Everyone finishes lap 1, some in a more exciting fashion than others. Lap 2 field is set.

Next deadline: turn 15 due Wednesday, June 29 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 14 summary:
Doug finishes at 140 to keep from going into the corner. Rando makes a naked top speed roll (mod: 4) to 180 to finish 4th right beside Doug. Turyko did his best using his last skill point to get to 160 (mod: 9) barely passing but all for naught with Rando's roll. Tim plots a safe 120 and limps home in 6th, but hey, he's on the pole for lap 2.

RM Note: Doug has 5 skill because the 2 he had left were "change" from his 3-skill chip. For any skill use this lap (or if applicable, lap 3) the "lap" skill will be used first before the 2 remaining wild card skill points.

83.3% of the field pushed that start, and 100% of them passed!

Next deadline: turn 16 due Friday, July 1 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 15 summary:
Everyone but Mike pushed the start, everyone that pushed used 2 skill except Rando who went with 1, and everyone who pushed passed. Everyone moved inside and no positions changed.

I guess I could have dramatized that a bit more but I suspect (hope?) there will be plenty of opportunity for that this lap.

No positions change this turn.

Note: I only got one vote on the July 4th move and that was a yes. So since I had all the moves in tonight I adjudicated giving everyone an extra day. So we will have a turn due on the 4th.

Next deadline: turn 17 due Monday, July 4th at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 16 summary:
Tim tests his acceleration with his last skill point (modified 6) and carries the outside of First Curve for 2 wear. Turyko takes the inside lane for free at 140. Rando plots 140 and takes the slip from Tim moving outside in the corner.

Doug plots 140 and with no room to slip ducks inside behind Turyko. Giovanni does 140 and holds the inside at the approach of the corner. Mike plots 120 but stays with Giovanni courtesy of a slip from him.

The pack gets in line for the esses.

Next deadline: turn 18 due Wednesday, July 6 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 17 summary:
Tim finishes first curve for already paid wear and takes both lines through S1 for free. Turyko plots 140 and with Tim blocking the S1 line takes the First Curve 120s for a wear and follows him on the S1 line. Rando finishes First Curve on the outside for free and grabs Turyko's wing entering S1.

Doug and Giovanni both take the safe 100 around the inside of the bend and dive inside. Mike plots 120 but takes the outside for free lining up behind Giovanni.

Tim widens his lap lead. Mike takes over the points lead.

Next deadline: turn 19 due Friday, July 8 at 10pm EDT/2am (Sat) UTC
[Note the late deadline. I will be otherwise occupied Friday until about 10pm (Go Orlando City! That's soccer for those who don't know). And as always, if I get everything by Thursday night I can adjudicate then.]

Turn 18 summary:
Tim drops 2 wear through S2 and takes the short way through the Dunlop curve. Turyko takes the S2 120s for free but loses 2 spaces to the leader. Rando also stays safe at 100 through the S2 100 space and the inside of Dunlop.

Doug follows suit with 100 plot through the S1 120s and the S2 100 and finishes inside. Giovanni plots 120 but asks to not use any wear unless it gains him a spot. So he takes the 120s through both S1 and S2. Mike plots 120 with a slip and actually wanted the same route as Giovanni but with it blocked he goes inside through S2 for a wear and picks up a position and the current points lead.

The pack tightens back up. [Thanks for getting your moves in early. Now I can relax when I get home from the game tomorrow]

Next deadline: turn 20 due Monday, July 11 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 19 summary:
Tim slows to 100 to run Degner Curve at no cost. Turyko hits the 120 space behind Tim at 140 to scrub off a wear. Rando plots 140 to stay on the black car's wing.

Doug gets a slip from Rando and makes it two wide at the entrance to the corner. Mike plots 160 and grabs onto Rando's wing. Giovanni plotted 160 and looked for a slip but the wall of cars in front of him prevented that.

Doug takes third place. A local yellow is displayed at the entrance to Degner's Curve as the marshalls spot some debris apparently from Rando's bright green machine. Is it possible the two occurences are related somehow?

Next deadline: turn 21 due Wednesday, July 13 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 20 summary:
Tim uses his full acceleration off Degner's and sets up on the Hairpin racing line. Turyko does his best to follow but is limited by the corner. (No slip possible as Tim was still in the corner) Doug plots 160, enters the 120 space for 2 wear and then uses 2 skill to late brake to 140 and complete the corner on the line. He takes over 3rd place and pulls alongside Turyko.

Rando plots a safe 100 around Degner's on the inside/racing line. Mike gets the initiative on Giovanni by plotting 120 then using 1 skill to late brake to 100. He hits the 120 space and the racing line for free. Giovanni plots 100 but with Mike on the end of the line is forced around the outside of the corner and loses a space to him.

