The starting grid. Please check your position and stat box and let me know if there is any problem. The points box on the left will update every turn. Since there is no promotion/relegation for race 2, the tie-break logic for this race is arbitrary. At Watkins Glen the tie-break logic will show the actual position of the drivers in question.

Typical turn 1 shuffle with the leaders ending up three wide entering The Wall.

Next deadline: turn 2 due Wednesday, September 28 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 1 summary:
Jeff and Tim start at 100, Jeff taking the middle lane so he can grab the racing line next turn, Tim sliding to Jeff's outside. Kal pushes his start with two skill (modified 7) and takes the inside as it's the only lane available to him. This gives him the turn 1 lead. Chris starts at 60 and drops inside.

Brad pushes his start with two skill (modified 1) and ends up to Chris's outside. William takes his 60 start and lines up behind Chris. Simone with his 100 start is able to pass William for 6th place and makes it three wide with Chris and Brad.

Cody uses his 60 start and stays inside. Ken pushes his start with two skill (modified 7) and is able to squeeze in front of Cody and inside Grant to move up two spots to 8th. Will is satisfied with his 20 start.

Track Note: The first space past S1 does not have a gray side. According to Doug S. (the track designer) the inside is the space WITHOUT the racing line.

So far everyone is safe through the first corner, but it's still tight.

Next deadline: turn 3 due Friday, September 30 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 2 summary:
Jeff starts us through The Wall at 100 on the racing line, dropping two wear points. Tim also at 100 finds the line blocked and scrubs off two wear around the outside 60s. Kal also drops two wear in the corner at 80 around the 40s and holds on to first place. Chris uses his inside advantage to move up onto the racing line at 100.

Brad, also at 100, holds 5th place moving to Chris's inside. Simone is left with the inside lane but, like Kal last turn, picks up two positions in the process. William anticipates the three wide situation and plots 100, taking up the racing line right behind Chris. Ken looks for a slip but with William only doing 100 has to settle in beside the dark blue race car, gaining the position.

Grant at 100 chooses to stay in the middle and gets to the rear of Ken's race car. Cody plots 100 and with a slip from Ken moves into the lane to Grant's outside. Will mashes the gas and gets up to 80, staying inside.

No fewer than 9 cars changed positions this turn, including Tim grabbing the lead from Kal.

Next deadline: turn 4 due Monday, October 3 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 3 summary:
Kal makes a two skill acceleration roll (modified 8) to get to 140 and takes the Bridge racing line for free. Jeff also plots 140 and with Kal still on the line takes the outside for free. Tim plots 140 and gets a slip off of Jeff , taking the inside of Bridge and finishing inside Kal for the lead. Simone leaves two wear points in The Wall 40 space.

Chris drops two wear on The Wall line at 100 and finishes inside, picking up two spots. Brad slows to 80 and scrubs off a wear around the outside, finishing on the racing line to prevent following cars from using it. William wanted The Wall line at 100 but with Brad sitting on it he's forced around the outside shedding two wear point. Ken follows Simone around the inside of the wall at 80 also for two wear.

Cody drops to the bottom of the track at 80 and picks up three spots courtesy of the 40 space and two wear points. Grant is NPR so he slows to 60 and moves outside in The Wall corner. Will approaches the corner at 140 and sets up on the racing line.

Kal gets the initiative on Tim with a 140 plot and drops one wear through S1 and moves back into first place. Tim slows to 120 and takes the S1 line for free. Jeff gets a slip off of Kal but with Tim still on the S1 line he goes outside for free at 120. Simone makes a two skill roll to accelerate to 140 (modified 3) and takes Bridge racing line for free.

Chris follows through Bridge also at 140 and stays right beside the silver race car. Ken takes the Bridge line for free at 140 and finishes inside and behind Simone. William comes out of the three wide first at 160, sheds a wear in Bridge and finishes right beside Ken. Cody has inside advantage on Brad and moves 140 across Bridge racing line for free.

An RM plot for the leader moves him to 3rd place, S2 gets crowded

Next deadline: turn 6 due Friday, October 7 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC
(RM note: For those that don't know, there's a hurricane heading for Florida <shrug, big deal> so in case I disappear for a few days the above deadline will still be enforced and I'll get the turn out as soon as I can, which I expect to be Friday night as usual.)

Turn 4 summary:
Kal takes an RM plot which slows him to 100 around the outside of S2 and he stays outside. Tim goes 120 and sheds a wear on the S2 line and retakes the lead. Jeff takes the slip opportunity to cover the S2 line for free and moves into 2nd place inside of Kal. Simone plots 140 and gains the inside advantage on Chris. Then he late brakes to 120 with 2 skill (modified 6) and leaves one wear on the S2 racing line.

Chris holds steady at 140, costing him 3 wear total; one in S1 and two in S2. Ken plots 120 and uses his inside advantage and a slip to take the S1 line for free and loses one wear in the S2 100 space. William also plots 120 and looks for a slip but with no room settles for the S1 line for free and sets up on the S2 line. Cody stays safe around S1 at 120.

Brad tries to get a jump on Cody at 140 but with Cody still on the line is forced outside in S1 for one wear. Will uses all his acceleration to get to 140 and rounds Bridge on the racing line for free. Grant also maxes his acceleration and hits the Bridge 120 at 120 for free.

