Lots of movement in the standings this turn with a new (for now?) race leader!

Benham rolls through T1 at 80 on the line for free before grabbing the T3 line. Harley, at 120, drops 2 tires on the T1 line then takes inside position on the orange racer for the lead.

Hoyt has initiative at 140. He late brakes before the corner with 1s (modified 2) then clips 2 tires on the T1 line. Bernhardt, at 100, runs the T1 line for a wear.

Hudson pulls up to T1 on the line at 120. Fritz, at 140, takes inside position in front of the corner. Harrington stays on the bumper of the Dr. Pepper Toyota at 120 and the bonus.

Scarpino roars out of T16 at 160 to cross into lap 2. Snouffer finishes out T16 at 100.

Gatlin hangs himself up in the T16 corner at 100 on the line. Weisen, at 120, navigates T13 for free then sets up T15 on the line.

The wee engines battle while the bigger power plants bide their time...

Turn 15 Summary

Harley careens around the outer rail in T3 for 2 wear before blocking up the line. Benham is unfazed at 60. He runs the line for free.

Hoyt takes his 80 plot through the inside 40 and deposits 2 wear to take the (temporary?) lead. Bernhardt didn't like what he saw at 100 so he brakes down to 80 with a wear. He then knocks back 2 more wear on the inner 40 and will clear the corner.

Fritz spends wear like it's going out of style. At 100, he clips 2 in the T1 60 before dropping another 2 on the T3 line. Hudson runs the T1 line for free at 80.

Harrington follows the line of the blue Chevy, also at 80. Scarpino catches the conga line at 100, burning a wear on T1.

Snouffer mis-judges his distance to the corner and tears into T1 at 160. Fortunately, this turn has a run-off lane to the outside, which he takes for 2 wear.

Bauska finishes out T16 at 100. Weisen rolls through T15 at 100 on the line.

The dice are friendly this Monday morning.

Turn 16 Summary

Hoyt tries to coax a little more from his engine as he pushes to 140 w/ 1s (modified 9). The pistons complain a bit but come through. Harley pulls alongside, also at 140.

Benham has the initiative at 140 but not without an appeal to the dice gods (naked 7). He grabs the bumper on the blue machine. Bernhardt, at 100 and the bonus, comes into the draft of the orange racer.

Fritz finishes out the T3 line at 100 and parks to the outside to shake any tails. Hudson, at 100, turns skill into wear as rolls on the chance table w/ 2s (modified 5) and, with the addition of 1 tire, safely navigates the line.

Harrington drops to 60 and takes the T3 line for free. Scarpino is ready for a blocked line and runs the inside 40 for 2 wear at his plotted speed of 80.

Snouffer finishes out T1 at 100 before setting up T3 on the line. Bauska addresses T1 on the line at 140. Weisen runs the T16 line at 100 for free.

Everyone is in lap 2 with most cars spread out along the big straight.

Turn 17 Summary

Harley gets the initiative at 160 by pushing his top speed w/ 1s (modified 2). He sets up the line but has some touch decisions ahead with his compromised brakes. Hoyt slides into the exhaust of the #27 at 140, ceding position for the tail.

Benham pulls up on the inside of the NAPA Chevy at 140 and the bonus. Bernhardt loses contact with the lead pack at 120 and the slip.

Frtiz and Hudson scoot down the straight at 140 apiece with the #72 grabbing the wing of the #23.

Scarpino keeps the pace at 140. Harrington drops back a car length at 120.

Snouffer taps down to 60 and avoids wear expenditure on the T3 line. Bauska rubs out three tires between the T1 and T3 lines at 100.

Weisen crosses into lap 2 at 160 and sets up the T1 line.

Some risky driving out front but all ends well.

Turn 18 Summary

Harley over brakes to 120 with a wear then a late brake prior to the corner w/ 1s (modified 3). He takes the T4 line at 100 and leaves two more wear on the track.

Hoyt gets the initiative at 140. He then late brakes to 120 w/ 1s (modified 3) and careens around the outer rail for 2 tires plus his big chip on the chance table (modified 3). Whew! Benham clips 2 tires as he races into the T4 line at 100.

Bernhardt pulls up the T4 on the line at 120. Fritz comes right up in his exhaust at 140. Hudson, at 140 and the bonus, takes the inside for a position gain.

