The leaders are burning off precious wear in the hairpin and three distinct packs form up behind.

Turn 14 Summary

Fritz burns 2 tires in Rouen at 140. Harley follows at 140 for 2 wear to maintain the car length gap. Baker pulls up to Rouen at 140.

Peeples drops the hammer to 180 and grabs the tailpipe on the #11 car. Marvin, at 160, links up with the #7.

Benham, at 100, clips a tire in the Castellet 80's. Bauska runs the inside Castellet line at 100 for a wear before ducking in front of the orange machine.

Miller runs the outer Castellet line for free at 100. Swaine, at 120, opts for the outer rail and a wear. He pulls in on the bumper of the #44.

Brandt scrapes off a wear at 100 on the inner Castellet line. Hancock drops a wear on the outer line at 120. Brown, also at 120, sets up the outside Castellet line.

Bauska pulls up to the hairpin at 120. Miller has initiative at 140 and gets the middle lane. Benham makes it three-wide at 120 and the bonus.

Swaine, at 140, grabs the tailpipe on the #51 car. Brandt shows off his engine at 180 and catches the big chase pack.

Hancock finishes out Castellet at 120. Brown runs the outside Castellet line at 100 for free.

Turn 16 Summary

Fritz pulls up to the outermost Watkins Glen line at 160. Harley pushes to 180 (naked 6) to grab the bumper of the race leader.

Peeples blasts out of Rouen at 180. Baker, at 160, settles in on the wing of the #7 car.

Nobody is bare yet but 5 cars have 1 wear left...

Turn 17 Summary

Fritz runs The Glen on the outer line at 140 for half of his remaining wear. Harley does the same and pulls even with the bonus.

Peeples takes the Watkins Glen outer line for free at 120. Baker, at 120 and the slip, runs the outer rail for free before reconnecting to his benefactor's bumper. Slick little move if Peeples drops the hammer...

Marvin careens into The Glen on the outer line for 2 wear at 160. Benham rolls down the straight at 160.

Miller gets initiative at 160 over the beleaguered engines in the same row. He pulls into the rearview mirror of the orange machine. Swaine keeps the pace at 140 and the bonus. Bauska, at 140, slides in on the wing of the #3 car.

Brandt finishes out Rouen at 120. Hancock does the same and moves towards the rail.

Brown clips a tire at 100 on the Rouen 80's to hit an exit row.

Turn 18 Deadline: Wednesday, May 8th @ 8 a.m. EST (12 noon GMT)
Trigger option in effect all week.

No write-up for now. If time permits, I'll do it later. Quick comments - Miller pulled a 'Baker' but is hoping for better results. Bauska moved up three spots through the Glen.

The dice gods are feeling generous today...

Turn 19 Summary

Fritz over brakes to 100 (naked 2) then dives into Hermanos Rodriguez on the line. With bald tires, the chance table beckons, and after putting his last 2sp on the roll he comes out the other side unscathed (modified 5). Harley is right behind the leader at 100 as he readies the corner on the line.

Peeples and Baker trade paint through the COA 120 with the former grabbing the H.R. line.

Marvin, in stealth mode, stalks the leaders.

Bauska tests his troubled engine once again to hit 160 (naked 5). Benham stays astride the #51, also at 160.

Miller gets the initiative at 160 and with the bonus sets up a three-wide doing into COA. Swaine keeps the pace at 140 and the slip.

Brandt runs the innermost line in Watkins Glen for free at 100.

Hancock clips 2 tires on the outermost Glen line at 160. Brown, at 120, burns a wear on the inner line and slides in on the wing of the Triad Toyota.

A spin on the track creates a few issues but nothing major. Two NPR's this turn. There are no reminders in this race so please stay on top of it.

Turn 20 Results

Fritz attempts an over brake to 60 (naked 11) and with no wear to pay for the failed test, he spins like a top in the middle of the Hermanos Rodriguez line. With the brake damage, ANY reduction in speed will require a brake test.

Harley is forced off his line and into the 80's for free at 80. Unfortunately, he did not anticipate being able to use the Marina Bay line and did not request it.

Baker is unaffected by the obstacle in Rodriguez. He cruises around the #23 at 80 and grabs the M.B. line. Peeples' RM plot of 80 puts him next to the #11 but off line. He takes a 1 wear penalty for the NPR.

Marvin pulls up to Rodriguez on the line at 100. He'll have options no matter which lane Fritz takes next turn.

