Still congested behind the leaders. But that will probably change as the field hits the three-wide section of the track.

Turn 13 summary:
Swaine drops down to 100 with a one skill deceleration roll and runs the corner 1 line for one wear. Pellegrino pushes his engine to 160 (two skill) and it responds, closing the gap by three lengths on the leader. Polcen keeps at a safe 100 around the final corner racing line. Kennington follows in the black racecar's tire tracks.

Coyle plots 120 to get the jump then brakes to 100 (zero skill) and follows Kennington around the racing line. Schulz does 120 but with the line stacked up he dives into the 80s shedding two wear and moving into P4. Rando plots 100 and with a "clear the corner at all costs" attitude taking him through the 60 for two wear and P5. Kellison has the initiative at 100 around the corner 15 100s for free and grabs the next line.

Brandt is able to run the 15 racing line at 100 for free but Kellison is on the next line so he drops to the curb. Haskell also runs the 15 line at 100 and also finds the silver machine blocking access to the line. He drops in behind Brandt. Brown follows the others around the line at 100 and slots in the only place he fits. Rae completes the 15 corner with the rest at 100 for free.

(Just a note: 10 of 12 drivers did 100 this turn. Everybody tip-toeing through 15 & 16.)

Next deadline: turn 14 due Wednesday, May 29 at 4pm EDT/8pm UTC
No turn due Monday, U.S. holiday.

Again the lead pair yo-yo as Pellegrino makes up some ground. There's a pack about to hit corner 1.

Turn 14 summary:
Swaine sheds one wear in order to clear corner 3 at 80. Pellegrino takes the corner 1 line at 120 dropping two wear. Polcen maxes at 160 to hold his slim lead on P3. Schulz gets the jump out of the three-wide at 140 and keeps to the inside.

Rando is next to move, also at 140 to keep even with Schulz. Kennington also plots 140 but he has the advantage of starting behind Polcen who gives him a bonus and lets him move ahead of his (now former) row mates. Coyle uses all his acceleration to get to 160 and reform the three-wide heading to the corner. Brandt taps the brakes to 80 and takes the 80s around the final corner for free.

Kellison outguns the two cars beside him at 140, scrubbing off two wear on the line and picking up three positions. Brown leaves one wear on the line at 100 and challenges Brandt for position. Haskell takes the conservative approach around the 80s at speed. Rae runs the line at a safe 100, clearing the corner.

Next deadline: turn 15 due Friday, May 31 at 4pm EDT/8pm UTC

NOTE: turn 16 will have a soft deadline of 12noon EDT on Monday, June 3 as I will be leaving town at 1pm EDT and will be nowhere near civilization for the remainder of the day and night. Please try to get your moves in by then. If not, the hard deadline will still be 4pm EDT and I will adjudicate Tuesday morning when I return.

The first five start to break up but corner 1 bunches up the remaining cars.

Turn 15 summary:
Swaine maxes his acceleration to 120 and drops to the inside. Pellegrino sheds two wear on the corner 3 racing line and now sits four car lengths behind the leader. Polcen rounds the corner 1 line at 100 scrubbing off one wear. Kennington follows in his tracks dropping one wear as well. Both start the next line.

Rando squeezes out of the three-wide at 120 leaving two wear on the corner 1 line but he's forced to the middle lane to finish the move. Schulz plots 100 then late brakes to 80 to take the line for free. Coyle plots 80, testing his brakes and looking for the line. But with Schulz already there he takes the 80s. Kellison finishes the lap with a 140 move to the corner 1 line.

The main straight crowd comes to their feet as Brown roars by at 180 and finishes inside of Kellison and into P8. Brandt doesn't have the acceleration to reach his 180 top and chooses to do 160 instead of tax his engine. Haskell also can only get to 160 but a slip lets him pull even with Brandt. Rae comes off of corner 16 and hits his maximum of 160.

Next deadline: turn 16 due Monday at 4pm EDT/8pm UTC

Deadline note: I have rearranged things so I can adjudicate at 4pm, this will be 4pm SHARP. If I get all moves before then I will probably put the turn out a little early.

The pack works its way through corners 1 & 3, so far with no problems.

