And we're off! Important Note: The Virage Senna corner is a single corner with changing speed limits. If you pay wear to go over the speed limit, you pay for the whole corner. Steve paid 2w to go +40 through the 60 spaces, so he will not need to pay again next turn to finish the corner. Remember: you're paying for the amount above the speed limit, not a certain speed.

Next Deadline: Turn 2 Deadline is Monday, February 9 at 8am EDT/1pm UTC.

Turn 1 Summary:
Steve spends 2 wear to take the inside through the slower part of the corner at 100. Rando uses 2 skill to push his start speed to 40 (modified 6) and moves to the inside. Turyko races past Rando at 100 and starts the corner for free. Meng starts out at 60 and pulls up alongside Rando before the corner. Will goes 100 and is forced to go around Meng and Rando before cutting into the center lane to start the corner. Josh also plots 100 and pulls up next to Will on the outside.

John pushes his start speed to 80 using 2 skill (modified 6) and lines up behind Rando. Jim also pushes his start speed to 80, but uses a shiny 3-skill chip instead (modified 1), and pulls up next to John, behind Meng. Chris starts at 60 and stays inside. Marshall plots 20 and moves to the center lane. Giovanni goes 60 to pass Marshall and lines up behind Chris. Dave also goes 60 to pass Marshall, and pulls up next to Giovanni in the center lane.

Lots of wear being used in the first corner and already some excitement in the back!

Next Deadline: Turn 3 Plots due Thursday, February 12 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 2 Summary:
Steve continues at 100 for free (since he already paid for the corner). Turyko takes the 80s at 100 for wear. Will follows Turyko through the 80s at 100 (1w), and lines up behind him. Josh seizes the initiative and takes the 60s at 100 (2w) to pull up next to Turyko. Rando accelerates to 100 through the 60s (2w) and pulls up behind Josh, outside of Will. Meng chooses to be different and continues at 60 to the first 60 space for free.

John accelerates to 100 and takes the 80s to nudge past Meng. Jim maintains at 80 and pulls up behind John in the 80s for free. Chris accelerates to 120 and takes the outside (1w) due to the backup in the 80s. Giovanni accelerates to 100 and lines up on the inside to start the corner. Dave follows suit, and pulls up next to Giovanni in the middle. Marshall plots 100 and uses 2s to push his Acceleration but rolls a Modified 10! Engine Damage! He's forced to replot at 80 instead, and takes a 20MPH penalty to Acceleration for the remainder of the race.

EDITS: I mixed up Jim's Plot. Jim pulls to the outside, which allows Chris's first-choice plot to finish where Jim was previously. Chris's revision leads to him paying 2w instead of 1. Giovanni still receives the slipstream bonus, but ends behind Jim instead of Chris.

Update: I missed Giovanni's slipstream of Chris. That changes the order slightly, Chris-Giovanni-Dave all in a line on the corner. Map updated above.

Update: I misread Jim's plot, which results in he and Chris switching places. Updated on the map above.

Some shuffling of the order and a BIG move by Rando this turn. Also, I'm trying out something else Doug does on the map. You'll see a bunch of smaller cars along the outside of the track. This notes where your car started Turn 3, for my reference and yours. Where there are 3 lanes, I'll note the middle lane a little wider outside of the track than the lane next to it (See the placeholders for Chris and Marshall).

Also - I am going to start using Doug's Dice Cup instead of the PBE Roller that I have been using because Doug's cup shows the actual die rolls (which, had Josh ordered a block, would have been necessary and would have resulted in a wear penalty).

Next Deadline: Turn 4 Plots due Tuesday, February 17 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 3 Summary
Steve continues at 100 through the 100 lane of corner 3 and grabs the corner 4 Racing Line for 1w. Turyko also plots 100 for free through both corner 2 and 3 and grabs the RL for the next one. Josh goes 100 again, but opts for the 120s in the first corner and 100 in the second, so the RL is open next turn. Will plots 120 through the 120s in both corners, ending in the first 120 space of Corner 3.

Rando goes 120 through the 100 in corner 2 and attempts a forced pass (2s applied) on Josh through the 100 space in Corner 3. He roles a modified 7 (6+3-2). Josh did not specify a block so the pass attempt is successful and he pulls up along side Turyko. Total wear spend is 2 for going 120 through the 100s in both corners.

John continues finishes Virage Senna at 100 for free and takes the 100 space for free in corner 2. Meng continues at 60 and pulls up before corner 2. Chris plots 120 and takes the 100 space for 1w, finishing next to John. Jim plots 100 for free to finish the corner and pulls up to the outside of Meng. Giovanni drops to 80 through the 80s and finished behind Meng. Dave plots 100 through the 80s for a wear and ends outside of Giovanni. Marshall goes 120 through the 100s (1w).

Apologies on the delay, folks. Winter weather here in DC led to me making an unexpected and slippery trip to BWI airport after my folks' flight was cancelled last night - while I would normally be processing the turn. Anyway, we're back on track.

A few changes in order but otherwise, remarkable only because Meng finds the accelerator and Chris finds the brake pedal. Rando plots an slower-than-expected turn but it only leads to a few diversions.

Next Deadline: Friday, February 20 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 4 Summary:
Steve increases to 120 along the RL to complete the corner (limit increases, he's already paid for +20). Turyko finishes the RL at 100. Rando plots 80 through the 80s for free! Josh plots 120, not expecting Rando decelerate and takes the 80s and 100s through the corner for 2 wear. Will follows at 120 (2w) and pulls up behind Josh. John continues at 100, taking the first corner he comes to for free and grabs the RL of the next for a wear.