Bauska runs the COA 140's for free and grabs the Rodriguez line behind the black Toyota. Fritz also rounds COA at 140 in the fast lane and picks up a position on the inside rail.

Miller plots 140 before late braking to 120 with 2s (modified 8). He runs COA for free and settles in on the outer rail.

Brandt enters the COA 140's at 140. Hancock takes his 2nd PM plot of 140 along with a 2 wear penalty for the NPR. Brown pulls up next to the silver machine at 160.

Between a spin recovery and the leader's slow-down, the narrow portion of the track is tighter than a sardine can. Expect this to continue through Suzuka & Instanbul.

Turn 21 Summary

Harley slow-plays the Marina Bay 80's at 60 to block the line.

Baker, with the line blocked, takes his 80 to the outer rail in M.B. and now has the lead. Peeples finds a blocked track and must late brake from 80 to 60 (naked 5).

Fritz recovers from his spin at 20 and sets up the M.B. line. Marvin is unfazed by all the drama as he runs Hermanos Rodriguez on the line for free before burning a wear in the M.B. 60.

Benham clips a tire in the H.R. 80's at 100. He settles in on the inside rail with a blocked M.B. line. Miller goes next, also at 100. He drops a wear in the H.R. 80's before finding a hole in front of M.B. (note that he is off-line).

Bauska goes last out of his row at 80. With limited track space, he takes the H.R. outer rail for free and slides in next to the maroon Toyota. Swaine follows the red & black machine through the H.R. 80's for free at 80.

Brandt pulls up to Rodriguez on the inside rail at 120. Hancock grabs the H.R. line at 120. Brown brings up the rear and finds himself in the run-off lane.

The cars slowly snake their way through the narrow track while three more cars are now on bald tires.

Turn 22 Summary

Harley nicks his last tire at 100 on the Suzuka line and grabs the top spot. Baker runs the Suzuka line for free at 80.

Marvin and Peeples plot 80 with the former opting to cede the Suzuka line. Peeples gets the line.

Benham burns a wear in the Marina Bay 80's at 100 and moves in behind the #78, also giving up the line. Miller (off-line) runs to the outside of M.B. at 80 and tucks in behind the orange racer.

Bauska has the initiative at 100 and scrubs his last 2 wear in the M.B. 60. He moves up several positions and has the Suzuka line for his efforts. Fritz's small engine gets up to 40 and sits on the M.B. line.

Swaine takes the outer rail in Marina Bay at 80 for free.

At 100, Brandt hits the Hermanos Rodriguez 80's for a wear then clips another in the M.B. 80's. Hancock plots 100 and burns off his last tire in the H.R. 80's. With no space to put his car, he late brakes to 80 w/ 2s (modified 1). He settles in on the M.B. line. Brown moves last at 80 and runs the outer rail of H.R. for free.

The cars remain jam packed with a few position changes...

Turn 23 Results

Harley punches into the Istanbul 60's at 80 on the chance table (naked 4). He dodges a bullet and will escape the treacherous, tight corners next turn. Baker pulls up to Istanbul at 80 on the inside.

Marvin runs the outer rail of Suzuka at 80 for free. Peeples takes the open Suzuka line at 80 and gets in on Baker's tailpipe.

Benham clips a tire in the Suzuka 60's at 80 to pull up on the numbers of the #78 car. Bauska, with his line blocked, rolls to the outside 80's for free then parks himself on the line.

Miller can't use the line at 80 so runs the outer rail in Suzuka.

Swaine gets the initiative at 100. He takes his red Chevy into Suzuka on the line for his last wear. Fritz pushes his car to get to 80 (naked 5) and sets up the Suzuka line.

Brandt, at 100, takes inside position on the brakeless Dr. Pepper Toyota.

Brown rolls around the Marina Bay 80's for free. Hancock does the same as the back markers patiently await for some open racing.

The super-tight Istanbul corner gets blocked up. Here come the brake lights and one bold move...

Turn 24 Summary

Harley finishes out Istanbul at 80. Baker runs the Istanbul 60's at 100 for his last 2 wear.

Peeples dives into the Istanbul 40's at 40 to start the blockage.

Marvin, at 80, rounds the Istanbul 60's with 1s on the chance table (modified 4). He keeps the car on the pavement. Benham, at 80 and no room at the inn, goes for broke and attempts a forced pass on the #7 car (naked 8). He squeezes through and coughs up his last 2 wear to clear the corner.

Bauska wisely plots 60 and grabs the Istanbul line.