Scarpino and Harrington roll down the long straight at 160 each. Snouffer goes to the dice cup w/ 1s to bring his racer up to 140 (modified 3).

Bauska finishes out his T3 line at 100. Weisen bides his time at 80 on the T1 line for free. When will he push the GO button?!

Half the field passes the first time trap and tires are becoming a scarce commodity with a lot of race to go.

Turn 19 Summary

Harley takes his machine up to max speed at 140. Hoyt does the same and jumps on the Chevy's tailpipe.

Benham finishes out T4 at 100. Bernhardt drops 2 tires on the T4 line then sits on the wing of the orange racer.

Fritz gets initiative at 120. He rockets into T4 on the line for 2 wear and takes his big chip to the craps table (modified 0). He easily makes his roll. Hudson over brakes to 80 (1 wear) before knocking down 2 more wear in the T4 40 spot.

At 100, Scarpino clips 2 tires on the T4 line to clear. Harrington pulls up to T4 on the line at 100.

Snouffer tops out his engine at 160. Bauska does the same to keep the pace. Weisen deposits a wear on the T3 line at 80.

Hudson tests his engine with 1s to run down the straight at 140 (modified 6). Scarpino flies out of T4 at 160 and, with an inside curb request, misses out on the bumper ahead.

Harrington clips a tire on the T4 line at 80. Snouffer dumps 2 tires on the same line at 100.

Bauska addresses T4 on the line at 140. Weisen makes up some ground at 160 down the long straight.

Lots of cars headed into the big, multi-apex corner next turn...

Turn 21 Summary

Harley rolls into the large banked hairpin at 120 on the inner rail for a wear. Hoyt, also at 120 and a wear, gets on the leaders tail and follows him into the turn.

Fritz and his co-rookie driver Benham take turns through the T8 line at 120 and remain side by side going into the big corner.

Bernhardt continues at 120 through T8 but has no room to use the slip. Hudson takes the T6 line for free at 140 then burns a wear on the T8 line. He finds some space to put his car among the chase pack.

Scarpino runs the T6/T8 lines at 120 for free and sits a car length behind the pack.

Harrington pulls up to T6 on the line at 140. Snouffer, at 160, makes up some space but fails to ask for a bumper.

Bauska clips 2 tires on the T4 line at 100. Weisen approaches T4 on the line at 160.

The big pack of cars in the front shuffle around a bit. There's one car with a tire advantage and one with an engine advantage in that group, albeit they have some cars to pass. Plenty of open space with the back markers but they have some track to make up.

Turn 22 Summary

Harley finishes out the horseshoe at 100 via the 80's with already paid wear. Hoyt does the same and blocks up an exit row.

Benham has initiative at 140. He takes the banked 100's for 2 wear before sliding over to the 120's. Fritz, at 120, clips a tire in the 100's and pulls in behind the #24.

Hudson gets the initiative at 120. He burns a tire in the 100's and gets the bonus space with the slip. Bernhardt, at 100 and the bonus, rolls around the horseshoe for free.

Scarpino enters T10 at 100 for free.

Harrington runs the T6 & T8 lines for free at 120. Snouffer, at 140, scrapes off a tire in T8 to pull even with the purple & white machine.

Bauska hits T6 on the line at 140 for free. Weisen uses his big brakes to bring his speed down to 80, scrubbing a wear on the T4 line.

Benham pulls out of T10 at 140, follows the leaders, and falls in line. Fritz finishes out T10 at 120 before occupying the T13 line.

Hudson picks up the pace to 140 w/ wear already paid. A blocked T13 line pushes him into the outer rail. Bernhardt moseys up to T13 on the line at 120.

Scarpino pulls back to 80 and finds the exit row in the horseshoe.

Harrington races into the banked corner at 140, dropping 2 tires in the 100's. Snouffer rolls into T10 at a relatively sedate 100.

Bauska clips a tire on the T8 line at 140. Weisen makes good use of his big engine at 160.

No one makes a move this turn and the race stays orderly.

Fritz & Hudson follow the leaders at 100 as well. They both clear Turn 15.

Bernhardt, at 120, burns off some speed on the outer rail of T13 before setting up the T15 line. Scarpino rolls through the T13 line for free at 140 and opts for the inside lane.

Harrington finishes out the horseshoe at 140 and Snouffer does the same at 100.

Bauska scrapes a tire at 120 through the 100's of the banked corner. Weisen drops a wear at 140 on the T8 line.
