Speeds up slightly over sector 3 last lap. Well, most of them anyway.

Unfriendly dice for Dave while Tim B. continues to bottle up the big pack.

Turn 33 Summary
William runs the inside Pennsy line for free at 100. Dave plots 120 then taps the brakes to 100 on the tables (naked 10) to take the 22nd St. and Pennsy lines for free. A wear and some permanent brake damage result. Jeff clips a tire in the 22nd St. line at 120 followed by a free ride through the outer Pennsy line.

Kevin burns a wear in the 22nd St. line at 120. Claudio, at 120 plus the bonus, drops a tire in the 22nd St. 100's. Tony stays on the exhaust of the #18 at 120 and the slip.

Tim B. clutters the Library 80 at 80, blocking the track behind. Rando, at 100, is pushed into the Library 100's. Giuseppe grabs the Library line at 80. Will slots in next to the #94 at 100.

Joe continues at 100 but has to hit the brakes with 2sp (modified 1) with a wall of cars in front. John, also at 100, finds space next to the #5. At 100, Tim can't find room and brakes down to 80 for a wear.

Chris knocks off a tire at 100 through the Logan 80's. Jim brakes down to 100 from 120 on the tables (naked 4) and follows the #38 through the 80's for a wear.

Balls! 10' in diameter (3m for you non-Americans). Perfectly smooth globes of depleted uranium. Fired from my deep space rail gun at hapless cars on the racetrack. (No this is not a personal attack, merely a generic one. It's good to have a heavily-armed personal space station.)

John makes a bold move and picks up four spots. No joke!

Turn 34 Summary
William, Dave, and Jeff all run the backstretch at 140. Kevin takes the inside Pennsy line for free at 100. Claudio continues 22nd St. at 120 followed by the Pennsy line for a wear. Tony takes both the 22nd St. and Pennsy lines for free at 100.

Turn 35 Summary
William, in an attempt to stay in first, tosses his last wear and rolls on the chance table at 100 on the Hairpin line (naked 7). He spins! Dave takes the line at 140. Jeff, also at 140, cuts to the inside for 2nd.

Claudio, with the initiative, hits the long straight at 160. Kevin tucks in behind the #18 at 140. Tony pulls alongside the #50 at 140 and the bonus. Tim B. takes the 22nd St. and Pennsy lines for free at 100.

You Win some, and you lose some. I could feel the car going away and I had to stay on the gas in-order to stay out front, just didn't have enough tread on them tires to keep control.

After 30+ turns in the lead, the spin forces William to give way to a new race leader.

Turn 36 Summary
William comes out of the gravel at 40. Dave gets the initiative at 120 then brakes down to 100 on the tables (naked 6). He takes the Annex line for his last 2 wear and passes the #8 to take the lead! Jeff, at 100, clips 2 tires in the Hairpin 60's and pulls alongside the red Chevy.

Claudio tests his brakes as he drops speed to 100 (naked 8) before grabbing the line. Kevin, at 100, pulls into the Annex groove. Tony, denied the line, grabs an inside lane at 100. Tim B. drops the hammer and flies along the straight-away at 180.

John races out of 22nd St. at 140 and takes the outside Pennsy line for a wear. He opts for an outside lane. Giuseppe runs the Pennsy on the outer line at 120. Rando finishes 22nd St. at 120 then takes the outer Pennsy groove for free.

Joe gets the initiative at 120, burns a wear in the 22nd St. line, drops another on the inner Pennsy, and finally squeezes between some cars to get behind the big engine in the #28. Will takes the 22nd St. 100's for free at 100 then hits the Pennsy Corner on the outer line (?).

Tim C., at 100, runs the 22nd St. and inner Pennsy lines for free. Chris burns off some speed in the 22nd St. 100's before grabbing the inner Pennsy at 100. Jim takes the 22nd St. groove for free at 100.

Thanks for your patience. Working on some lost email problems...