Another rubber burning turn as three drivers take the Hairpin line at 100 or better! An NPR for Rando drops him to the bottom of the standings.

Next deadline: turn 22 due Friday, July 15 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 21 summary:
Tim shoots around the Hairpin line at 100 burning 2 wear points. Turyko flies into the corner at 120 dropping 2 wear and his last skill point on the chance table (modified 3). Doug follows at 100 also scrubbing off 2 wear.

Rando is MIA (I hope everything is OK). By rule he slows to 80 to be able to reach a safe speed for the upcoming corner. Mike plots 140 and moves past Rando and onto the racing line. Giovanni also at 140 follows Mike and takes 5th place.

The front two get a big gap on the rest of the field. [Note: the tie-break logic for the points chart was incorrect. It has been fixed now.]

Next deadline: turn 23 due Monday, July 18th at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 22 summary:
Tim does 140 and sets up to enter the Spoon. Turyko runs it out to 160 to catch the rear of the leader. Doug is stuck at 100 to finish the Hairpin and that costs him a lot of ground.

Mike takes the Hairpin racing line at 80 and 1 wear, finishing inside. Giovanni drops 2 wear on the same line to pull even with Mike. Rando also takes the line at 100 scrubbing 2 wear off.

The points jostle as two positions change.

Next deadline: turn 24 due Wednesday, July 20 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 23 summary:
Tim saves what's left of his tires as he takes the outside of the Spoon Curve at 100. Turyko drops 2 wear on the inside at 120 to take over the lap lead and move into a tie for the points lead. Doug picks up a space by running the inside of the Spoon at 140 scrubbing off 2 wear.

Mike gets the initiative on Giovanni by testing his acceleration (1sp, modified 6) but plays it safe, using the long way around the bend and sets up in front of the Spoon. Giovanni also plots 160 but he takes the inside of the bend and hits the 120 space of the corner using 2 wear and picking up fourth place. Rando exit the Hairpin with all he has and ends up on Mike's tail.

Damnit, it's like I forgot how to run this track. Giovanni did it right, I did it wrong.

The leaders break away.

Next deadline: turn 25 due Friday, July 22 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 24 summary:
Turyko pushes his top speed to 180 with a naked roll (9) and gets a one space gap on Tim who goes 160 and gets away from third place Doug. Doug slows to 120 for his already paid wear and finishes the Spoon, staying inside.

Giovanni also has paid 2 wear for the outside of the Spoon so he slows to 140 and finishes behind Doug. Mike drops two wear on the inside of the corner to regrab the wing of Giovanni's machine. Rando uses a slip and 1 wear around the outside of the curve and completes the conga line.

The chase pack is back in a bunch. The final corner looms for the front two.

Next deadline: turn 26 due Monday, July 25 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 25 summary:
Turyko and Tim both take 130R on the inside at a safe 140. Doug maxes his engine to finish at the entrance to the corner.

Giovanni, Mike and Rando all plot 160 with a slipstream. Giovanni pulls even with Doug while Mike and Rando line up nose to tail behind the blue machine.

One position change as we approach Casio Triangle.

Next deadline: turn 27 due Thursday, July 28 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC
[Note: if I get all moves by Wednesday night I will adjudicate and we'll be back on track]

Turn 26 summary:
Turyko runs 100 entering Casio Triangle on the racing line for 1 wear. Tim closes up on him at 120 also grabbing the line. Doug plots 160 and takes the long way around 130R for free.

Giovanni also plots 160 but drops a wear in the 140s and slides in front of Doug to take 3rd place. Mike uses a skill to reach 180 then sheds a wear in the 130R 160s and pulls even with Doug. Rando uses the 130R 140s at 160 for a wear.

The second place car spins bottling up the Casio Triangle and shuffling the points.

Next deadline: turn 28 due Monday, August 1 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 27 summary:
Turyko slows to 80 to finish the triangle for already paid wear, keeping to the inside. Tim plots 100 and takes the racing line. In the first space he spends his last wear and in the second space makes a naked chance roll missing it by that much with a 7. Giovanni plots 100 and with the line blocked drops his last two wear points on the 60s.

Mike gets the initiative on Doug by plotting 120 and using his last skill to late brake to 100. He also is forced around the 60s shedding his final two wear. Doug plots 100 then late brakes to 80 for his last skill point. He also drops his last wear in the 60s. Rando wanted to blast through the final corner at 120 but with everything blocked up he spends a wear to brake to 100 and another in the 80s.
