$1 movie day with the kids... what can I say?

Chris, when will we get results from the WBC's?

Turn 35 Summary
Fabio slows before Konya at 140. Mike pushes top speed at 180 (naked 5) to keep the blue car at bay. Tim B. drops the hammer as well, requiring sequential rolls for Acc (naked 7) and Top (naked 7). He keeps pace at 180. Cody takes the Gaziantep line for free at 120. John does the same and pulls alongside the #38 car with the bonus space. Rando drops 2 wear on the Gaziantep line at 160. Will uses an RM plot at 140, taking the Adana 140's for free and ending on the outside. At 140, Tim C. uses the Adana line for free and tucks inside of the distracted #6 car. Brad also plots 140, taking the Adana line for free. However, with no place to go, he must hit the brakes (naked 8) and drops to 120. Chris finishes Bursa at 140, takes the Adana line for free, and pulls to the inside of the flag car. Todd takes the Bursa line at 140 opting for the chance table with 1sp (modified 5). Kal brings up the rear on the Bursa line at 120.

Turn 36 Deadline: Friday, August 14th @ 9 a.m. EDT (1 p.m. GMT)

Hmmm... chart came out too small (had to use PS Express today). Ah well...

Will, was the RM plot intentional? Inquiring minds want to know. That cost me two spaces...

Shudda tried the pass - you'd be in 7th instead of 10th.

Yeah, I know. Hindsight is 20/20.

Cody said the same thing... I would punch you too, if you were on this coast...

Several cars will be over the finish line by the end of next week and all cars done in 2 weeks. I anticipate a fairly quick turn-around for Suzuka. A smooth transition could mean wrapping up race 2 by the holidays and a perfectly timed break for the RM. Stay tuned for race 2 announcements and schedule but please no car builds until asked for; mine must be locked in first.

Turn 36 Summary
Fabio still has a wear left after shedding one on the Konya line at 100. Mike slows to 140 as he prepares for Konya. Tim B. catches the red car's bumper at 160. John pushes his engine to a speedy 200 on the straight (naked 9). Cody plods along at 120. Rando drops the hammer and hits 180, applying 1sp to the top speed table (modified 6). Tim C. races along the Gaziantep line for free at 120. Will takes the Gaziantep 120's for free at 120, ending on the inside lane. At 120, Chris foregoes the line in Gaziantep to sit on the tailpipe of the #6 car. With the line vacant, Brad takes it for free at 120. Todd pulls up to Gaziantep on the line at 120. Kal uses the Adana line for free at 140 and grabs the bumper on the #84 car.

A little chaos this morning but better late then never.

Turn 37 Summary
Fabio drops his last wear at 100 in the Antalya 80's. He wins next turn unless he misplots! Mike takes the Konya line for free at 80. At 100, Tim B. sheds his last wear in the Konya 80's. Cody pushes his engine one more time (naked 6) at 140. Rando rolls the dice on his engine as well (naked 9) to remain at 180 and passes the M&M's car. Tim C. is driving uber-careful at 140 - his weak brakes may have something to do with that. Will drops the hammer at 180 to pass the Dupont car. Brad hits his top speed of 160 and pulls alongside the #24. Chris plots 160 and with the double bonus from Will is able to pass two cars. Todd uses his 3sp chit on the chance table as he takes the Gaziantep line at 140 (modified 7). He SPINS in the corner, denying the line for Kal. At 120, Kal cruises around the spinning 84 car in the 120's for free plus the bonus.

Holy cow, never did I expect that to work out for me. I was certain those slips were going to go to waste as everyone lined up across the row to block me.

It will only take two crashes in front for you to limp into a GP point, Todd. Here that gang? For the love of all that is good & just (like eating gravel in Gaziantep), roll dem bones!

Fabio takes the checkered flag! Congrats on a well run race to our Italian friend.

