A corner too far...

Turn 44 Summary
Chris takes the Esplanade line for free at 60. Brad starts at 80, brakes down to 60 on the tables (naked 3) then plunges into the Esplanade 40 for a ride on the chance train (naked 8). He spins!* Kal skirts the spinning flag car at 60 in the Esplanade 60's for free.

Tim B. rolls up to Esplanade on the line at 80. Rando, at 120, pulls to the inside of the #21 car to grab 4th place. Fabio pushes his engine to 100 (naked 4). John takes the outside lane and sits on the numbers of the #17.

Mike finishes the Fullerton line at 60 for free. Todd takes the groove in Fullerton for free at 60. An RM plot leaves Will even further behind at 60.

* Per the rules, Brad will move after Kal regardless of plotted speed.

Turn 45 Deadline: Monday, May 2nd @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)

I may be able to adjudicate tomorrow morning if I have all the plots. Otherwise, I'm off grid until Monday.

Two more spun cars! You guys are racing like it's the last lap of the last race of a GP. Oh...

Turn 45 Summary
Chris takes the Raffles line at 60 for free. Kal hits the Raffles line at 80 with a roll on the chance table (naked 9). Spinout! Brad grabs the Raffles line at 60 and drives with renewed hope.

Rando runs the Esplanade 60's at 80 for a wear. Tim B. takes the Esplanade line for free at 60.

Fabio plots 100 then cuts it down to 80 (naked 7) before running the Esplanade line. He grabs the dice cup with his last sp (modified 7) and puts his car in the gravel. John, at 80, is forced to the Esplanade 60's and tosses off his last tire.

Mike grabs the Esplanade line at 120. Todd pulls out of Fullerton at 120. Will clips his last tire at 80 on the Singapore line.

Turn 46 Deadline: Wednesday, May 4th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)

The excitement is crazy! Questions:
Can Chris hold off the big car of Rando?
Can Rando force his way through the clogged track?
What will Kal do to hold off the faster cars?
Will Tim B move up to knock Mike off the top perch at the podium?

Enquiring minds?

I think I need to beat Kal to stay in F1 (winning the race might also get the job done).

The way I calculate it (and let me know if I am incorrect)
Chris wins, Rando or Kal second, Brad third (Chris/Rando or Kal advance)
Chris second, Rando or Kal 1st, Brad third (Rando/Kal and Brad advance)
Brad finishes second (Brad advances)
Rando and Kal 1st and 2nd, Brad 3rd (Rando and Kal advance)

This is also my assessment. I took the chance because I did not believe I could hold off both Brad and Rando without it, and I need to beat both to stay in C1, barring a meltdown by Chris.

Rando: "Harry, you told me nobody passes on the outside in turn four!"

Rando takes off a little paint as he barely gets past Kal on the outside! The #18 is shooting for the win.

Turn 46 Summary
Chris pulls into the Gallery on the 60's at 60. Kal comes out of his spin at 20 and blocks the line. Brad takes the outside Raffles for free at 60.

Rando runs the Raffles 40 at 80 for 2 tires then forces a pass on the #3 with 2sp (modified 8). Tim B. takes Raffles in the 60's at 60. Fabio comes out of his spin at 40. John passes the #17 at 80 and grabs the next line.

Mike takes the Esplanade line at 60. Todd pulls up to Esplanade on the line at 60. Will plots 60 with no corner designation - default is the 60's.*

*I realize Will's race is over so I'm not trying to admonish him here. I'm letting this serve as a reminder that complete plots are expected in league play.

Turn 47 Deadline: Friday, May 6th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)

Well, well, well. After last turn the relegation watch is as follows:
Kal must finish 1st or 2nd or be relegated
Chris moves on with a win, or second place if Kal gets third
Rando moves on with a win or 2nd place
Brad moves on with a 3rd place finish, and a 2nd place finish by Chris

Still a murky picture...

The tension mounts! I see the dice cup coming back out in the next few turns...

Turn 47 Summary
Chris finishes the Gallery at 60. Rando drops his last 2 tires at 100 in the Gallery 60's. He pulls up next to the #20 for a race to the finish line.

Brad plots 80 then brakes down to 60 (naked 8) before entering the Gallery 60's for free. Kal plays it safe at 40, pulling to the inside of the #50 in the Gallery. Tim B. tucks in behind the flag car at 60 for free.

John takes the Raffles line for free at 60. Fabio follows the groove of the #28, also at 60. Mike continues the procession through Raffles on the line at 60. Todd takes an RM plot, using the Esplanade 60's for free at 60. Will finishes Fullerton at 60.

No tension. If this were air combat, we would all know that my plane is hugely advantaged by its much higher speed. Chris is "low energy". Plus, I have a big skill advantage (in chips, anyway, we all know that Chris is fully skilled at this game).