Swaine, at 80, takes inside position on the #51 car. Miller also plots 80 but has no space to use it. With no instructions on how to handle a late brake, he drops a wear to get to 60 and grabs the line.

Brandt clips a tire at 80 through the Suzuka 60. He takes the inside lane to move up the board. Fritz, at 80, has no place to use the line. He re-routes to the outer rail.

Brown drops into the Suzuka 60 space at 60. Hancock takes his 3rd NPR of the lap and is disqualified from the race per house rules.

Two spins this turn, oh my!

Turn 25 Summary

Harley pushes his engine to 160 towards Spa. Baker stays hot on his tail, also at 160. Benham pulls onto the straight at 120.

Marvin finishes out Istanbul at 80. Peeples increases speed to 60 to round the outer rail in Istanbul then blocks the racing line.

Swaine takes the outside 60's in Istanbul at speed. Bauska starts the line at 60 but then has to jump off at the exit. A roll on the chance table spins the car (naked 7)!

Miller gets initiative at 100. He starts the line for 2 wear then with Bauska's grill facing him, must jump off line to forced pass. The chance roll w/ 3s comes up with a spin (modified 8)!

Brandt, at 60, moves into the Istanbul 60's for free.

Fritz plots 60, requiring a decel roll (naked 6). He also enters the corner behind the green Toyota.

Brown pulls up to Istanbul on the line at 80.

All cars clear the slow part of the track - mostly high speed racing from here on out!

Turn 26 Summary

Harley enters Spa for free in the 120's with Baker hot on his heels.

Benham pulls up to Spa in the middle lane at 160. Marvin pushes his engine to get to 140 (naked 5). Peeples loses some ground at 120.

Bauska recovers from his spin at 60. Swaine finishes out Istanbul at 60.

Brandt has initiative at 60. He goes round Istanbul on the outer rail then sits on the line. Miller ducks inside at 40 for his spin recovery.

Frtiz continues at 60 to reach the exit row. Brown, at 100, has only one sane way through: He drops 2 wear in the 60's then passes the #23 w/ 2s (modified 5). He escapes the corner to find a bit of pavement on the long straight.

Many appeals to the dice gods today with one sacrifice required.

Turn 27 Results

Harley plots a dastardly 100 and sits on the Spa exit row. Baker, at 120, must late brake to 100 (naked 11). With no wear to pay for the damage, he spins in the corner.

This backs up Benham as well. He rolls into Spa on the 120's but must also late brake to 100 (naked 9). He narrowly makes the roll - it looks like the gods have taken their pound of flesh.

Marvin enters the 120 in Spa at 120 for free. Peeples pulls up to Spa at 140 in the middle lane.

Bauska pushes his engine to get up to 140. He manages to find the horses without shutting the power plant down (naked 9). Swaine at 120 and the bonus, stays on the bumper of the #51 Chevy.

Brown gets the initiative at a whopping 180. He zooms down the straight to pick up a few positions. Brandt is next at 160, using his last 2 sp on the Acc roll (modified 2). He tucks in behind the speedy M&M's Toyota.

Miller moves last out of the row at 100 and has to push to get there w/ 1s (modified 7). Fritz also pushes to 100 (naked 9) and runs in on the wing of the black machine.

Turn 28 Deadline: Friday, May 31st @ 8 a.m. EST (12 noon GMT)

Will anybody catch the Richmond Chevy? Will this race shatter the record for tornado graphic usage? When will Mater make an appearance? Stay tuned as we answer these important questions over the next few weeks...

Turn 28 Summary

Harley bolts out of Spa at 160 and set up the outer Catalunya line.

Baker recovers from his spin at 60. Benham builds his speed back up to the 120 speed limit and passes the FedEx Toyota.

Marvin finds the exit lane in Spa as he continues at 120. Peeples throws caution to the wind. He appeals to the dice gods as he takes his 120 plot into the Spa 100's (naked 8). Not today, Mr. Peeples: The car does a 180.

Brown has the initiative at 160. He rams his car into Spa on the 120's for 2 wear. Bauska plots 140 before late braking to 120 (naked 9). Two naked 9's in a row - somebody's living right. He runs the outer rail for free.

Swaine takes an RM plot of 120 and enters Spa for free. With no wear to pay the 2w penalty, his car spins at the end of his turn and suffers brake damage. Brandt's approach to Spa has him staring at two blocked lanes. At 120, he enters the 80's for 2 wear and is now on bald tires.

Miller pulls up to Spa on the inside at 140. Fritz keeps the pace at 120 and the bonus.