Turn 16 summary:
Swaine does 140 down the straight preparing to approach corner 4. Pellegrino maxes at 140 to keep pace with the leader. Polcen drops two wear on the corner 3 line at 100. Kennington starts at 120 then late brakes to 100 around the corner 3 line for two wear.

Rando plots 100 shedding two wear around the 60s and finishing on Kennington's tail. Schulz clears corner 3 on the line at 100 for two wear. Coyle finishes the 80s at speed and sets up on the corner 3 line. Brown makes a big move as he scrubs off two wear in the corner 1 60 and two more into the corner 3 60s at 100.

Kellison uses one skill to slow to a safe 80 around the corner 1 line but Coyle sitting on the corner 3 line forces him to the inside. Brandt uses a wear to take the corner 1 line at 100 but the only open space to finish the move is in the middle. Haskell uses his big brakes to get down to 80 and cover the corner 1 line for free, setting up on the corner 3 line behind the green racecar. Rae also uses his big brakes to get down to 80 and takes the corner 1 line for free.

The field makes it through corner 3 but not without a little "adjustment"

Turn 17 summary:
Swaine slows slightly to 120 on the corner 4 line. Pellegrino makes up a car length as he keeps at 140. Polcen uses all his acceleration to reach his 160 top speed. He chooses to stay outside to shake the draft. (Spoiler alert: it didn't work) Kennington makes a one skill acceleration roll to get to 160 and stays on the black racecar's tailpipe.

Rando keeps pace with a 140 plot and a slip from Kennington. (He is also in Polcen's mirror) Schulz gets up to 140 off the corner and drops inside. Brown finishes the corner 3 60s at 100, wear already paid, and moves to the inside. Kellison taps the brakes to 60 for one wear around the inside of the corner and lines up behind Brown.

Brandt plots 80 around the 60s for one wear and finishes outside on the line. Coyle takes his third RM plot for two wear, slowing to 60 around the 60s. Haskell wants to hit the corner at 100 but there's no room for that. Two wear later he's down to 60 around the racing line. Rae does 80 into the inner 40 space shedding two wear and picking up two positions.

The field gets single file, but still tight. Coyle is NPR for the fourth time and is removed from the track.

Turn 18 summary:
Swaine runs the corner 4 line at 80 for one wear. Pellegrino follows on the line at 100 shedding two wear and now sitting just two car-lengths behind the leader. Polcen is going to rely on his brakes next turn as he hits the line at 160. Kennington does 140 with his smaller deceleration to account for, but a slip from Polcen allows him to keep pace.

Rando, also wary of his damaged brakes, plots 120 and gets a slip, but it's not enough to hold on to the draft. Schulz runs the inside of the straightaway at 140. Brown opens up to 180 and makes up two lengths on Schulz. Kellison maxes his acceleration to 120 but gets the big bonus from Brown although he, too, loses the draft.

Brandt does 160 and drops to the inside behind the silver machine. Rae is able to get to 160 and stays on Brandt's wing. Haskell uses his full engine to get to 140 and lines up behind Rae.

A battle develops for the lead.

Turn 19 summary:
Swaine uses his full acceleration to get to 120 and approach corner 6. Pellegrino is able to come off corner 4 at 140 and tuck in behind the leader. Polcen takes the corner 4 line at 100 shedding two wear and moving to the middle land to shake the draft. Kennington follows around the line also at 100 but he can't get behind the black racecar.

Rando is into the corner at 100 also for two wear, clearing on the line. Schulz slows to 100 and starts the line into the corner. Brown slows to 140 and keeps to the curb, picking up a position. Kellison, wary of his deceleration, does 140 and slides outside to grab the line.

Brandt also does 140 and stays inside, the bonus giving him P8. Rae plots 160 which allows him to stay on Brandt's wing. Haskell is counting on his big brakes to slow him into the corner as he approaches wide open at 180.

The front five stay strung out but the chase pack is still jostling

Turn 20 summary:
Swaine covers the corner 6/8 combination at 120 for free on both lines. Pellegrino follows around both corners right in his tire tracks. Polcen shoots the straightaway and enters corner 6 at 140 on the line. Kennington stays on the black car's tail and starts the line behind him.

