Leaders

Introducing the Brazilian Cartography Club (BCC), established in order to remove all that green stuff until Brazil have actually greened it (or not). With the help of volunteers, the BCC extended this aim to include the whole world, and release their work for all leaders.

Paul President of Brazil,
Coincidently President of the BCC

Pursuant to the terms of use:
Similarity between the BCC map and The Other Map is intentional but does not imply accuracy. Questions about its accuracy should be addressed here. The BCC may publish a new map every year until it is not significantly different from The Other Map, or until the Brazilian government can no longer afford the funding, whichever comes sooner, but this cannot be guaranteed and no party should rely on its content.

Thank you for pointing out the error. Rest assured, the BCC are predicting the recruitment of additional cartographers.

The BCC have chosen a more artistic approach to cartography, along with the license that implies. For Year One we have the work of Lucas Pereira (aged seven and three quarters) winner of the BCC's annual competition for budding cartographers. He calls this "Light Before Dawn".

Lucas surely has a bright future ahead of him.

BCC News Year Two

Firstly, the BCC have relocated to The Green House in Brasilia. This building, named for its gardens and glass roof, captures the best of Brazilian architecture. The large windows are to be replaced with 200mm thick steel. Similar precautions are planned for the roof and external walls. Tourists need not worry, a thick coat of green reflective paint will ensure the modifications are barely noticeable.

In more exciting news, the BCC ruled that Artificial Intelligences may enter the annual cartography competition. Although many AIs lacked the imagination of the previous winner, there were a number of standout entries and after a fierce debate the BCC chose a piece from QW3/5a. Created using hyper-dimensional materials and strange other-worldly colours, some may find this representation difficult to understand.

QW3/5a surely has a bright future ahead of it.

Note this is only a rough approximation of the entry. Its true extent is much larger than it appears and also distorts the fabric of spacetime.