Chris decides to tap the brakes for the first time, going 100 through the 100s and starts the next corner in the 80s for a wear. Conversely, Meng jams the accelerator, using a skill to roll a modified 6 (5+2-1) and goes 140 through the 120s of the next two corners for a wear a piece, and grabs the start of the RL. Jim also goes 140, through the 120s for a wear in corner 2 and the 100 for 2 wear in corner 3, lining up behind John. Giovanni goes 100 for free in corner 2 and finishes in corner 3. Dave follows at 100 through the 100 in corner 2 and is forced into the 120s in corner 3. Marshall exits Virage Senna at 100 and takes corner 2 for free through the 100s.

Why do you think was I slower-than-expected?

So far, you're the only one who hasn't spent wear on this corner. :)

Some movement in the back as Meng consults the chance table!

Next Deadline: Turn 6 due Monday, February 23 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 5 Summary
Steve continues at 120, grabbing the RL and taking it through the corner for 1 wear. Turyko follows, also going 120 and grabbing the line. Rando uses his beefy acceleration stat to jump out at 140 and takes the RL to just before the speed limit kicks in. Josh continues at 120 and grabs the line behind Rando. Will continues at 120 to finish the corner and grabs the inside lane. [A note: last turn I noted a 2w spend by Will for the corner he just finished but did not deduct it from his wear total. That has been corrected.] John increases his speed to 120 for free (as he paid for +20 in the prior turn, and pulls up behind Josh.

Chris finishes the corner through the 80s and takes the inside lane. Jim slows to 100 and takes the 80s for a wear, lining up behind Chris. Meng bets big and takes the racing line at 140 for 2w and uses 2s on the chance table, he rolls a modified 3 (3+2-2) and squeezes to the inside between Will and Chris. Everybody conga! Dave jumps ahead of Giovanni by exiting the corner at 100, and takes the RL through the next corner for a wear. Giovanni follows at 80 on the RL for free. Marshall continues to close the gap and plots 100 through the first corner and the RL for a wear in the next.

Sorry for the delay, drivers, but this turn was a doozy. We say thanks to Meng for playing, I hope you'll stick around and consider driving in Season 2 of the Redscape Grand Prix.

Next Deadline: Turn 7 due Wednesday, February 25 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 6 Summary
Steve plots 140 and approaches the next corner from the inside. Turyko finishes the corner on the RL at 120 and moves inside. Rando takes the RL at 100 for free and moves into the middle. Josh takes the RL at 120 for a wear and pulls up alongside Rando. John gets the initiative on Will by plotting 120 for a wear on the RL. He initially indicated a slip but if taken he'd run into Josh. Will goes 100 on the RL for free.

Meng continues at 140, grabbing the line and spends a wear and a skill chip to take a roll on the chance table for +40. He rolls a modified 10 (5+6-1) which results in a CRASH! Chris takes the slip from Meng and plots 100 on the RL; he rolls a modified 3 (3+2-2) on the chance table and avoids the crash himself. Jim grabs the RL at 100 just before the corner. Dave accelerates to 120 and, with the RL blocked, takes the inside next to Jim. Giovanni finishes the RL at 120 and starts the next behind Jim. Marshall finishes the corner at 100.

Mater makes his first appearance in Montreal. Steve knocks out the Epingle corner with no issues as everyone else makes their cautious(?) approach to the hairpin.

Next Deadline: Turn 8 due Friday, February 27 at 8am EST/1pm UTC.

Turn 7 Summary
Steve drops to 120 and takes the outer RL for 2 wear. Turyko throttles up to 140 and grabs the outer RL ahead of the corner. Rando puts the pedal to the floor and goes 160 to pull up behind Turyko on the outer RL. Josh plots 140 and opts for the inside approach to the corner. John plots 160 and grabs the inner RL, pulling up outside of Josh. Will maxes his acceleration and goes 160 to pull up behind Josh.

Chris plots 160 also, pulling up behind Will [no slip plotted]. Jim finishes the RL for free at 100 and then heads for the center lane. Dave plots 80 through the 80s for free and lines up behind Jim. Giovanni plots 120 on the RL for a wear and pulls up outside of Jim. Marshall takes the RL for free at 100. Our celebrity tow-truck has made his way across the pond from Belgium so he can pull Meng's still burning car off of the raceway.

Steve spends time in the jacuzzi in the back of his car...apparently the license plate says TARDIS. Enquiring minds want to know: is your other car named Bessie? Giovanni continues to move up, while the lead pack chasing Steve successfully navigates Epingle without incident.

Next Deadline: Turn 9 Plots due Monday, March 2 at 8am EDT/1pm UTC.

Turn 8 Summary
Steve kicks it up to 160 on the way out of Epingle. Turyko drops to 100 and finishes the outer RL for a wear and moves to the middle. Rando goes 120 for 2 wear on the outer RL and finishes to the outside of Turyko. Josh maxes his car's deceleration and plots 80 through the inside for 1 wear plus a Chance roll with 2 skill points applied. The result is a 5 (1+6-2), so his attempt is successful. John continues on the inner RL at 100 for 2 wear and pulls up behind Turyko. Will goes 120 for 2 wear on the outer RL.

Chris also plots 120 for 2 wear on the RL, and has to skip the slip opportunity. Giovanni takes the initiative over Jim and plots 160, grabbing the Outer RL on the approach to Epingle. Jim plots 140 and pulls up behind Giovanni. Dave plots 120 and uses the slip on Giovanni to line up behind Jim. Marshall goes 140 out of the corner and is able to stay close.
