The Redscape GP races will be accepting builds on June 1. Since there is no build or bid for this race we will start then and get a couple of turns ahead.

RROC turn 1 due Wednesday, June 1 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC.

I will send a notice a couple days in advance.

Also note that at any time during the race if I have all moves early I can usually process early. All deadlines will be hard deadlines.

The pack stays pretty tight through the first corner.

Next deadline: turn 3 due Monday, June 6 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 1 summary:
Giovanni blasts into corner 1 at 140 on the outside dropping 2 wear and moving back inside.Turyko moves 100 through the 80s for 1 wear and lines up behind Giovanni. Mike took the outside route at 120 for a wear using a slip to exit the corner.

Doug slides inside at 100 scrubbing 2 wear off. Tim pushes 140 through the outside of the corner spending 2 wear. Rando took the safe 100 and tucks into the rear of the pack.

RM note: the point chart at the top of the map automatically updates every turn. On this first lap the points are obvious but when we move to laps 2 and 3 you may find this helpful. So the points on the chart are "as they run."

Next deadline: turn 4 due Wednesday, June 8 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 3 summary:
Giovanni maintains his lead onto the corner 2 racing line. Turyko keeps his initiative by doing 140 but with the line blocked has to swing outside. Mike anticipates Turyko's move and stays at 120 setting up behind Giovanni on the line

Doug gets the initiative out of the first corner by plotting 160 but has to brake using 2 skill and temporarily picks up 3rd from Mike. Tim plots 160 but with the backup at the entrance to the corner has to use both feet on the brakes using 2 wear and more than a few NSFW words on his radio. Rando takes the safe route through the corner 1 80s at 80.

No positions change but the pack begins to break up.

Next deadline: turn 5 due Friday, June 10 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 4 summary:
Giovanni is the only car to use the racing line this turn, doing so at 100 for 2 wear. Turyko flies through the 60 spaces at 120 for 2 wear and a 3-skill chance roll (modified 5) to keep right up with Giovanni. Doug had already missed the chance for the line but he clears the corner through the 60s for a wear.

Mike also clears the corner but with Doug sitting on the racing line he has to use the 60s and the final 80 for 1 wear. Tim also was hoping for the racing line but, like Mike, had to use the 60s with Doug blocking the line. Rando gets right up to the corner and will have the line available next turn.

Good job getting all moves in! Giovanni takes the lead back

Next deadline: turn 6 due Friday, June 10 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 5 summary:
Giovanni gets the initiative with a 140 plot then late brakes to 120 using 2 skill (modified 3). He uses the racing line for 2 wear. Turyko plots 120 and is forced outside with Giovanni on the line.

Both Doug and Mike come off the second corner at 140, Doug starting and finishing inside Mike's red racer.

Tim finishes the corner at 80 for already paid wear. Rando moves through the corner at a safe 60 on the racing line.

More friendly dice. Racing is 2x2.

Next deadline: turn 7 due Monday, June 13 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 6 summary:
Giovanni and Turyko come out of corner 3 and into corner 4 both at 120 lining up nose to tail. Mike gets the initiative on Doug by using a wear at 100 on the corner 3 racing line and sets up for the corner 4 line.

Doug takes the corner 3 line at a safe 80. Tim runs into the corner at 120 using a wear and a chance roll (modified 2). Rando tests his acceleration (modified 6) and sets up right behind Tim.

Next deadline: turn 8 due Wednesday, June 15 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 7 summary:
Giovanni and Turyko remain nose to tail as both finish corner 4 and take the inside of corner 5. Mike keeps pace with them at 120 as does Doug, both using the corner 4 racing line. Rando finally uses a wear through corner 3 and sets up on the racing line for the next corner.

The top five cars nose to tail as they prepare to run the backstretch. Rando lurks not far behind.

Next deadline: turn 9 due Friday, June 17 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 8 summary:
Giovanni and Turyko each run into corner 6 at 120 for free but Giovanni can accelerate off next turn. Mike runs the corner 5 line at 140 for free and sets up on the corner 6 racing line.

Doug follows Mike through corner 5 at 140 and also sets up on the next line. Tim comes off corner 4, takes corner 5 for free on the line and sets up for the slip behind Doug. Rando clears both corner 4 and 5 and is still within hunting distance of Tim.

