If you had two franchises and you colluded you just might, might be able to beat the Lumberjacks with their having Braun and Trout at cut-rate salaries...

Good point.

Actually, my plan was to introduce some 18xx-like rules for next year. Phase 2 would be launching a hostile takeover of the Lumberjacks.
