100 years ago tomorrow, supported by over 100,000 di-phosgene gas shells, Germans made their furthest advance during the Verdun offensive. Di-phosgene is a nasty version of phosgene that rendered the charcoal filters in gas masks ineffective. The gas causes lungs to secrete fluids and death by suffocation. We had one retreat, from Italy. Tyrolia could only retreat to Piedmont (or OTB) and since Italy has a disband coming I went ahead and retreated it to Piedmont.