Our pole-sitter becomes the third different race leader as the front runners approach the Triangle for the first time.
(RM note: the hurricane was a bust in Orlando. I guess the coast is getting slammed but all we got was some wind and rain, not a heckuva lot more than we get with a normal summer storm.)

Next deadline: turn 7 due Monday, October 10 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 6 summary:
The top 3 approach the triangle at a cautious 140mph. Tim sets up on the racing line, Jeff takes the slip from Tim and dives inside taking the lead, Kal keeps his options open by finishing in the middle lane. Chris exits the Esses at 160 to take 4th place clean.

Simone out of the Esses at 140 grabs the wing of the silver car. Ken continues the S2 100s at 120 and keeps to the inside. William wears his tires on the S2 racing line and is forced to go around Ken. Cody takes the S2 line at 100 for free.

Brad claws his way up into 8th by dropping two wear on the S2 line. Will and Grant both take the S1 racing line at a safe 120.

The pack that was strung out is now bunched up at the entrance to the Triangle.

Next deadline: turn 8 due Wednesday, October 12 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 7 summary:

Jeff squeals around the outside of the Triangle leaving two wear behind. Tim slows to 80 shedding one wear on the racing line. Kal stays with the leaders around the outside for two wear. Chris also decides to drop two wear on the Triangle racing line.

Simone plots 100 and sets up on the racing line which will ultimately cost him two positions. William finishes just short of the corner on the inside moving into 5th. Ken gets a slip off William making it three wide at the entrance to the corner. Brad also looks for a slip but there's no room so he settles on the Triangle racing line behind Simone.

Cody plots 140 and gets a slip from Brad. He settles inside behind William. Will covers the S2 racing line at a safe 100. Grant makes up a space on Will losing one wear in S2 in the process.

Lap 1, sector 1 numbers. The top 5 have a bit of a gap on the rest of the field at the timing trap.

The leaders go three wide, most of the pack is now through the Triangle and heading for The 90.

Next deadline: turn 9 due Friday, October 14 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 8 summary:

Jeff and Tim drag race down the straight at 140 side-by-side. Kal gets a slip from Tim and joins them three wide. Chris finishes the Triangle racing line at 100 for already paid wear and moves inside.

Ken gets the jump on William and Simone at 100 and moves around the outside of the corner for 2w, choosing to block the racing line after exiting. Simone at 100 takes the same route but moves inside to take over the number 6 spot. William finally moves at 80 around the inside dropping 2 wear and sliding in between Chris and Simone to maintain 5th. Cody takes the Triangle's inside lane at 40 scrubbing off two wear and splitting Simone and Ken to gain a spot.

Brad slows to 80 losing one wear on the racing line making Ken's block ineffective. (It was a good idea, though) Will runs up to the Triangle at 160. Grant plots 100 and gets a slip from Will, finishing in the middle.

Four NPRs, I feel like I'm playing solitaire. Do we need to slow down?

Next deadline: turn 10 due Monday, October 17 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 9 summary:
Jeff gets the initiative on the lead trio and does 140 down the straightaway staying inside. Tim also does 140 and swings outside to catch the outer racing line through The 90. Kal is the first to take an RM plot RM note: that's two), slowing to 120 so he can safely hit The 90 next turn. Chris opens up his silver machine to 160 and gains a space on the leaders.

William tests his acceleration with a naked roll (8) to get to 160 and takes a slip from Chris to finish right beside him. Cody also makes a naked acceleration roll (4) and keeps pace at 160. Ken, also at 160, stays right beside Cody. Simone is the second RM plot accelerating 20 to 120 and moving outside.

Brad, also an RM plot, also picks up 20mph and remains outside. Will lets the Triangle racing line keep two wear points in trade for a 100mph move. Grant is the last NPR (RM note: that's two) and he maintains 100 into the Triangle outside lane.

The 90 bunches up the front 6.

Next deadline: turn 11 due Wednesday, October 19 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 10 summary:
Jeff attacks the inner line through The 90 at 100 using two wear. Tim also does 100 but only drops one wear around the outside line. Kal plots 120 but with both lines occupied uses the outer lane at the cost of one wear. Chris takes advantage of his inside position to run up to The 90 at 120 and grabs the outside line.

William does the same as Chris, finishing on the inside line. Cody plots 140 and sets up to follow through on the inside line. Ken is NPR so by rule he must slow to 100 and drops inside to leave the racing lines open. Simone maxes his top speed and starts the outside line of The 90.

Brad also maxes at 160 and makes up a space on Simone, staying inside. Will uses all the engine he has to attack the straightaway at 160. Grant decides to stay at 100 into the 60 space for one wear and a one skill chance roll (modified 9). His tires fail to grip and around he goes.

A relatively quiet turn as most of the field negotiates The 90 and the Hairpin.

Next deadline: turn 12 due Friday, October 21 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 11 summary:
Jeff enters the Hairpin at 100 dropping one wear in the middle lane. Tim maintains 100 and sets up on the inside entrance to the Hairpin. Kal finishes The 90 for already paid wear and grabs the wing of Tim's car. William sheds a wear on the inner racing line of The 90 and finishes inside.