On to the race - did Dave just win this thing?!

Turn 37 Summary
Dave runs the Kelly 100 and the Eakins line for free at 80. At 100, William burns off some speed in the Kelly's 120's before grabbing the Eakin's line. Jeff takes the Kelly 100 for free and knocks off his last tire in the Eakins' 80's.

Claudio clips a tire in the Annex line at 80. Kevin gets the initiative at 120 and takes the Annex line for his last 2 wear and a roll on the chance table with his big chip (modified 3). He skillfully navigates the corner before jumping into Kelly's on the line. Tony drops to 60 and runs the Hairpin on the 60's for free.

Tiim B. pulls up to the Hairpin on the line at 120. John drops the hammer at 180 on the stretch. Giuseppe gives it all he's got at 160. Joe takes advantage of the big engine in front of him and pulls alongside at 160 plus the double bonus. Rando comes alongside the #94 at 160 plus the slip.

Tim C. races out of Pennsy at 160. Will stays on the outer Pennsy line at 120. Jim gets the initiative at 160, takes the outer Pennsy for 2 wear, and passes the #6. Chris runs the inner Pennsy for free at 100 before tucking in behind the Valvoline Ford.

Turn 38 Summary
Dave pulls out of Eakins at 140 and gabs the Park line. Jeff finishes Eakins at 100. At 80, William eases through Eakins on the groove before tucking in behind the #12.

Kevin runs Eakins on the line at 80. Claudio, at 100, intended to take the line in Eakins for his last wear. With the #50 in the way, he bailed on the line and rolled on the chance table (naked 5). Tony takes Kelly's on the line at 120 for free.

Tim B. clips 2 tires on the Annex line at 100. John starts at 120 then taps down to 100 with 2 skill (modified 8). He burns 2 wear on the Annex line. Joe brakes down from his plotted 100 to 80 with 2 skill (modified 5) and drops a wear on the line.

Rando gets the initiative at 120 then uses a tire as he brakes to 100 and grabs the line. Giuseppe takes an inside track to the Hairpin at 100. Tim C. pulls up on the line at 120. Jim readies for the Hairpin at 140.

Will, at 140 plus the bonus, runs to the outside of the #99. Chris takes the straight at 160.

Note: The chart should show Joe marked down to 80 and indicate a wear was taken (the wear total is correct, however).

Tim C's accident caused some havoc in the back of the field but everyone came through unscathed. Whew!

NPR from Claudio. Technically, he should be outside but the RM plot does not allow for racing lines (I put him inside to make that clear).

Turn 39 Summary
Dave runs Park in the groove at 140 for free. Jeff and William do the same with the #8 rolling to get to 140 (naked 7). The slip has them rubbing paint with some dice rolls to come for second place.

Kevin takes the Park line for free at 140. There is no sign of Claudio's plot in my email so he takes an RM plot. The #17 pulls in front of the Bend at 120 with no line next turn.

Tony clips his last 2 tires on the Eakins line at 120. Tim B. drops his last wear on the Eakins line at 100. John, at 100, runs the Kelly's 100 and pulls up to Eakins on the line. Joe takes the Kelly's line for free at 120 and ducks to the inside of the #28.

Rando gets the initiative at 80 and burns a wear on the Annex line. Giuseppe drops to 60 and runs to the outside for free. Tim C. runs into the Hairpin at 120 and with insufficient wear puts his car into the wall. The 3 cars that pass the wreckage must roll on the chance table with a -2 modifier.

With the line blocked, Jim takes the Hairpin 60's for 2 wear (chance = mod. 4). Will plots 100 but with no place to go taps down to 80 (naked 7) and runs the Annex 60's for a wear (chance = mod. 4). Chris exceeds his brakes at 100 and rolls on the tables (naked 3). A blocked track forces more braking for a wear after which he runs the Hairpin line for an additional wear (chance = mod. 0).