Rando comes off corner 4 at 160 and tucks in behind the dark blue machine. Brown uses his big brakes to get down to 60 shedding one wear in the 40 and sliding outside to block the line. With the line blocked, Schulz is forced through the 60s at 100 dropping two wear but picking up P6 on the inside. Kellison has enough room to take the line at 100 scrubbing off two wear.

Brandt uses all his braking power to get down to 80 around the inside of the corner leaving two wear behind. Haskell runs the line behind Kellison at 100 costing him two wear. Rae also needs his big brakes to get down to 80 and runs the inside behind Brandt at the same two wear cost.

Half of the field has 6 wear or less, with our leader closest to bald tires. Should make for an interesting third lap.

Turn 21 summary:
Swaine drops half his remaining wear in the corner 10 100s at 140. Pellegrino gets the bonus from Swaine and takes the 120s at speed. Polcen runs the corners 6&8 line combination at 120 for free.

Kennington follows but at 140, shedding one wear in corner 8 and contesting P3. Rando tests his already damaged brakes with one skill. They groan but hold to get him down to 120. He gets a slip from Kennington so is able to take the double racing line combination for free and keeps pace.

The entire chase pack plots 140 and keeps in 2x3 formation entering corner 6. Only Brown is denied potential use of the corner 6 line next turn.

The mid-pack tightens up in corner 10 while the rear-pack continues to jostle but keep shape.

Turn 22 summary:
Swaine finishes corner 10 at 140 for already paid wear and clears corner 13 on the line. Pellegrino continues at 100 shedding one wear in the 80s. Kennington gets the jump on the black car at 120 and stays wide around the corner for one wear. Polcen slows to 100 around the inside of the corner also spending one wear and maintaining his position.

Rando drives into the outer lane of the corner at 100 for free. Brown does 120 around the inside of corner 6 and across the corner 8 line for free. Schulz also plots 120 and takes both lines to stay abreast of Brown. Kellison gets the initiative with a 140 plot taking the corner 6 line for free and dropping one wear in the corner 8 120s.

Brandt takes both lines at 120 for free but loses the position to Kellison's inside finish. Rae does 140 around the corner 6 line for free and clears corner 8 in the 120s knocking off one wear. Haskell navigates both racing lines at 120 for free and swaps positions with Rae at corner exit.

Pellegrino again catches the leader. Corner 10 keeps the last four cars tightly packed.

Turn 23 summary:
Swaine slows to 100 and takes the corner 15 line for free. Pellegrino runs the corner 13 line at 140 for free and starts the 15 line on the leader's wing. Polcen comes through the corner 10 120s at 140 for already paid wear and uses the corner 13 line for free. Kennington duplicates that move but must go outside in 13.

Rando continues at 100 in the 100s for free. Schulz makes a big move shedding two wear in the corner 10 100s at 140. Brown slows to 100 keeping to the 100s for free. Kellison also runs into the corner 100s at 100 for free.

Brandt wants the 100s at speed but is forced into the 120s by Kellison. Rae plots 120 but the pair in front of him both did 100. He late brakes with one skill and stays on the curb. Haskell also expected the there to be room in the corner at 120 but has to use two skill to get down to 100.

Lap 3 could prove interesting with the mix of remaining wear.

Turn 24 summary:
Swaine clears corner 16 at 120 for one wear. Pellegrino chooses a cautious approach to the corner at 100 on the line. Polcen sheds one wear on the corner 15 line and sits three space behind P2 with a two wear advantage. Kennington slows to 100 and starts the line into corner 15.

Rando runs the 13 racing line at 140 for free and dives inside of the dark blue car, picking up a position. Schulz continues the corner 10 100s at 140 and runs the 13 line for free. Brown maintains 100 through the 100s for free. Kellison slows to 80 and hugs the curb all the way around the corner.

Brandt plots 100 and finishes by dropping down behind the silver machine. Rae is at 100 and wants the 100s all the way but he's forced into the 120s to finish the move. Haskell is also limited to a 100 plot and keeps it in the 100s to keep pace with the cars in front of him.