Turn 38 Summary
Fabio plots 140 and crosses the finish line first. Mike takes the Antalya 80's for free at 80 and ends on the line to block. Denied the line, Tim B. takes the 80's for free and sits on the bumper of the #25 car. John uses the Konya 60 for a wear followed by the Antalya line for free at 80. Rando sheds 2 more wear at 120 on the Konya line. Will keeps his inside position at 160. Chris stays on the side panel of the #6, also at 160. Brad has the initiative at 160 and makes it three wide going into Konya with the slip. Tim C. eases down to 120 and slip notwithstanding loses contact with his chase group. Kal tests his engine at 180 with 1sp (modified 7) to make up some ground. Todd restarts from his spin at 60.

Two more cars cross the finish line. Lots of dice this turn with more to come on Monday.

Turn 39 Summary
Mike plots 140 to come in 2nd place. At 140 plus the slip (naked 8 on the Acc table)*, Tim B. is a close third. John finishes the Antalya line at 80. Rando drops his last two wear in the Antalya 80's and pulls alongside the #28. Cody takes the Konya line at 80 then takes a chance (modified 8) on the Antalya 60's for a SPIN! Chris gets the initiative at 120 and sheds two wear on the Konya line. At 100, Will rolls on the chance table (naked 4) to enter Konya on the line. Brad starts at 100 but throttles back to 80 with a roll on the brake table (naked 6). He sits on the Konya RL. Tim C. grabs the bumper of the #50 car at 100. Kal wraps up the conga line at 160. Todd keeps on at 120, hoping for some carnage up front.

* I almost forgot this roll so it's not on the chart. I'm not redoing the chart.

The RANDO PERFECT analysis: He he magic !!! :-)
ANYWAY the race was NOT o easy as Rando said ! Many drivers use to roll dice and this can bring some others (like me) to loose ground and so the race.

a lap and half ago, Rando was deep in last place but full of wear, he shared some thoughts which he said should be published later. The analisys was perfect and now I post it here:

"Our race is halfway complete (at least for me). Some folks are 60% complete (Fabio!)

Here are my current thoughts:

1. Fabio has this race won, hands down. It's a runaway. Well done, Fab.
2. Cody has a better car than Tim B. , except he lacks top speed. Very interesting. I rate them tied. I will enjoy that horse-race.
4. Mike is clear 4th. Can't catch anyone absent a screw-up.
5. Todd can't catch Mike. However ...
6. Tim C on paper owns Todd. However, his car is an outlier. 20 decel??? REALLY??? That's a disaster waiting to happen. So no prediction even though Tim C has 10 wear only 3 spaces behind Todd with 3 wear.
7. Brad looks to have an interesting fight with Tim C. More car, less wear at the moment.
8. Kal. Toast. With a good car but only 3 wear, Kal is destined to be passed many times. I figure he will finish 10th or so, perhaps last.
9. John, with the 180. The big stick. He might get to only go 180 2 or 3 more times this race. Every time he does, folks will notice (and dream of slips).
10 ME RANDO. I think I will pass John, Kal, Brad, Tim C and Todd, to finish 4th.
11 Will . Powerful car. Should probably pass John and Kal.
12 Chris L. Got himself hosed. Sitting abjectly in 12th, will move up 2 -3 places or more if folks crash."

Hey, that's pretty good from the halfway point, Randy!

I'll be setting up a forum for post-race analysis shortly. Both Tim B. and I are working on one now. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on their own race.

Like dwarves to Bag End, in they come two by two...

Turn 40 Summary
John pushes his Acc to fend off the surge from the #18 at 180 (naked 7), edging out the green car for 4th place. With nothing to lose, Rando red lines the engine at 180 to no avail (naked 11). He ends up in 5th on the #28 bumper. Cody re-starts at 60 and blocks the line for those behind. Chris sheds his final wear at 100 on the 80, tucking inside of the #38 car. Will takes the Antalya 80's for free at 80. Brad takes the Konya line for free at 80 followed by a roll on the chance table in the Antalya 60's (naked 7). The #50 car spins! At 100, Tim C. drops a wear in the Konya line and another in the Antalya 80's. Kal burns his last wear on the Konya line at 100 followed by the chance table in the Antalya 80's (modified 9). His last 2sp saved him from a crash but not the spin. Todd races along at a dejected 160.