Giovanni takes a commanding lead while a fight brews for second place.

Next deadline: turn 10 due Monday, June 20 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 9 summary:
Giovanni pushes his speed to 180 with a naked top test roll of 5. Turyko (legally) accelerates to 140 but loses 2 spaces to the leader. Mike scrubs off 2 wear at 160 to challenge Turyko for second place.

Doug slows to a safe 120 for the corner but gets a slip to stay within 2 spaces of the pair ahead. Tim does the same as Doug and stays on his rear wing. Rando sheds a wear in the corner at 140 in order to clear it and be able to accelerate next turn.

Battles for second and fourth shaping up. Good job getting turns in today!

Next deadline: turn 11 due Monday, June 20 at 6:00 EDT/10:00 UTC

Turn 10 summary:
Giovanni maintains his 180 speed with a naked roll of 4. Mike gets the initiative and second place by making a 1 skill roll (mod 4) to do 180 also. Turyko maxes out at 160 and lines up directly behind the red racer.

Doug does 160 and stays on the inside. Tim follows at 160 and uses a slip to get up next to Doug's machine. Rando cashes in his 3-skill chip and uses 2 skill to reach 180 (mod 2) and close the gap a bit.

The pack tightens into the final combination.

Next deadline: turn 12 due Wednesday, June 22 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 11 summary:
Giovanni tests his brakes and gets down to 100 entering corner 7 on the outside. Mike closes the gap at 140 and sets up on the racing line. Turyko takes the slip off Mike and ducks inside his red racer to take back 2nd place.

Doug tests his top speed and uses all that muscle to catch the wing of Mike's car on the line. Tim plays the safe 160 and stays inside. Rando uses his final skill for this lap to go 180 and close in another space on Tim and the pack.

Exciting turn setting up what promises to be an exciting finish!

Next deadline: turn 13 due Friday, June 24 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 12 summary:
Giovanni slows to 80 to finish corner 7 and takes the corner 8 line for free. He's now clear to go for the finish line. Mike gets the jump on Turyko with a 100 plot and using the line in corner 7 for 1 wear and the 80s in corner 8 for a wear pulls alongside Giovanni. He is also clear to head for the finish line and may just pull off a last corner pass! Turyko wanted to clear corner 8 but with both lanes blocked has to take the corner 7 60 space for a wear and into the corner 8 80s for free.

Doug plots 120 and is willing to force his way to the front but with three cars ahead of him there's no way he can do it. So he brakes with a wear, uses another in the corner 7 80s and his final 2 in the corner 8 60. That sets up a shoot-out with Turyko for 3rd. Tim tries to stay with the pack plotting 100. He passes a 2 skill roll for the corner 7 racing line but his 1 skill roll for the corner 8 80 space misses by 1 lousy point and he spins!! (RM note: From the "If only we had known" department, if Tim had reversed his skill usage he would have passed both rolls!) Rando runs through the corner 7 line at 120 dropping half of his remaining wear and with 2 wear left and Tim having to plot 60 next turn virtually assures himself 5th place.

A crowd pleasing finish for the lead. And still more excitement to come.

Next deadline: turn 14 due Monday, June 27 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 13 summary:
Mike pulls out all the stops testing acceleration (mod 3) and top speed (mod 1) passing both tests and taking first on lap 1. As it turns out though Giovanni, out of skill, opts for the safe 140 making Mike's move a bit of an overkill. On the bright side though, that move gives Mike the chance to start shotgun on the field on lap 2. Doug comes around the final corner at 120 for already paid wear and is virtually assured 3rd place.

Turyko plotted 100 but he entered the corner at 80 and 0 wear so the best he can do is maintain the 80. He does so through the 60 for his final wear point. Tim recovers from his spin and hangs on the inside of the track. Rando drops his last two wear points to run the 80s at 120 and pull even with Turyko.

[RM note: Since everyone should finish lap one on turn 14 the map on Monday will be the starting grid for Suzuka. We will just continue from there with turn 15 being the first move of lap 2.]

That was fun. I think I like this track a lot better with only six cars. Those last two corners can be devastating in traffic. I got through unscathed and was able to sprint to the line. Woot!

Back of the field for me in lap 2...
