The Fourteen Points were largely silent about what would happen in Asia. Japan entered the war on the allied side in 1914 and promptly scooped up German possessions in the region. Japan was a signatory of the treaty of Versailles, and was given possession of all German territories in Asia north of the equator. These new island possessions scattered over most of the northwest Pacific ocean gave Japan need for a huge imperial navy, which they eventually put to use against their former ally the United States just 22 years later. Maybe Woody needed 15 or 16 points?
