100 years ago, the diplomats in Paris were still hammering out the details of the various treaties that would formally end the war. From the armistice with Germany in Nov 1918 to the last treaty (treaty of Lausanne, which settled Turkey, in July 1923) about 4.5 years passed, essentially the same length as the war. We should all be glad they took their time to make sure that the Great War was the war to end all wars. Oh wait . . .
