lane.

The lead pack clears the Triangle. The theme of the chase pack is 'who will pass Jim?' The chase pack will also have some decisions to make next turn. Mater & the tornado are idling by just in case.

Turn 37 Summary

Peeples taps down to 60 and takes the line for free.

Brandt runs the outer rail at 80 for his last wear. Swaine plots 80 then grabs the dice cup to get to 60 (naked 7). He uses the line for free.

Beckman, at 100, flies into the Triangle on the outside. Fritz stays hot on his tail and has the line at 100.

Marvin slows down to 120 to set up the line. That's gonna cost four positions.

Kay passes Jim on the inside at 160. Tatum passes Jim on the outside at 160 and has the line.

Kennard, at 160 and with the bonus, passes Jim and ducks in front of him (this will be interesting). Rando, at 160 and the bonus, stays with the pack and has the inside on Jim.

Bauska is probably happy not to be in that chase pack right now. 80 for free.

Wow! Seven dice rolls and huge movement in the standings.

Turn 38 Summary

Peeples successfully pushes the gas pedal to 120 (naked 4).

Brandt punches the accelerator and it responds at 160 for the lead (naked 7). Swaine tries for 120 but the dice say 'NO!' (naked 10). He re-plots to 100 and his engine is now compromised.

Beckman drops to 80 and burns off his last tire. Fritz taps down to 60 to complete the Triangle line.

Kay rolls to the outside at 100, knocking off 2 wear. Kennard plots 100, moves one space and late brakes (naked 4) to 80. When he hits the exit row, he tries a chance roll (naked 7) but just can't keep the car straight. Around he goes! Tatum, at 80, uses up his last 2 wear in the 40 spot, passing 3 cars in the standings.

Rando plots 100 then late brakes with his last skill (modified 9). He careens around the inner rail for 2 wear and, like Tatum, moves ahead 3 spots in the standings. Marvin plots 100 but finds a blocked line. He late brakes to 80 with his last 2 skill (modified 7) and drops a wear on the line.

Bauska brings up the rear at a sedate 100.

Plenty of dice with a few close shaves but no mishaps.

Turn 39 Summary

Brandt taps down to 140 and grabs the outside line. Peeples pushes his engine to 160 (naked 9) and with inside position, takes the back the lead.

Swaine babies the engine at 120.

Tatum has the initiative at 160 and pulls into Swaine's exhaust. Beckman uses a skill chip to plot 140 (modified 5) and set up behind Tatum.

Rando goes to the dice cup at 160 (naked 8) to pull even with the yellow machine. Kay, at 160 and the bonus, move up 2 positions on the leader board. Fritz pushes to 120 (naked 9).

Marvin exit the Triangle at 140. Kennard pulls off the tarmac after a shouting match with his crew chief (retired).

Bauska, with nothing to lose, chances the Triangle at 120 (naked 3).

The calm before the next storm...

Turn 40 Summary

Peeples plots 120 before additional brake tapping (naked 5) brings him down to 100 and the outer rail for free. Brandt slows to 80 to take a racing line.

Swaine pulls into the outer line at 140.

Tatum, at 160, dives onto the inner line. Kay, also at 160, is left with the outside lane.

Rando has initiative at 140 and is able to stay on Kay's bumper with the bonus. Beckman tucks in behind his racing mate at 120 and the slip.

Fritz and Marvin stay in formation at 140 apiece, drifting one lane to the right as they try to catch the outside racing line.

Bauska finishes out the Triangle at 80, hoping to move up the board via attrition.

The field stays orderly through The 90. This is shaping up to be a terrific ending!

Turn 41 Summary

Peeples and Brandt finish out The 90 to pace the field.

Tatum over-brakes to 60 w/ 1s (modified 6) and takes his line for free. Swaine runs the outer line for free at 80. Kay clips a tire at 100 on the outer rail and gains position on the McDonald's Chevy.

Rando rolls through his line at 80 for free. Beckman follows the same path, also at 80.

Marvin plots 120 and has the initiative before late braking to 100 (naked 8). He scrapes off his last wear on the outside line. Fritz, at 100, runs the outside rail for free.

Bauska ramps up his speed to 140 on the straight.

Well that was interesting...

Turn 42 Summary

Peeples, at 80, dives into the Hairpin on the inside rail for a chance roll (naked 4). He keeps the car out of the kitty litter and maintains his position! Brandt is happy to run the Hairpin 80's for free at 80.

Swaine has initiative at 120 but needs a roll to get there (naked 8). He sees the hole in the 60's and late brakes to 100 in front of the corner (naked 11). Catastrophe! Busted brakes and, more important, 1 wear damage. He rolls into the 60 spot for his last wear and a chance roll (naked 7). Almost, but still he spins.

At 100, Kay moves next. His checklist has his route through the 60's and a forced pass attempt with 2 skill (modified 1). He weaves his way around the spun car! Tatum takes his 80 into the middle lane and probably wondering if he's the only sane driver on the track.

Rando pulls up to the Hairpin on the inside at 80. Beckman comes up well short of the corner at 80.

Marvin pulls even with the yellow machine at 100. Fritz slows to 80 to finish the 90 wear free.

Bauska eases his way towards the 90 at 120.

The race leaders have the same idea but only one can get what they want.

Turn 43 Summary

Peeples plots 120 before late braking to 100 (naked 6). He tosses his last wear in the middle lane. Kay plots 120 and also late brakes (naked 5). With his preferred route occupied, he goes outer rail.

Brandt rolls into the Amphitheater 80's for free at 80. Swaine recovers from his spin at 20.

Tatum finishes out the Hairpin at 80. Rando takes an RM plot of 60. His 2nd NPR of the race comes with a 1-wear penalty.

Beckman runs the Hairpin for free at 80. Marvin takes the inside route at 60.

Fritz enters the Hairpin for free at 80. Bauska clears The 90 on the outside racing lane.
